COHERENCE ADJUSTABLE DIGITAL HOLOGRAPHY SYSTEM
Disclosed is a coherence-adjustable digital holography system. More particularly, the coherence-adjustable digital holography system includes a light source part for generating low-interference light; a dispersion part for dispersing the generated light, an adjustment part for adjusting coherence by adjusting a spectrum bandwidth of the light which has passed through the dispersion part; and a detection part for detecting a holographic image of a subject from the adjusted light. In accordance with such a configuration, an interference fringe may be easily obtained through coherence adjustment, whereby the accuracy of a detected holographic image may be improved.
Spatial light modulation
There is disclosed herein a liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator, LCoS SLM, device arranged for in-plane switching. The LCoS SLM device comprises: a silicon backplane (1501); a transparent substrate (1581); a liquid crystal layer (1571); an electrode structure (1505, 1507) and a reflective component (1561, 1551). The liquid crystal layer (1571) is interposed between the silicon backplane (1501) and the transparent substrate (1581). The electrode structure (1505, 1507) is formed on the silicon backplane (1501) for generating an electric field in the liquid crystal layer (1571). The electric field is substantially parallel to the silicon backplane (1501). The reflective component (1551, 1561) is opposing the transparent substrate (1581).
Backplane device
The present invention relates to a backplane device for a light source matrix. A light source is preferably a LED or an OLED. A pixel circuitry of the backplane device is assigned to a light source of the light source matrix for controlling the light source. One light source and one pixel circuitry constitute a pixel. The pixels of the light source matrix are classified according to a pixel characteristic. The order of switching the light sources on and/or off depends on the pixel characteristic and not necessarily on the location of the pixel on the backplane device. A current being applied to the light sources is controlled by at least one driver. The at least one driver is electrically connectable to at least one pixel. The at least one driver is not belonging to the pixel circuitry of the pixel.
COMBINED LIGHT MODULATION DEVICE FOR TRACKING USERS
For comfortable viewing of a 3-D scene at various viewing angles, a display having a large tracking range for a variable viewer distance is required. A controllable light-influencing element deflects light in coarse steps in a viewer range. Within said steps, the light is deflected by a further controllable light-influencing element continuously or with fine gradation. The light modulation device is suitable in holographic or autostereoscopic displays for guiding the visibility ranges of the image information to be displayed so as to follow the eyes of the viewers.
Lighting device for headlights with a phase modulator
There is provided a lighting device arranged to produce a controllable light beam for illuminating a scene. The device comprises an addressable spatial light modulator arranged to provide a selectable phase delay distribution to a beam of incident light. The device further comprises Fourier optics arranged to receive phase-modulated light from the spatial light modulator and form a light distribution. The device further comprises projection optics arranged to project the light distribution to form a pattern of illumination as said controllable light beam.
Apparatus and method for performing in-line lens-free digital holography of an object
The present disclosure relates to apparatuses and methods for performing in-line lens-free digital holography of objects. At least one embodiment relates to an apparatus for performing in-line lens-free digital holography of an object. The apparatus includes a point light source adapted for emitting coherent light. The apparatus also includes an image sensing device adapted and arranged for recording interference patterns resulting from interference from light waves directly originating from the point light source and object light waves. The object light waves originate from light waves from the point light source that are scattered or reflected by the object. The image sensing device comprises a plurality of pixels. The point light source comprises a broad wavelength spectrum light source and a pinhole structure. The image sensing device comprises a respective narrow band wavelength filter positioned above each pixel that filters within a broad wavelength spectrum of the point light source.
Gun sight
A sight assembly for mounting to a weapon. A holographic optical element and a light source are in a fixed angular configuration with respect to one another, but may be adjusted either together or individually in a horizontal or vertical direction. The sight assembly may have a mirror or lens. An adjustment mechanism is provided where a shaft includes at least two portions wherein the two portions of the shaft of the screw have different pitch directions and/or pitch dimensions allowing for slight adjustment the assembly. The light source may be a vertical-cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). A temperature sensor may sense a temperature of the VCSEL. A current to the VCSEL may be adjusted based on a change in the temperature such that the output wavelength is approximately the same as a desired wavelength. The assembly may further allow for perceived image distance adjustment using parallax mismatch.
ILLUMINATION APPARATUS AND DISPLAY APPARATUS
Provided are an illumination apparatus that allows a reduction in thickness and a display apparatus that uses the illumination apparatus. The illumination apparatus includes a laminated illumination portion formed by layering illumination portions that each emit illumination light as a plane wave with a different wavelength. The illumination portions include light sources that emit light of a predetermined wavelength, optical waveguides that propagate the light emitted from the light sources, and gratings that diffract the light propagating through the optical waveguides and emit the light as the illumination light.
LENS-FREE TOMOGRAPHIC IMAGING DEVICES AND METHODS
A system for three dimensional imaging of an object contained within a sample includes an image sensor, a sample holder configured to hold the sample, the sample holder disposed adjacent to the image sensor, and an illumination source comprising partially coherent light. The illumination source is configured to illuminate the sample through at least one of an aperture, fiber-optic cable, or optical waveguide interposed between the illumination source and the sample holder, wherein the illumination source is configured to illuminate the sample through a plurality of different angles.
Lens-free tomographic imaging devices and methods
A lens-free system for the three-dimensional imaging of objects contained within a sample places a sample holder between an image sensor and an illumination source, with the sample-sensor distance being much smaller than the sample-illumination source distance. Holographic images are taken at different angles as well as different lateral jogs within a single angle and are reconstructed into a three dimensional image of objects within the sample. The system may be a hand held, portable unit.
