SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE THROUGH PERIPHERAL NERVE STIMULATION

Systems and methods for treating symptoms of an inflammatory gastrointestinal disease in a patient with transcutaneous stimulation of a peripheral nerve are disclosed. The method can include any number of positioning a first peripheral nerve effector on the patient's skin to stimulate the peripheral nerve of the patient, delivering a first electrical nerve stimulation signal transcutaneously to the peripheral nerve through the first peripheral nerve effector, and modifying at least one brain or spinal cord autonomic feedback loop relating to release of neurotransmitters from the autonomic nervous system that modulate synthesis of inflammatory biomarkers and reduce inflammation relating to the inflammatory gastrointestinal disease.

Systems and methods for providing user insights based on heart rate variability

A system can include a wearable device that obtains real-time physiological data and activity data from a user and transmits that data to another device. A computing device can receive the data and calculate a first HRV score for the user based on physiological data from first time period and a second HRV score for the user based physiological data from a second time period. The device can present the user with at least one of the first and second HRV scores. In one example, a graphical display is provided on a GUI that includes indicators for each day of the week. In response to a user selecting an indicator for a day of the week, the GUI can display an HRV score for the selected day, among other information.

Systems and methods for providing user insights based on heart rate variability

A system can include a wearable device that obtains real-time physiological data and activity data from a user and transmits that data to another device. A computing device can receive HRV and activity data and determine whether the user's autonomic nervous system is in a predominantly sympathetic or parasympathetic state. For example, the determination can include comparing an average variance in a portion of the HRV data with a threshold value. In response to determining that the user's autonomic nervous system is in a sympathetic state, the device can perform an action.

Information processing apparatus

An information processing apparatus includes a calculation unit, a designing unit, and a presentation unit. The calculation unit calculates autonomic activity of a participant, using biometric information measured by a measuring device that measures biometric information of the participant belonging to a group place. The designing unit designs a progress plan of communication at the group place in a design aspect corresponding to the calculated activity. The presentation unit presents the designed progress plan.

A bio information measurement device and a bio information measurement method are provided. The bio information measurement device includes: a heart information acquisition unit for acquiring heart information; a brainwave information acquisition unit for acquiring brainwave information; a control unit for acquiring heart-brain synchronization information on the basis of the heart information and the brainwave information; and a display unit for displaying the heart-brain synchronization information. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a health index reflecting the influence of both the automatic nervous system and the central nervous system.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

There is provided an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program enabling to present more appropriate feedback. An arousal state determination unit determines which state among hyperarousal, optimal arousal, and hypoarousal an arousal state of a user is in, and a feedback information generation unit generates feedback information for the user on the basis of the determined arousal state. The technology according to the present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a wearable device.

Neuro-physiology and neuro-behavioral based stimulus targeting system

An example system includes an analyzer to determine a first distance between (1) a first peak in a first frequency band of first neuro-response data gathered from a subject while exposed to media and (2) a second peak in the first frequency band; determine a second distance between (1) a third peak in the first frequency band and either (2) the second peak in the first frequency band or (3) a fourth peak in the first frequency band and determine a first difference between the first distance and the second distance. The example system includes a selector to determine a modification for the media based on the first difference and a modifier to implement the modification for presentation of the media.
