System, method, and computer program product for detecting neurodegeneration using differential tractography
Described are a system, method, and computer program product for detecting neurodegeneration using differential tractography and treating neurological disorders accordingly. The method includes obtaining a first diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the brain of the patient and obtaining a plurality of diffusion MRI scans of a group of other brains. The method also includes generating a control diffusion MRI scan based on the plurality of diffusion MRI scans of the group of other brains. The method further includes determining a first anisotropy of first neural tracks of the first diffusion MRI scan and a second anisotropy of second neural tracks of the control diffusion MRI scan. The method further includes determining a differential by comparing the first anisotropy to the second anisotropy and identifying at least one neurological disorder based on the differential and a location of the first neural tracks in the brain of the patient.
DETECTOR ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
Provided is a detector assembly for determining a ratio of lactate to pyruvate from dialysis, said detector assembly comprising: a first pump, a dialysis probe, a first tube fluidically coupling the first pump to an inlet of the dialysis probe, an infrared (IR) detector, a second tube fluidically coupling an outlet of the dialysis probe to the IR detector, and a controller. The first pump pumps a perfusate at a first flow rate to the dialysis probe, via the first tube, and to, in turn, pump a dialysate at a second flow from the dialysis probe to the IR detector, via the second tube. The IR detector detects respective absorbances due to lactate and pyruvate in the dialysate, and the controller determines the ratio of lactate to pyruvate in the dialysate.
PET IMAGING OF CANCEROUS CELLS USING 18F-FLUOROACETATE
The present disclosure provides methods of imaging cancerous cells in a subject, wherein the cancerous cells are localized to the skeletal system or central nervous system of the subject, the method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of 18F-fluoroacetate, detecting a first signal emitted by 18F-fluoroacetate, and generating an image representative of the location and/or amount of the first signal to image the cancerous cells. In some embodiments, the methods further comprising diagnosing, prognosing, staging, and/or monitoring the progression of a disease or disorder, such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia and/or leptomeningeal disease.
NEUROSTIMULATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a neurostimulation system, in particular for Cortical and/or Deep Brain Stimulation, comprising:
at least one implant unit comprising:
at least one first antenna, and
at least one lead having at least one electrode array with at least one electrode; and
at least one wearable device comprising at least one second antenna,
wherein the at least one wearable device is configured to wirelessly control and wirelessly communicate with the at least one implant unit, and wherein the at least one electrode is made of reduced graphene oxide, such as hydrothermally reduced graphene oxide.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPTOGENETIC IMAGING USING SEMI-KINEMATIC COUPLING
Provided herein are systems and methods for imaging using a microscope system comprising removeable or replaceable component parts. Such systems and methods employ semi-kinetic coupling for easy, tool-free attachment of the microscope system to a baseplate. Systems and methods provided herein may comprise simultaneous imaging and stimulation using a microscope system. The microscope system can have a relatively small size compared to an average microscope system.
CONNECTOME BASED NEURAL PROSTHESIS
In one aspect, there is provided a method performed by one or more data processing apparatus, the method including obtaining a baseline image of a baseline biological organism brain, obtaining a follow-up image of a target biological organism brain, wherein the follow-up image shows at least a damaged region of the target biological organism brain, processing the baseline image and the follow-up image to generate data defining a predicted anatomical microstructure of the damaged region of the target biological organism brain before the target biological organism brain was damaged, and generating a design for a neural prosthesis for replacing the damaged region of the target biological organism brain based on the predicted anatomical microstructure of the damaged region of the target biological organism brain before the target biological organism brain was damaged.
Method for diagnosing neurological disorder by magnetic resonance imaging
Disclosed herein is a method for diagnosing a neurological disorder based on at least one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) image. The method includes identifying brain image regions that contain a respective portion of diffusion index values of at least one diffusion index. For each of the brain image regions, a characteristic parameter based on the respective portion of the diffusion index values is calculated. a diagnoses is then made for the brain using one of predetermined categories of the neurological disorder by performing classification on a combination of the characteristic parameters via a classifier.
INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM
An information processing method includes: obtaining first image data indicating an image of at least one portion of a face of a target person from a camera connected to or built into a first computer; obtaining cerebral blood flow information indicating a state of cerebral blood flow of the target person from a detector that is connected to or built into the first computer and that detects the cerebral blood flow information; and displaying, on a display connected to or built into a second computer connected to the first computer through a remote network, an output image including a first image based on the first image data and a second image based on the cerebral blood flow information. The first image is a moving image including the at least one portion of the face, and the second image indicates changes over time in the cerebral blood flow information.

Devices and methods are disclosed related to combined ultrasonic stimulation and photometry. A device can include an ultrasonic transducer and an optical delivery element integrated with the ultrasonic transducer. The ultrasonic transducer can deliver ultrasound energy at a tip of the optical delivery element. In certain embodiments, the optical delivery element can be an optical fiber. A detector can generate an indication of a cell response associated with the delivered ultrasound energy.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EYELID LOCALIZATION
Systems and methods for localizing an upper eyelid in an image of a subject are provided. An image of an eye of the subject is obtained in electronic format. The image is inputted into a trained neural network comprising at least 10,000 parameters, thereby obtaining a set of coordinates for an upper eyelid in the image. This obtaining and inputting can be repeated over the course of a non-zero duration thereby obtaining a corresponding set of coordinates for the upper eyelid in each image in a plurality of images. Each corresponding set of coordinates for the upper eyelid from each image in the plurality of images can be used to determine whether the subject is afflicted with a neurological condition.
