A sheet conveying device includes a pair of conveyors each including a conveyance face to convey a recording medium inside an image forming apparatus. One of the pair of conveyors further includes an exposed face, a handle, and a swing fulcrum. The exposed face is exposed to an outside of the apparatus while an inside of the apparatus is open. The handle is exposed to the outside of the apparatus and operatable to expose the conveyance face to the outside of the apparatus while the inside of the apparatus is open. The swing fulcrum swings the one of the pair of conveyors to expose the conveyance face to the outside of the apparatus when the handle is operated while the inside of the apparatus is open. The handle includes a partial annular portion. The partial annular portion is included in a plane including a swing direction around the swing fulcrum.

An image processing apparatus locks a particular cover so as not to be opened based on a particular jam being detected, and displays a particular screen for notifying a user that the particular cover is locked.

A feeding apparatus includes a feeding rotary member, a conveying rotary member pair, an output unit, a detection unit, and a control unit. The conveying rotary member pair includes first and second rotary members. The control unit stops a feeding operation when the detection unit does not detect the recording material by the time when a threshold time has elapsed after an operation of feeding a recording material is stated. The control unit determines that the recording material is stopped at a position on an upstream side relative to the nip portion in the feeding direction in a case where a rotation speed of the second rotary member, indicated by a state signal output from the output unit at least in a period of time from when the recording material reaches the nip portion to when the feeding operation is stopped, is faster than a threshold speed.

An image forming apparatus includes a display unit, an operation unit, a memory, and a control unit. The operation unit is operable by a user. The memory stores log information. The control unit includes a processor and, based on operation of the processor in accordance with an operation control program, allows, at an occurrence of an error, the display unit to display an error code corresponding to the error, and upon acceptance of input of a maintenance mode activation password inputted by operating the operation unit, activates a maintenance mode. Under an activation state of the maintenance mode, the control unit reads out the log information from the memory and saves the log information onto a predetermined recording medium, and allows the display unit to display a maintenance screen after the saving of the log information.

The image reading unit (2) reads an image from a document. The image forming unit (3) is located below the image reading unit (2) and forms an image on a sheet. The operation unit (5) is rotatably supported at a position forward of the image reading unit (2) and receives user's operation. The post-process unit (7) is provided between the image reading unit (2) and the image forming unit (3), and has, at a position interfering with the rotation range of the operation unit (5), a retracted portion (772) retracted rearward in the post-process unit (7). The post-process unit (7) performs a post-process on a sheet on which an image has been formed by the image forming unit (3).

An image forming apparatus includes a cover unit, a boss, a hook member, a biasing member and a pressing member. The cover unit is turnably provided on an apparatus main body to form and open a conveying path. The boss is provided on the apparatus main body. The hook member is turnably provided on the cover unit and engaged with the boss when the cover unit is turned to a position where the conveying path is formed. The biasing member is provided on the cover unit and biases the hook member in a direction in which the hook member is engaged with the boss. The pressing member is provided on the cover unit in an elastically deformable manner and abuts on the hook member from an upstream side of a turning direction of the hook member to a position where the hook member is engaged with the boss.

A damper mechanism has first and second rail members, a biasing member, and a slide member. The first rail member is fixed inside the opening/closing member along the up/down direction, and has an oblong guide hole formed therein extending along the longitudinal direction. The second rail member has fixed to a top end part thereof an engaging pin inserted through the guide hole, and has a bottom end part swingably supported on the apparatus main body. The biasing member biases the first and second rail members in a direction in which these approach each other. The slide member is made of resin fixed to the engaging pin, slides while in contact with the first rail member and the opening/closing member, and prevents contact between the engaging pin and an inner circumferential rim of the guide hole.

An image forming apparatus includes a main assembly; an image forming portion for forming an image on a sheet; an openable member rotatably supported by the main assembly; a first feeding guide provided on the openable member; a second feeding guide provided in the main assembly, wherein when the openable member is closed, a sheet feeding path for feeding the sheet is formed by the first and second feeding guides; a hole provided in the first feeding guide; and an illumination device, provided on the openable member, for illuminating at least a part of the second feeding guide through the hole when the openable member is open.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion configured to form an image on a sheet, a sheet feeding device configured to feed the sheet, an openable member configured to be opened for exposing at least a part of a sheet feeding path of the sheet feeding device to an outside of the image forming apparatus, an operating portion operated for opening the openable member, and an illumination device configured to illuminate the operating portion.
