This disclosure relates to systems and methods to analyze gait, balance or posture information extracted from data collected by one or more wearable and connected sensor devices with sensors embedded therewithin. The embedded sensors include a three-axis accelerometer, a three-axis gyroscope and an array of pressure sensors. Sensor data detected by the sensors can be received by a mobile computing device, which can analyze the sensor data to identify a pattern related to gait, balance or posture within the sensor data; and apply a statistical/machine learning-based classification to the pattern related to gait, balance or posture to as sign a clinical parameter to the pattern characterizing a risk of a slip, trip and fall event.

Wearable system and method for monitoring intoxication

A system for transdermal alcohol sensing to be worn near a skin surface of a user, including: an alcohol sensor; a microporous membrane; a housing coupled to the alcohol sensor and the membrane, defining a volume between the alcohol sensor and a first membrane side, and fluidly isolating the volume from a second membrane side opposing the first membrane side; an electronics subsystem electrically coupled to the alcohol sensor, operable to power and receive signals from the alcohol sensor; and a fastener operable to position the second membrane side proximal the skin surface.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WHOLE-BODY BALANCE ASSESSMENT
20240315637 · 2024-09-26 · ·

Systems and methods for analyzing whole-body balance comprise and perform the steps of: obtaining depth image data of a person's body during a predefined time period; tracking locations of a plurality of anatomical landmarks of the body based on the depth image data; estimating a mass center of the body based on a tracked location of each of one or more of the anatomical landmarks; and determining a stability of body, SoB, score based on a deviation of the estimated mass center over the predefined time period, wherein the SoB score is indicative of the whole-body balance.

METHOD FOR DELIVERING DIGITAL THERAPEUTICS

Disclosed is a method for delivering digital therapeutics. A method for delivering digital therapeutics according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: determining the degree of emotional disorder of a patient on the basis of diagnosis information and digital therapeutics usage information of the patient; determining digital therapeutics to be delivered to the patient according to the determined degree of emotional disorder, and delivering the determined digital therapeutics to a user terminal of the patient.

A SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ENHANCING HUMAN SENSORIMOTOR ABILITY
20240306942 · 2024-09-19 · ·

An apparatus and method for enhancing motor skill ability of a user comprising: a display unit to provide the user with visual images; any, or any combination of a plurality of movement sensing devices for sensing a user's movement response; and a control unit that provides the images to the display unit, records the user's movement responses, and analyses the responses. In use, the visual display unit presents an image of the human body or part thereof to the user and the user is instructed to mentally determine a particular feature of the image and make a corresponding movement in accordance with the feature identified. A sensing device senses the user's movement response. A control unit assesses the response and provides feedback to the user, or alternatively calculates a score for comparison with normative data or to track an individual's progress.

Impairment detection

A method for monitoring impairment indicators, the method includes measuring, with a movement sensor attached to the person, a first signal related to movement of a person during a first time window and electronically storing the at least one numerical descriptor derived from the first signal as reference data for the person. The method further includes measuring, with the movement sensor attached to the person, a second signal related to movement of the person during a second time window and comparing at least one numerical descriptor derived from the second signal to the reference data as a factor to identify an impairment indicator. The present disclosure also includes a device for monitoring impairment indicators.

Method For Measuring Trunk Balance, Method For Determining Color Of Lens For Eyewear, Method For Determining Color Of Contact Lens, Method For Determining Color Of Frame For Eyewear, And Method For Determining Color Of Wearable Item For Human
20240339219 · 2024-10-10 · ·

A more suitable eyewear lens color is selected. An eyewear lens color determination method has: a color acquisition step (step S1, step S2) of causing a person under evaluation of which trunk balance is to be measured to stand such that his/her posture becomes readily unstable upon external application of a force to the person under evaluation, then having the person under evaluation hold each of colored paper sheets of different colors in sequence, and measuring trunk balance of the person under evaluation based on a movement of the person under evaluation produced by externally applying a force thereto in order to acquire color information on the thing providing the result of good trunk balance; and a color determination step (step S3, step S4) of determining an eyewear lens color based on the color information acquired in the color acquisition step.

Apparatus and methods are described herein that provide a vibratory device that can apply a vibratory signal to a portion of a head of a user such that the vibratory signal can be conducted via bone to a vestibular system of the user and cause a portion of the vestibular system to move in a manner equivalent to that of a therapeutically effective vibratory signal applied to an area overlaying a mastoid bone of the user. The vibratory device can be associated with frequencies less than 200 Hz. The vibratory device can be effective at treating a physiological condition associated with the vestibular system.

MITIGATION OF HEAD-MOUNTED-DISPLAY IMPACT VIA BIOMETRIC SENSORS AND LANGUAGE PROCESSING

Users of head-mounted displays (HMDs) often experience nausea and other symptoms often referred to a virtual reality sickness. Various health and biometric sensors are employed to gather baseline sensor measurements. The HMD or a device associated with it can then generate a range or threshold such that any future sensor measurements that fall outside of the range or cross the threshold suggest a health concern for the user of the HMD. The HMD can also be coupled to a microphone, and natural language processing (NLP) is employed to detect negative words or noises made by the user that could also suggest a health concern for the user. After detecting the health concern, the HMD can warn its user, can shut off certain functions, can communicate with an external device, or can trigger an alarm.
