Olfactory means for the diagnosis of neurological complications of nervous system infection

The application generally relates to olfaction as a biomarker, more particularly as a prognostic biomarker or biological predictor, of neurosensory disease or disorder and/or of neurocognitive disease or disorder, in subjects whose nervous system has been infected by an infectious agent, such as by a neurotropic virus, bacterium, protozoan parasite, fungus or prion, more particularly by a neurotropic virus.

FEEDBACK DEVICE FOR SENSE OF TASTE, AND FEEDBACK SYSTEM AND FEEDBACK METHOD FOR USING THE SAME

A feedback device, a feedback system, and a feedback method for taste sense is disclosed, wherein the feedback device includes a processor, a container, and a providing mechanism. Multiple taste materials are stored in the container. When a media player plays a multimedia file to a labeled paragraph, a control signal is sent to the feedback device. After receiving the control signal, the processor controls the providing mechanism to provide a corresponding one of the taste materials for the user to eat. Therefore, the user may obtain taste feedback that is relevant to the label paragraph of the multimedia file through the feedback device.

The present disclosure relates to the field of brainwave technology, and provides a detection device and a detection method. The detection device includes: a brainwave acquisition circuit configured to collect a brainwave signal of a user in the case that a distance between the user and a to-be-detected object is smaller than a threshold; and a processing circuit configured to process the collected brainwave signal to acquire brainwave information, and acquire a detection result of the to-be-detected object in accordance with the brainwave information. The brainwave information includes at least one of olfactory information and gustatory information of the user.

SCREENING OF INDIVIDUALS FOR A RESPIRATORY DISEASE USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

An artificial intelligence-based system and method for scalable screening of individuals for respiratory infection, such as COVID-19. The system is trained to distinguish distinct latent features of cough sounds produced by a COVID-19 infected person from cough sounds produced by patients suffering from any other respiratory infection or involuntary cough sounds produced by a healthy person. Cough sound samples from individuals can be remotely collected and evaluated by the system for likelihood of the COVID-19 infection. Additionally, images of affected body parts, biomarkers, metadata, and other respiratory sound samples can also be used for screening.

DEVICES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ASSESSMENT AND RECORDATION OF REACTIONS TO STIMULI

Provided herein are methods of recording objective responses of a subject to stimuli, and devices and user interfaces (UI) for use therewith. In particular, the present invention provides UIs that allow a user to record objective multivariable responses to stimuli, devices comprising such UIs, and methods of using such UIs and devices to assess the characteristics of a sample or product.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM

A via visual representation a relationship between a smell or a taste of an object and a verbal description of the smell or taste, a display control unit controls a projector to display, in a display area including to a position of a sample, specified by the position specifying unit, one or more descriptions relating to the sense of smell or taste stimulated by the sample. Here, display control unit displays the descriptions by an appearance corresponding to the sample specified by the sample specifying unit.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND PROGRAM

The discovery of a new expression likely to be supported as a smell or taste expression by many users. An acquisition unit acquires appearance history of expressions used by a plurality of users from SNS server device via network. An extraction unit extracts, for each user attribute, appearing expression, appearance frequency of which exceeds threshold value on basis of appearance history acquired by the acquisition unit. The extracted appearing expression is referred to as a frequently appearing expression. A presentation unit presents the frequently appearing expression extracted by the extraction unit as an expression candidate meaning a smell to a user who uses an input device. A registration unit registers the smell and the expression in association with each other when the frequency of selection, by the user who uses the input device, of the expression presented to the user as an expression meaning the smell satisfies a determined condition.

Systems and methods for detecting corrupt or inaccurate sensory representations

A system for monitoring neural activity of a living subject is provided. The system may comprise a correspondence module configured to be in communication with (1) a neural module and (2) one or more additional modules comprising a sensing module, another neural module, and/or a data storage module. The neural module(s) are configured to collect neural data indicative of perceptions experienced by the living subject. The sensing module may be configured to collect (1) sensor data indicative of real-world information about an environment around the living subject, and/or (2) sensor data indicative of a physical state or physiological state of the living subject. The data storage module may be configured to store prior neural data and/or prior sensor data. The correspondence module may be configured to measure a correspondence (a) between the neural data collected by the neural module(s) and the sensor data collected by the sensing module, (b) between the neural data collected by two or more neural modules, and/or (c) between the neural data collected by the neural module(s) and the prior data stored in data storage module. The measured correspondence can be used to determine a presence, absence, or extent of a potential cognitive or physiological disturbance of the living subject.
