INTEGRATED DEVICE TO MEASURE VARIATIONS IN NEUROMUSCULAR CONTROL WHEN TRACING DEFINED TARGET PATTERNS AND A SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING THE INTEGRATED DEVICE
An integrated device that detects and stores, in digital form, the muscle movements that occur when an operator traces a defined figure or pattern with a pointing device, such as a laser beam. The movement data is stored and analyzed for monitoring and diagnosing a neuromuscular condition or neuromuscular variations. Movement disorders can be determined and progression and change analyzed over time using the stored data.

A system for providing neuronal stimulation signals configured to elicit sensory percepts in the cortex of an individual, comprising device for obtaining spatial information relating to the actual or planned position of a neuronal stimulation device relative to afferent axon(s) targeting sensory neuron(s) in the cortex of the individual and device for determining a neuronal stimulation signal to be applied to the afferent axon(s) via the neuronal stimulation device based at least in part on the obtained spatial information.
Movement disorder continuous monitoring and therapy system
The present invention relates to a movement disorder monitor, and a method of measuring the severity of a subject's movement disorder. The present invention additionally relates to a treatment delivery system for treating a subject in response to changes in the severity of a subject's symptoms. The present invention further provides for a system and method, which can accurately quantify symptoms of movement disorders, utilizing continuously obtained kinetic information to be analyzed, accurately distinguishing between symptoms of movement disorders and activities of daily living, relating quantified symptoms to a standard clinical rating scale, and correlating a subject's symptoms with certain physiological and environmental factors. The present invention still further provides for home monitoring of symptoms in subjects with these movement disorders in order to capture the complex fluctuation patterns of the disease over the course of days, weeks, months, or years.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SUBJECT ASSESSMENT
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for performing a clinical assessment of a neurological disease, disorder, or condition. In an aspect, a system may comprise sensors, which sensors are configured to acquire sensor data of the subject over a period of time; and which mobile electronic device, comprises: an electronic display; a wireless transceiver; and one or more computer processors configured to (i) receive the sensor data from the sensors, (ii) process the sensor data or features extracted therefrom using a trained algorithm to generate an output indicative of a state of a neurological disease, disorder, or condition of the subject, and (iii) based at least in part on the generated output, perform a clinical assessment on the subject.
Objective evaluation of neurological movement disorders from medical imaging
Systems and methods are provided for evaluating a patient for a neurological movement disorder. A three-dimensional medical image of a brain of the patient is captured and provided to an artificial neural network having at least one convolutional layer to provide a set of output values. The set of output values is provided to a machine learning model to provide a clinical parameter representing one of a presence of the neurological movement disorder in the patient and a response of the patient to a specific treatment for the neurological movement disorder.
HEARING SYSTEM WITH HEARING DEVICE BASED HEALTH CHARACTERIZATION AND/OR MONITORING AND RELATED METHODS
A hearing system is disclosed. The hearing system comprises an electronic device comprising a memory, an interface, and a processor. The hearing system comprises a hearing device comprising a memory, an interface, a processor, and one or more sensors. The system is configured to obtain sensor data, such as external sensor data from the one or more sensors. The system is configured to determine, based on the sensor data, such as the external sensor data, a health parameter indicative of a cognitive state of a user of the hearing device. The system is configured to determine whether the health parameter satisfies a first criterion indicative of a cognitive decline. The system is configured, in accordance with the health parameter satisfying the first criterion, to output a health representation associated with the cognitive state.

The present invention concerns an apparatus for treating neurological disorders comprising (i) at least one electrode implantable in the brain of a patient and (ii) a processing and stimulation device connected to the at least one electrode, wherein the processing and stimulation device comprises (a) at least one stimulation module adapted to generate a stimulation signal to be sent to the at least one electrode, the stimulation signal being characterised by a plurality of parameters, (b) at least one acquisition module of a signal characteristic of cerebral activity coming from the brain of the patient adapted to determine its power in at least one frequency band, and (c) at least one control module of at least one parameter of the stimulation signal as a function of the power of the signal characteristic of cerebral activity acquired, based on a transfer function having a saturating trend, wherein the transfer function is such as to set the at least one parameter (Va, Vd, Vf) of the stimulation signal (Vstim) differently dependent on a plurality of power ranges, by keeping the at least one parameter within a predetermined stimulation range ([Vi_HighThreshold; Vi_LowThreshold]) with i=a,d,f.
Device for estimating mental/nervous system diseases using voice
It is an object to provide a device for estimating a plurality of mental/nervous system diseases by the voice analysis, the device being capable of estimating either major depression or bipolar disorder. Furthermore, there are provided an estimation device including an extraction means for extracting an acoustic feature amount that is not affected by a location where voices are acquired, and a method for operating the estimation device.
INTELLIGENT DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
A controller and associated multi-axis sensor system for augmenting the automatic intelligent delivery of one or more drugs is provided. The controller and associated multi-axial sensor system are based on the detection and determination of particular physical lifestyle events. As a specific example, a pump augmentation system includes a six-axis accelerometer sensor, a gyroscopic pitch sensor and a controller. The controller is configured to receive motion data from the six-axis accelerometer sensor and orientation data from the gyroscopic pitch sensor. The controller provides a pump instruction signal for changing a delivery rate of a drug to a user based on the motion data and the orientation data. The system and methods are particularly suited for treating a user with Parkinson's disease.
Screening for neurological disease using speech articulation characteristics
Detection of neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease can be accomplished through analyzing a subject's speech for acoustic measures based on human factor cepstral coefficients (HFCC). Upon receiving a speech sample from a subject, a signal analysis can be performed that includes identifying articulation range and articulation rate using HFCC and delta coefficients. A likelihood of Parkinson's disease, for example, can be determined based upon the identified articulation range and articulation rate of the speech.
