Method and system for providing electrical stimulation to a user
A method for providing electrical stimulation to a user, the method comprising: providing an electrical stimulation device, in communication with a controller, at a head region of the user; with the electrical stimulation device, providing a stimulation treatment having a waveform configured for neuromodulation in the user; with the controller, performing an adjustment to the stimulation treatment, wherein performing the adjustment includes: generating a transformed waveform with application of a transfer function to the waveform, wherein the transfer function scales the waveform and selectively attenuates extreme waveform values while maintaining a frequency characteristic of the waveform in the transformed waveform; and applying the transformed waveform with the electrical stimulation device, thereby modulating the stimulation treatment.
BRAIN ACTIVITY ESTIMATION DEVICE
A brain activity estimation device includes a facial skin temperature acquisition element and a brain activity estimation element. The acquisition element detects a skin temperature of at least part of a human face, and acquires facial skin temperature data including detected temperature data and location data of a detection region in a time series manner. The estimation element estimates human brain activity based on the facial skin temperature data acquired. The estimation element decomposes the facial skin temperature data into a plurality of components, extracts a component as a determination component, and determines whether the determination component is related to the human brain activity based on a presence or absence of a temperature change in a prescribed region of the human face.
METHODS FOR AIDING IN DIAGNOSING AND EVALUATING A MILD TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY IN A HUMAN SUBJECT USING CARDIAC TROPONIN I
Disclosed herein are methods that aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of a human subject that has sustained or may have sustained an injury to the head, such as mild or moderate, severe, or moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), using cTnI. Also disclosed are methods for determining whether to perform a head computerized tomography on a subject by detecting levels of cTnI. Finally, also disclosed are methods of outcome in subjects suffering from a mild TBI.
BIOLOGICAL TISSUE OBSERVATION APPARATUS AND BIOLOGICAL TISSUE OBSERVATION METHOD
Provided is a biological tissue observation apparatus including an optical fiber probe that receives fluorescence via an input end disposed at one end thereof and that optically guides the fluorescence toward the base end in the longitudinal direction, a photodetector that is disposed facing an output end disposed at the base end of the optical fiber probe and that detects the fluorescence output from the output end, and a scatter suppressing unit provided near the input end of the optical fiber probe.
Biosignal acquisition device and system, method for acquisition of biosignals
Disclosed is a biosignal acquisition device for the acquisition, in particular the concurrent or simultaneous acquisition, of optical and electrical biosignals. The optical and electrical biosignals are both received by an analog front end device for biosignals, with an opto-electric converter for converting the optical biosignals into electrical signals. Also disclosed are a system of a plurality of biosignal acquisition devices and a biosignal acquisition method.
HYBRID INTRACEREBRAL ELECTRODE
The invention relates to a hybrid intracerebral electrode comprising a narrow, elongated body intended to be implanted in the brain of a patient in order to carry out at least one multi-scale electroencephalographic exploration. Said hybrid intracerebral electrode comprises, in its active part, a plurality of first electrical contact elements forming stationary macro-contacts, and a plurality of second electrical contact elements forming movable micro-contacts. The hybrid intracerebral electrode is characterised by control means which are built into the electrode in a coupling tip integral with the body. The control means are designed to move the second electrical contact elements between a passive position in which same are retracted inside the body and an active position in which same protrude outside the body, and simultaneously to adjust the controlled projection length thereof with respect to the body of the electrode.
IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS INCLUDING LIGHT SOURCE, IMAGE SENSOR, AND CONTROL CIRCUIT
An image pickup apparatus includes: a first light source which, in operation, emits first pulsed light to project a first image of a first pattern at a first position in a predetermined region of a subject, and emits second pulsed light to project a second image of a second pattern at a second position, different from the first position, in the predetermined region of the subject; an image sensor including multiple pixels each including a photodetector that, in operation, converts received light into a signal charge, and a first accumulator and a second accumulator each of which, in operation, accumulates the signal charge; and a control circuit which, in operation, controls the first light source and the image sensor.
Non-Invasive Blood Flow Measurement
A system for determining blood flow to and from the brain of a patient includes a plurality of magnetic elements configured to be positioned adjacent to the neck of the patient and apply at least one magnetic field to the neck of the patient. The system includes a plurality of electrodes configured to be in electrical contact with the neck of the patient, the electrodes configured to detect a voltage induced across the neck of the patient responsive to the applied magnetic field and blood flow through the neck of the patient. The system includes a support component for holding the plurality of magnetic elements and the plurality of electrodes at the neck of the patient.
Population cohort-linked avatar
Avatars, computer program products, devices and systems are described that relate to at least one cohort-linked avatar comprising at least one avatar attribute that is at least partly based on an association of at least one physiologic activity of at least one member of a population cohort with at least one mental state.
Concentration presence/absence determining device and content evaluation apparatus
A concentration presence/absence determining device includes: a brain blood flow volume obtaining unit configured to obtain a brain blood flow volume of the user; a varying threshold obtaining unit configured to obtain a varying threshold that is a value smaller than the brain blood flow volume of the user at a base time; and an determining unit configured to determine that the user concentrates, when the brain blood flow volume obtained by the brain blood flow volume obtaining unit falls below the varying threshold obtained by the varying threshold obtaining unit.
