NON-INVASIVE MONITORING OF INTRACRANIAL HEMORRHAGE
A method of assessing intracranial hemorrhage in a subject may include at a first time point: measuring, for a plurality of times, optical density (OD) value at first location on a first side of a head of the subject at a first time point, and a first corresponding location on a second side of the head of the subject. Change in optical density (ΔOD) is computed by subtracting each OD value measured on the first side from each corresponding OD value measured on the second side. A predetermined number of largest absolute ΔOD values are eliminated from the ΔOD values and a first average ΔOD value is computed by averaging the remainder of ΔOD values. The process is repeated at a second time point to obtain a second average ΔOD. Progression of intracranial hemorrhage is determined based on a difference between the first average ΔOD and the second average ΔOD.
DEVICE FOR OPTICAL MEASUREMENT OF LIVING BODY, ANALYSIS DEVICE, AND ANALYSIS METHOD
A device is provided for the optical measurement of a living body. For the purpose of separating a signal coming from the change in hemodynamics in a deep part from a signal coming from the change in hemodynamics in skin, light irradiation sites and light detection sites are positioned so that the measurement is achieved employing at least two SD distances. At two SD distances, the change in a logarithmic value of the detected light at every time point is determined employing a logarithmic value of the amount of detected light under specific conditions or at a specific time point as a starting point. A gradient value for a differential SD distance, which is a difference between the amount of change obtained by the measurement at a longer SD distance and the change obtained by measurement at a shorter SD distance, is used as a measurement amount.
System and method for modeling brain dynamics in normal and diseased states
A system and method is provided for modeling brain dynamics in normal and diseased states.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING NEUROVASCULAR REACTIVITY TO BRAIN STIMULATION
System and methods for stimulating the neurovascular system of the cerebral tissue through optimally placed devices, while simultaneously measuring the evoked neuronal and hemodynamic responses, also using optimally placed devices, is disclosed. Systems and methods for iteratively stimulating the neurovascular system and recording neuronal and hemodynamic responses are also disclosed. Further, a method for determining cerebral neurovascular functioning from the combined stimulation and measurement is disclosed, for use in diagnosis of neurovascular disorders.
System and method for multi-modality quantification of neuroinflammation in central nervous system diseases
Methods and systems for diagnosing a condition of a central nervous system are provided. A method includes providing a DBSI-MRI data set obtained from the central nervous system of the subject, and transforming the DBSI-MRI data set to obtain at least one DBSI biomarker value. The method further includes comparing each DBSI biomarker value to at least one corresponding threshold value from a diagnostic database to obtain a relation between each DBSI biomarker value and the at least one corresponding threshold value, and diagnosing the condition according to at least one diagnostic rule, wherein each diagnostic rule defines a candidate condition in terms of the relations between the at least one DBSI biomarker value and the at least one corresponding threshold value.
Pledget stimulation and recording electrode assemblies
Aspects of the disclosure relate to pledget stimulation/recording electrode assemblies that are particularly useful for automatic periodic stimulation. Embodiments are compatible with nerve monitoring systems to provide continuous stimulation of a nerve during surgery. Disclosed embodiments include an electrode assembly having one or more electrodes rotatably supported by and positioned within a pledget substrate. The flexible pledget substrate conforms and fixates to bioelectric tissue to secure the electrode assembly in position, wrapped around the target tissue. In some embodiments, the pledget substrate includes two bodies, each including at least one electrode, the two bodies being selectively separable so that the bodies can be repositioned with respect to one another. The electrode assembly further includes a lead wire assembly including at least one insulating jacket positioned around a wire core. Optionally, the electrode assembly includes an insulating cup interconnecting the electrode and the insulating jacket.
DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR CNS DRUG DEVELOPMENT
A decision support tool for development of drugs targeting central nervous system conditions. The tool receives measurements made on subjects, which are converted to model outputs using neurocircuitry models. The models are used by a computing device to generate neuro-circuitry based signatures. Neuro-circuitry based signatures associated with an investigational compound may be compared to reference neuro-circuitry based signatures to identify parameters of a clinical trial protocol. The neuro-circuitry based signature comparisons, when generated based on measurement data collected in early phases of a clinical trial process, may increase the likelihood that the investigational compound will quickly and cost-effectively emerge from clinical trials with proof that the investigational compound is effective for treating one or more CNS conditions. The decision support tool may also indicate early phase measurements to make based on a condition against which an investigational compound is theorized to be effective against.
User device based Parkinson's disease detection
A method and user device for determining a unified Parkinson's disease rating scale (UPDRS) value associated with a user of the user device include obtaining video data associated with a movement of a body part of the user. The UPDRS value is determined using a model and the video data associated with the movement of the body part of the user. The UPDRS value is provided to permit an evaluation of the user based on the UPDRS value.
Apparatus and method for measuring biologic parameters
Support structures for positioning sensors on a physiologic tunnel for measuring physical, chemical and biological parameters of the body and to produce an action according to the measured value of the parameters. The support structure includes a sensor fitted on the support structures using a special geometry for acquiring continuous and undisturbed data on the physiology of the body. Signals are transmitted to a remote station by wireless transmission such as by electromagnetic waves, radio waves, infrared, sound and the like or by being reported locally by audio or visual transmission. The physical and chemical parameters include brain function, metabolic function, hydrodynamic function, hydration status, levels of chemical compounds in the blood, and the like. The support structure includes patches, clips, eyeglasses, head mounted gear and the like, containing passive or active sensors positioned at the end of the tunnel with sensing systems positioned on and accessing a physiologic tunnel.
