Probe response signals
A method and apparatus are disclosed for simultaneously providing a plurality of probe response signals indicative of electrical activity at a respective plurality of locations in a patient. The apparatus comprises a rigid needle shaft element comprising a piercing tip and a substrate supporting a plurality of electrode tracks, secured to the needle shaft element and extending along the shaft element away from the piercing tip. Each electrode track extends from a sensing end region arranged for providing a respective probe response signal responsive to localised electrical activity, along the region of the substrate, to a respective bond pad connection region. Recording surface regions of the plurality of electrode tracks are spaced apart in a plurality of substantially linear spaced apart configurations along the substrate.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR MAPPING PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY
To provide objective indications of the progression of peripheral neuropathy of patients, a transmitter apparatus is utilized to produce reproducible pulse signals to specified locations on the human body to determine a minimum level of stimulation necessary to elicit a consciously detectable sensation through the generation of a series of pulse signals of varying intensities, and the recordation of the number of pulse signals felt by the patient. Moreover, the nerve velocity of the patient is additionally determined for a patient via the transmitter apparatus and a receiver apparatus detecting body-signals passing along a nerve within the patient and corresponding to the pulse signals applied to the patient. The results of these tests are recorded over time, thereby enabling generation of patient-specific models indicative of the progression of the patient's peripheral neuropathy over time.
FLEXIBLE SURGICAL ACCESS PORT
A flexible surgical access port is provided that includes a flexible body. The flexible body is configured to elastically expand in response to passage of a surgical equipment therethrough, and thus retracts as the surgical equipment moves past. Thus, the flexible body can provide a surgical access path through Kambin's Triangle, and large surgical equipment passed through the flexible body does not compress the exiting nerve or the traversing nerve root for a prolonged period of time.
Mixed ionic electronic conductors: devices, systems and methods of use
The invention provides a variety of novel devices, systems, and methods of utilizing mixed-ionic-electronic conductor (MIEC) materials adapted to function with an applied current or potential. The materials, as part of a circuit, are placed in contact with a part of a human or nonhuman animal body. A sodium selective membrane system utilizing the MIEC is also described.
Methods and systems for operating an intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring system in conjunction with electrocautery procedures
Methods and systems for conditioning a signal indicative of electrosurgical unit activity are described. A hardware circuit acquires AC current from an electrosurgical unit on patient isolated circuitry and conditions the signal in either of two alternate processing methods. The processed signal is routed as input to an analog to digital converter circuit. A method for determining saturation on referential inputs and recovering inputs to an unsaturated state is also described.
Portable electroneurodiagnostic cart
A wheeled intraoperative neuromonitoring transport device capable of portability and overhead airplane storage that comprises a lower frame that includes two outer legs and an inner support frame, an equipment holder secured about the lower frame, a back frame secured the lower frame, a frame coupled in sliding relation with the back frame between an opened and closed position, and an articulating computer tray carried by the frame via at least one pivoting joint.
Bioimpedance measurement method and apparatus with electrical stimulation performance
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method and apparatus for measuring a bioimpedance and performing an electrical stimulation. The method includes generating a first current corresponding to a first high-frequency, generating a second current corresponding to a second high-frequency, generating a low-frequency current based on a beat phenomenon of the first current and the second current, and calculating an impedance of a target part based on a voltage induced to the target part by a high-frequency current corresponding to at least one of the first current and the second current and the low-frequency current.
ENDOSCOPE WITH PROCEDURE GUIDANCE
An endoscope based system is configured to provide one or more procedure guidance features. The endoscope is paired with an image processing device that performs object detection and other analysis on captured images, and displays an interface to users that includes various visual guidance combined with endoscopic images. Interfaces displayed in different modes may indicate the location and extent of energy delivery tracked by the system, may guide placement of implant devices, may identify the location of nerves within tissue, and may provide step-by-step guidance for navigating the endoscope to certain anatomy. In some implementations, a removable and replaceable sheath may be coupled to the endoscope, and may enable one or more functional features of the endoscope while maintaining a sterile barrier. Sheaths may include an embedded memory that stores procedure configurations and procedure results.
ELECTRIC SIGNAL TRANSMISSION DEVICE AND ELECTRIC SIGNAL TRANSMISSION DEVICE OPERATION METHOD
An electric signal transmission device including an electrode 11, disposed to be opposed to an electrogenic cell, and for sending and receiving electric signals to and from the electrogenic cell via the electrode 11.
Flexible Sheet for Neuromuscular Stimulation
A flexible sheet for neurostimulation is described having a flexible non-conductive substrate matrix in which electrodes are embedded along a lower surface. Electrically conductive wires extend from the electrodes through the flexible substrate to another exterior surface of the substrate. Methods of making the flexible sheet and making a device using the flexible sheet are also disclosed.
