FITNESS-BASED GAME MECHANICS
Embodiments provide techniques for rewarding users within a computer game for performing fitness activity. One embodiment determines a physical world fitness gaming objectives for a first user. Physical activity of the first user is monitored using one or more fitness devices to collect user fitness data. The user fitness data is analyzed to determine whether the first user has completed the one or more physical world gaming objectives. Upon determining a first one of the one or more physical world gaming objectives has been completed, embodiments determine one or more game rewards corresponding to the completed first physical world gaming objective and grant the first user the one or more game rewards within the first computer game.
Mechanical Assisted Active Orthosis Using a Robotic Application
A knee orthosis provides varying levels of support to a patient during a stance phase and a swing phase of a gait cycle. The orthosis comprises an upper auxiliary support, a lower auxiliary support, an actuator, a sensor configured to detect a plurality of leg movements during the gait cycle and to output a plurality of detection signals corresponding to the detected leg movements, and a processor configured to determine whether the knee is in the stance phase or the swing phase of the gait cycle, to control the actuator to apply pressure on the lower auxiliary support when the knee is in the stance phase, and to release pressure when the knee is in the swing phase.
ARTIFICIAL HYPOTHALAMUS FOR BODY TEMPERATURE REGULATION
An artificial hypothalamus system for regulating body temperature for a human can include monitoring data from a plurality of sensors. The sensor data can be used in a control system to optimize temperature regulation in real time through a feedback loop. The feedback loop can include monitoring the sensor data, evaluating a predetermined set of fuzzy rules using the data, and combining the output of the fuzzy rules to produce a precise value. The precise value can correspond to an output level for various temperature regulation devices, and a signal can be transmitted based on the precise value to activate the temperature regulation devices to a corresponding level of output.
Systems and methods for decoding intended motor commands from recorded neural signals for the control of external devices or to interact in virtual environments
Systems and methods for decoding neural and/or electromyographic signals are provided. A system can include at least one single channel decoder. Optionally, the system can include a demixer in operable communication with the single channel decoders. Each single channel decoder can include a filter to attenuate noise and sharpen spikes in the neural and/or electromyographic signals, a detection function to identify spikes, and a demodulator to get a real-time estimate of motor intent.
Movement Analysis and Feedback Systems, Applications, Devices, and Methods of Production Thereof
Contemplated systems for monitoring and analysis of human motion synthesis are disclosed herein that include: at least one garment configured to be worn by a user, at least one inertial sensor, wherein the at least one inertial sensor is integrated with or into the at least one garment, an information system, wherein the information system communicates with the at least one inertial sensor to produce a set of data, at least one musculorientation metric generated by the information system, and at least one performance report that is produced from the analysis of the at least one musculorientation metric.
Systems and associated methods for use of patterns in processing on mobile monitoring device
An arrangement may include a first system provided by a mobile device for processing physiological data representative of a beating heart. The mobile device may be adapted to execute a process for using at least one pattern to detect a notable finding in the physiological data and for sending the notable finding to a second system. The second system may be adapted to execute a process for analyzing the notable finding, for determining at least one new pattern to send to the mobile device, and for sending the at least one new pattern to the mobile device. The at least one new pattern may also include a rule that includes a set of conditions and an action to perform if the set of conditions is met.
System and method for discrimination of central and obstructive disordered breathing events
Disordered breathing events may be classified as central, obstructive or a combination of central an obstructive in origin based on patient motion associated with respiratory effort. Central disordered breathing is associated with disrupted respiration with reduced respiratory effort. Obstructive disordered breathing is associated with disrupted respiration accompanied by respiratory effort. A disordered breathing classification system includes a disordered breathing detector and a respiratory effort motion sensor. Components of the disordered breathing classification system may be fully or partially implantable.
Scale-based systems and methods for monitoring heart function
In accordance with an example embodiment, a body-weight sensing scale includes cardio-based physiological sensing circuitry to detect heart characteristics of a user, and provide outputs indicative of the detected heart characteristics. A processor circuit is arranged with the cardio-based physiological sensing circuitry to process data to provide a noise-reduced cardiogram signal which characterizes functionality/health of the user's heart.
Mobile wearable electromagnetic brain activity monitor
This invention is a mobile wearable electromagnetic brain activity monitor comprising a frame worn on a person's head, electromagnetic energy sensors which collect data concerning the person's electromagnetic brain activity, and a control unit. The electromagnetic energy sensors can be electroencephalogram (EEG) electrodes. In an example, the frame can be circular. In an example, the frame can loop around the person's head from one ear to the other ear. In an example, the frame can be an eyewear frame which also includes light-transmitting optical members.
