HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGE APPARATUS FOR HIGH DEPTH OF FIELD HOLOGRAMS
20180181066 · 2018-06-28 ·

A hologram image apparatus includes a plurality of holographic panels, each holographic panel comprising a transparent panel encoded with a portion of a composite hologram image. The hologram image apparatus also includes one or more light sources configured to illuminate each holographic panel of the plurality of the holographic panels from one or more incident angles to produce the composite hologram image.

PROTECTION OF PRIVATE CONTENT AND OBJECTS

A method, system and computer program product for shielding objects from view are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method comprises detecting a specified presence around a given object; determining if the detected presence has authorization to view the given object; and when the detected presence does not have the authorization to view the given object, building a three dimensional holographic shielding image between the given object and the detected presence to shield the given object from the detected presence. In an embodiment, building the shielding image includes determining a position for the shielding image, and building the shielding image at the determined position. In an embodiment, a mobile communications device is used to build the holographic shielding image, and multiple cameras are installed in the mobile communications device to recognize placement of people in an area surrounding the given object.

Gun sight

A sight assembly for mounting to a weapon. A holographic optical element and a light source are in a fixed angular configuration with respect to one another, but may be adjusted either together or individually in a horizontal or vertical direction. The sight assembly may have a mirror or lens. An adjustment mechanism is provided where a shaft includes at least two portions wherein the two portions of the shaft of the screw have different pitch directions and/or pitch dimensions allowing for slight adjustment the assembly. The light source may be a vertical-cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). A temperature sensor may sense a temperature of the VCSEL. A current to the VCSEL may be adjusted based on a change in the temperature such that the output wavelength is approximately the same as a desired wavelength. The assembly may further allow for perceived image distance adjustment using parallax mismatch.

Sharing neighboring map data across devices

A computing device and method are provided for transmitting a relevant subset of map data, called a neighborhood, to enable mutual spatial understanding by multiple display devices around a target virtual location to display a shared hologram in the same exact location in the physical environment at the same moment in time. The computing device may comprise a processor, a memory operatively coupled to the processor, and an anchor transfer program stored in the memory and executed by the processor.
