11481028 · 2022-10-25 · ·

According to one embodiment, an eye movement detecting device comprises first, second, third, fourth and fifth electrodes. A line connecting the first and the third electrodes passes through the right eye and a line connecting the second and the fourth electrodes passes through the left eye on at least one of a front view, a plan view or a side view. A distance between the fifth and the first electrodes is equal to a distance between the fifth and the second electrodes. A distance between the fifth and the third electrodes is equal to a distance between the fifth and the fourth electrodes. The detector respectively detects a horizontal movement of the right eye and a horizontal movement of the left eye.

System for in-home sleep and signal analysis

The present invention provides a method of conducting a sleep analysis by collecting physiologic and kinetic data from a subject, preferably via a wireless in-home data acquisition system, while the subject attempts to sleep at home. The sleep analysis, including clinical and research sleep studies and cardiorespiratory studies, can be used in the diagnosis of sleeping disorders and other diseases or conditions with sleep signatures, such as Parkinson's, epilepsy, chronic heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, or other neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, or muscular disorders. The method of the present invention can also be used to determine if environmental factors at the subject's home are preventing restorative sleep.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING AND ACTING ON A PHYSIOLOGICAL CONDITION OF A STIMULATION SYSTEM RECIPIENT

An illustrative system includes a stimulation device configured to apply stimulation to a recipient, a sensing device configured to detect a physiological condition of the recipient, and a processing unit communicatively coupled to the stimulation device and the sensing device. The processing unit determines a stimulation strategy that is customized to the recipient and includes stimulation frames and stimulation gaps. The processing unit then directs the stimulation device to apply the stimulation to the recipient in accordance with the stimulation strategy by applying the stimulation only during time that corresponds to the stimulation frames. The processing unit also directs the sensing device to detect the physiological condition of the recipient in accordance with the stimulation strategy by detecting only during time that corresponds to the stimulation gaps. Based on the detected physiological condition, the processing unit performs an action. Corresponding systems, methods, and apparatuses are also disclosed.

A system and method for determining parameters of stimulation electrical signals for vagus nerve stimulation is discussed. Initial parameters of the signals are selected to provide reliable response to stimulation in physiological measurements of a subject. One or more physiological and neurological indices are determined based on a vagus nerve response model. For a selected vagus nerve activation, the electrical parameters of the signals are varied while monitoring changes in physiological parameters and values of the indices. The electrical parameters are varied until desired response in the physiological measurements and the values of the indices is observed. The electrical parameters are then stored as preferred parameters and can be used to activate the selected vagus nerve of the subject.
