Systems, devices, and methods are provided for reducing a risk of unintentional falls in a subject that is at risk for falls. The device includes a sensor and a stimulator. The sensor is configured to be positioned adjacent a body portion of the user that changes orientation when the user sits and stands. The sensor is also configured to emit an activation signal when the user stands and to emit a deactivation signal when the user sits or lies down. The stimulator is in communication with the sensor and is configured to be positioned adjacent one of a calf and a lower back of the user. The stimulator is configured to vibrate at a frequency that stimulates proprioceptors of the user without inducing muscle contractions upon receipt of the activation signal from the sensor and to cease vibration upon receipt of the deactivation signal from the sensor.

Systems and methods of treating proprioceptive dysfunction and vestibular disorders

The systems, methods, apparatuses, and articles disclosed herein provide a new approach to treatment symptoms, such as proprioceptive dysfunction and vestibular disorders, which may be caused by certain types of human ailments. According to the present disclosure, a wearable article may include one or more limb sections and a resilient member may be provided along a length of each of the one or more limb sections and configured to generate a resistance force. Adjustments to the resistance force provided by the resilient member(s) may be adjusted using cord locks. As a user wearing the wearable article moves, the resistance force is applied to the user's limbs. Strain gauges may be provided to measure the resistance force(s), which enables verification that the resilient members are sized and configured to provide an appropriate amount of resistance force to a user and may improve programs and regimens designed to treat such ailments.

The application discloses a method for monitoring a user gesture and a wearable device. The method comprises: providing an inertial sensor in a wearable device, the wearable device being located on the head of a user when being worn; monitoring movement data of the head of the user in real time, by using the inertial sensor, when the user is wearing the wearable device; conducting gesture solving by using the movement data to obtain gesture data of the head of the user; determining whether a head gesture of the user is a correct gesture according to the gesture data and a preset strategy; and sending a reminder to the user when the head gesture of the user is an incorrect gesture.

Apparatus for assessing human balance capability

An apparatus with one or more force plates senses of center-of-pressure and force-angle in the sagittal plane for a standing individual to provide an indication of balance capability based on the deduced functional relationship between center-of-pressure and force-angle within a limited band of frequencies. In one embodiment this relationship may be expressed as an intersection point of the force vectors with respect to the individual's center-of-mass.

MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING SAME

Various embodiments of a monitoring system are disclosed. The monitoring system includes first and second sensors each adapted to detect a characteristic of a subject of the system and generate data representative of the characteristic of the subject, and a controller operatively connected to the first and second sensors. The controller is adapted to receive data representative of first and second characteristics of the subject from the first and second sensors, and determine statistics for first and second condition substates of the subject over a monitoring time period based upon the data received from the first and second sensors. The controller is further adapted to compare the statistics of the first and second condition substates, confirm the first condition substate if it is substantially similar to the second condition substate, and determine the statistics of an overall condition state of the subject based upon the confirmed first condition substate.

PLATFORM TO DETECT PATIENT HEALTH CONDITION BASED ON IMAGES OF PHYSIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF A PATIENT

A user device may receive video associated with a patient, wherein the video depicts physiological activity involving the patient. The user device may receive profile information associated with the patient. The user device may obtain, from the video, image data using an image processing model. The user device may analyze the image data to generate a patient signature associated with the image data, wherein the patient signature is representative of the physiological activity. The user device may access a reference data structure that includes a plurality of reference signatures. The user device may identify that the patient signature is associated with a reference signature of the plurality of reference signatures, wherein the reference signature is associated with a health condition.
