Neural Interface
Surface electromyography signals of a nervous system are obtained; a separation matrix is generated based on electromyography signals obtained over a first time period using a training module; one or more motor neuron action potentials for single motor neurones are detected based on said electromyography signals and said separation matrix, wherein said electromyography signals are provided over a second time period shorter than said first time period; and an output is generated in the form of a time-series indicative of motor neuron activity.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS DURING DIATHERMY
Disclosed is a system for monitoring physiological parameters during a medical interventional procedure involving high intensity/energy radiofrequency electrical currents/voltages applied through a body of a subject, the system including an electrode-based sensor, configured to close an electrical conduction path passing through a body of a subject, and one or more non-electrode-based sensors, a plurality of electrical lines, a monitor, and a filter array including EMI filters mounted at specific locations and characterized by a frequency response curve having a magnitude of an attenuation in a first frequency range (typical of operating frequencies of high intensity/energy radiofrequency medical interventional equipment), which is greater than a magnitude of an attenuation in a second frequency range (typical of the sampling frequencies of the electrode-based sensor and the one or more non-electrode-based sensors), the system being thereby configured for suppressing noise induced by the medical interventional equipment.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR TREATING VESTIBULAR CONDITIONS
Apparatus and methods are described herein that provide a vibratory device that can apply a vibratory signal to a portion of a head of a user such that the vibratory signal can be conducted via bone to a vestibular system of the user and cause a portion of the vestibular system to move in a manner equivalent to that of a therapeutically effective vibratory signal applied to an area overlaying a mastoid bone of the user. The vibratory device can be associated with frequencies less than 200 Hz. The vibratory device can be effective at treating a physiological condition associated with the vestibular system.
Smart Clothing with Dual Inertial Sensors and Dual Stretch Sensors for Human Motion Capture
This invention is smart clothing which enables human motion capture through combined analysis of data from dual inertial sensors and dual stretch (or bend) sensors. In a preferred embodiment, a first inertial motion sensor is located proximal to a body joint, a second inertial sensor is located distal to the body joint, and two stretch sensors span the body joint in different configurations.
Device features and design elements for long-term adhesion
An electronic device for long-term adhesion to a mammal includes a housing with an electronic component. The electronic device may include a first wing and a second wing, each being integrally formed with the housing. An electrode is positioned on a bottom surface of each of the wings, the electrodes electrically connected to the electronic component. An adhesive layer is provided for adhesion to a surface of the mammal. The adhesive layer may cover a portion of the bottom surfaces of the wings but generally does not cover the electrode or a bottom surface of the housing. A method of applying an electronic device to a mammal includes removing first and second adhesive covers from first and second wings of the electronic device to expose an electrode and an adhesive coated on a bottom surface of each wing.
System, method, and apparatus for applying transcutaneous electrical stimulation
A system, method, and apparatus for treating a medical condition by applying transcutaneous electrical stimulation to a target peripheral nerve of a subject. Electrical stimulation is applied to the peripheral nerve via a stimulation electrode pattern under closed-loop control in which EMG responses are monitored and used to adjust stimulation parameters. In response to detecting an unacceptable recording, electrical stimulation is applied to the peripheral nerve under open-loop control.
