SIMULATION AND DIAGNOSTIC TOOL FOR SENSORIMOTOR DISEASES

Computational models and methods and systems of using the model to estimate variable time delay in the sensorimotor system of a subject are provided. The computational model can estimate variable time delays in the sensorimotor system, predict sensory states based on delayed sensory feedback, and/or control the system in real time. The subject can be a human or a primate. Simulation experiments can show how the model can explain a sensorimotor system's ability to compensate for delays during online learning and control.

Method and System for the Assessment and Rehabilitation of Neurologic Deficits
20180360368 · 2018-12-20 ·

A system and method for the assessment and therapeutic treatment of neurologic function deficits through the evaluation of voluntary and involuntary neuromuscular activity and voluntary neuromuscular responses made on demand as a response to a cognitive skills test. The system permits the remote assessment and therapy of a patient through prescribed physical and cognitive skills regimens either through the remote direction of a therapist or through an artificial intelligence system that selects and modifies regimens based upon the analysis of historical data and/or real-time data. The combination of physical and cognitive therapy to require physical responses to cognitive queries is believed to improve patient outcomes by slowing, halting, or reversing the progression of certain neurological deficits.

Embodiments may provide multimodal diagnostic systems and methods for detecting neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, dementia and many others. For example, a system for monitoring brain activity may comprise a plurality of sensors, each adapted to monitor a physical or physiological parameter and output a signal representing the monitored physical or physiological parameter, wherein the plurality of sensors includes at least one sensor configured to monitor a brain activity parameter, a data collection device adapted to receive the plurality of signals from the plurality of sensors and to process the signals to form digital data representing the monitored physical or physiological parameters, and a data processing device adapted to process digital data representing the monitored physical or physiological parameters to determine presence of a neurological disorder or condition.

Digital qualimetric biomarkers for determining information processing speed

A method for automatically assessing information processing speed in a test subject is disclosed. In the inventive method, a first qualimetric activity parameter for sensorial transmission, cognition and motoric output activity is determined and a second qualimetric activity parameter for sensorial transmission and motoric output activity is determined. A third qualimetric activity parameter for cognition is determined by comparing the first and the second qualimetric activity parameters to each other, and the information processing speed in the test subject is assessed based on the first, second and third qualimetric activity parameters. The information processing speed can be determined by comparing the determined qualimetric activity parameters to a reference and the subject's cognitive impairment can then be determined from the processing speed. The inventive method can be computer implemented. A mobile device or system for carrying out the disclosed methods is also disclosed.
