Eyewear
A problem related to a known eyewear-type electro-oculogram measuring apparatus which detects the eye potential using a pair of electrodes positioned outside both the eyes of a user and a pair of electrodes respectively positioned above and below one eye is that the two pairs of electrodes have had an impact on the skins of users, and discomfort on them. Besides, the electrodes are not excellent in design. The present invention provides eyewear including: a frame; a pair of nose pads; and a first electrode and a second electrode respectively provided on the surface of the pair of nose pads, the first electrode and the second electrode detecting eye potential.
CONTENT EVALUATION SYSTEM AND CONTENT EVALUATION METHOD USING THE SYSTEM
A reliable content evaluation method and system are disclosed. The system includes a brainwave detector, a bio signal detector, a first controller, and a second controller. The brainwave detector detects a brainwave signal of a subject provided with content and outputs a result. The bio signal detector detects bio signals of the subject and outputs a result. The first controller can modify the brainwave and the bio signals to a signal level available for the second controller. The second controller detects change of the brainwave signal and the bio signal through an analysis of the brain wave signal and the bio signal from the first controller. Then, the second controller determines at least one of a degree of engagement and an emotional reaction of the subject to the content, using changes in the brainwave signal and the bio signal, and evaluates the content using the determined results.
Biosignal measurement device
A biosignal measurement device is proposed which can improve measurement accuracy without forcing an excessive burden on subjects. A biosignal measurement device used for measurement of a biosignal in a head includes a support that can support the head, and an electrode provided to the support. The electrode has a plurality of teeth each including an annular portion in which a pair of linear members having conductivity are formed in an annular shape, and a rod-like portion in which the pair of linear members are wound in opposite directions and formed in a rod-like shape. The rod-like portion in each of the plurality of teeth is directly or indirectly fixed at one end to the support.
Methods, apparatuses and systems for diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders
A method and apparatus for diagnosing and/or treating mood disorders, such as depression, is provided. Right vestibular function in subjects diagnosed with a mood disorder is diminished compared with subjects who do not have a mood disorder. Accordingly, a method and apparatus for determining right vestibular function in a subject is provided, from which a diagnosis of a mood disorder may be determined. Stimulation of the vestibular system of a subject diagnosed with a mood disorder may reduce symptoms of the mood disorder in the subject. A method and apparatus for registering a subject's response to stimulation of the vestibular system and providing therapeutic vestibular stimulation based on the subject's response is provided. A subject's response to stimulation of the vestibular system may be based on measurements of nystagmus in the subject.
Driver monitoring system
A driver state monitoring (DSM) system includes an image obtainment apparatus configured to obtain image information of a user driving a vehicle; a biological information obtainment unit configured to be worn on a specific portion of the user's body and to obtain biological information from the specific portion of the user's body; and a controller configured to detect a dangerous driving-state in which the user drives the vehicle, based on the image information and the biological information of the user.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING DAMPED ELECTROMAGNETICALLY ACTUATED PLANAR MOTION FOR AUDIO-FREQUENCY VIBRATIONS
A vibration module for applying vibrational tractions to a wearer's skin is presented. Use of the vibration module in headphones is illustrated for providing tactile sensations of low frequency for music, for massage, and for electrical recording and stimulation of the wearer. Damped, planar, electromagnetically-actuated vibration modules of the moving magnet type are presented in theory and reduced to practice, and shown to provide a substantially uniform frequency response over the range 40-200 Hz with a minimum of unwanted audio.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING CONTINUOUS BIOMEDICAL SIGNAL
A method and system for monitoring a biomedical signal employ a sensor module configured to output a continuous electrical signal by sensing the biomedical signal, a memory configured to store reference data, a transmitter configured to transmit output data via a wireless channel, and a data processing unit configured to determine whether to transmit input data via the transmitter as the output data, based on the input data, which is generated from the continuous electrical signal, and the reference data.
HUMAN PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS USING WAVE OF ELECTRICAL STIMULI
A human body support, such as a chair, has a plurality of electrodes arranged in an array and spaced longitudinally with respect to the human body. The array extends from an inferior position to a more superior position along the body. A sensor measures a parameter of the human body that is capable of indicating the presence of drowsiness. A controller has an input connected to the sensor for receiving a signal representing the sensed parameter and has outputs connected to each of the electrodes. The controller detects whether the sensed parameter is within a range indicating the presence of drowsiness and applies a wave of electrical stimuli against the human body in response to detection of a sensed parameter within the range. The electrical stimuli cause periodic tightening and relaxing of proximate muscles as the wave progresses in a direction from an inferior location on the human body toward a more superior location.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR ELECTROOCULOGRAM DETECTION, AND CORRESPONDING PORTABLE DEVICES
Electrooculogram (EOG) detection methods and EOG detection apparatuses are described. The EOG detection method can comprise: acquiring at least one EOG signal of a blink of at least one eye of a user; and analyzing the at least one EOG signal to determine whether the blink is a protective blink. A basis is thus provided for further applications of an eye movement detection technology by determining, according to an EOG signal of a user, whether a blink of the user is a protective blink.
ELECTRO-OCULOGRAPHIC DETECTOR AND ELECTRO-OCULOGRAPHIC DETECTION METHOD
According to one embodiment, at least four EOG electrodes are provided with the periphery of user's eyes. The left eye side electrodes and the right eye side electrodes are arranged symmetrically with respect to a vertical line passing the middle of a line connecting the centers of both eyes. Two electrodes above and two electrodes below the line connecting the centers of both eyes are arranged to avoid area AXL including an inflection point where an EOG detection polarity differs in the right and left of a vertical line passing the center of the left eye and area AXR including an inflection point where an EOG detection polarity differs in the right and left of a vertical line passing the center of the right eye.
