Methods, system and apparatus for identifying an extreme epileptic state/event in a patient are provided. In one aspect, at least two seizure events are identified. At least one inter-seizure interval (ISI) value related to the at least two seizure events are determined. The ISI value is compared to at least one reference value. An occurrence of an extreme seizure event is determined based upon the comparison of the determined ISI value to the at least one reference value. In another aspect, a first seizure event is detected. At least one body index affected by the first seizure event is determined. A second seizure event is detected. An occurrence of an extreme seizure event is determined based at least in part in response to a determination that the second seizure event occurred prior to the body index value returning to a reference value.

Apparatus for, method of, and computer program product having program of displaying biological information

A biological information displaying apparatus according to an embodiment includes a picture obtaining apparatus and a processor. The picture obtaining apparatus obtains a picture signal of a predetermined site of a subject as a moving image. The processor generates a hue moving image by extracting a luminance or an image-based photoplethysmogram (iPPG) related to a pulse wave for each pixel of the moving image and assigning a hue in accordance with a value of luminance information or iPPG information. The processor displays the generated hue moving image such that the hue moving image is superimposed on an image of the subject.

The biological information acquirer is configured to acquire biological information of a user who rests in the vehicle. The evaluation value calculator is configured to calculate, based on the biological information, an evaluation value for evaluating a balance of an autonomic nervous system of the user. The notification controller is configured to make a comparison between a first evaluation value calculated by the evaluation value calculator and a second evaluation value calculated at a different timing from the first evaluation value and notify the user of a result of the comparison.

Biological detection system, biological detection method, and program

Included are: an averaging processing unit configured to acquire video data of a facial image captured of a face of a target person and average all pixels in a specific region of the acquired video data, at regular time intervals, in terms of a difference component between color components of primary colors in the specific region; a fluctuation acquisition unit configured to obtain a fluctuation in each of the color components of the primary colors averaged by the averaging processing unit; and a detection unit configured to detect a blood flow or an activity based on the blood flow on the basis of an amount of fluctuation obtained by the fluctuation acquisition unit. This makes it possible to easily, in a non-contact manner, highly accurately detect the blood flow and detect an activity such as an autonomic nervous activity without preparing a special device.

System for detecting abnormal blood volume and pressure

Provided is a medical system and method for neuromonitoring based on a biosignal. The medical system includes a computing system and performs the method for neuromonitoring based on a biosignal. The method includes monitoring and analysing the biosignal for localizing autonomic nerves associated with a stimulus-induced muscle reaction of smooth muscles of a target organ. The analysing step includes performing time-domain signal analysis of the biosignal to obtain time-domain signal characteristics; performing time-frequency-domain signal analysis of the biosignal to obtain time-frequency-domain signal characteristics; and determining, based on the time-domain signal characteristics and the time-frequency-domain signal characteristics, whether the biosignal is representative of a stimulus-induced muscle reaction. The method further includes outputting an indication that the stimulus-induced muscle reaction has been detected based on determining that the biosignal is representative of the stimulus-induced muscle reaction.

NEUROLOGICAL STATE EVALUATION SYSTEM, NEUROLOGICAL STATE EVALUATION METHOD, AND NEUROLOGICAL STATE EVALUATION PROGRAM

A neurological state of a subject is accurately evaluated, and an evaluation result suitable for the subject is provided. A pupil index calculation unit generates waveform data of a pupil area based on a moving image in which a pupil of the subject is captured with a distortion-corrected lens, and then calculates a pupil index. The neurological state estimation unit estimates a sympathetic neural age and a parasympathetic neural age, which are neurological states for each of the left and right pupils of the subject, based on the pupil index. A comment generation unit evaluates the neurological state of the subject from the estimated neurological state, and the improvement measure generation unit generates advice suitable for the subject based on the evaluation result. A display unit displays the evaluation result of the neurological state and the advice in a neurological state evaluation system.
