A method of detecting injury to the brain such as stroke, concussion and cognitive dysfunction using a contrast agent and light source. The blood ocular barrier is disrupted when said injury occurs, allowing the entry of contrast agent into the aqueous and vitreous humor. An exemplary method comprises injecting a contrast agent into a peripheral location and then testing for leakage of contrast agent into the eye cavity by observing for light reflection, when a beam of light incidents on the contrast agent in the eye.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSESSING CONDITIONS OF VENTILATED PATIENTS

The disclosed system receives various physiological as well as physical information concerning a patient, and operational data from a ventilation device and medication delivery device, and provides the physiological and physical information, together with the operational data, to a neural network configured to analyze the information and data. The system receives, from the neural network, an assessment classification of the patient corresponding to at least one of a pain assessment, a sepsis assessment, and a delirium assessment of the patient based on providing to the neural network the determined physiological state of the patient, the determined physical state of the patient, the determined operational mode of the ventilator, the medication delivery information, and the received diagnostic information for the patient, and adjusts, based on the assessment classification, a ventilation parameter that influences the operational mode of a ventilator providing ventilation to the patient.

An image processing method or the like suitable for analyzing magnetic resonance image data using simple calculation is presented. Image processing apparatus processes magnetic resonance image data acquired by scanning multiple regions of a living body. MRI imaging apparatus scanning multiple regions of the living body to acquire magnetic resonance image data. Image processing unit generates phase difference image data from the magnetic resonance image data. Signal acquisition unit acquires a phase difference image signal from the phase difference image data. Statistic calculation unit performs statistical processing of the distribution of the phase difference image signal with respect to the phase difference for each region to calculate a statistic, for example. Examples of the statistical processing includes calculation of an average, a standard deviation, kurtosis, skewness, etc. Target material evaluation unit evaluates the amount of the target material included in multiple regions using the statistic for each region.

COMPOUNDS AND METHODS FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, IMAGING AND TREATMENT OF NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES AND DISORDERS

The present invention relates to methods of diagnosis and therapy for neurodegenerative diseases and disorders.

MAPPING CRITICAL BRAIN SITES USING INTRACRANIAL ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY AND MACHINE LEARNING

A system for performing functional brain mapping includes a memory configured to store first data from a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system and second data from electrodes. The system also includes a processor operatively coupled to the memory and configured to identify first edges in a brain network based on the first data from the MRI and second edges in the brain network based on the second data from the electrodes. The processor is configured to determine, based on the first edges and the second edges, connectivity metrics for the brain network. The processor is also configured to generate, based at least in part on the connectivity metrics, a decoder that differentiates between critical nodes and non-critical nodes in the brain network.

System and Method for Detecting Presence of Illness Symptoms
20230119965 · 2023-04-20 ·

A system and method for collecting symptomatic data to screen for a targeted disease. Testing hardware incorporates a plurality of testing units with corresponding indicators that can be altered to indicate whether a symptom is present or not. The resulting data from the testing use can then be analyzed to determine the likelihood of presence of a disease.

Method for diagnosing cognitive disorder, and computer program

Provided is a cognitive impairment diagnosis method including: receiving an electroencephalogram signal of a user by a cognitive impairment diagnosis device; preprocessing the electroencephalogram signal by the cognitive impairment diagnosis device; extracting features, by the cognitive impairment diagnosis device, from the electroencephalogram signal by using a brain connectivity-based analysis method; and outputting cognitive impairment diagnosis information of the user by the cognitive impairment diagnosis device, on the basis of features having a causal relationship with the cognitive impairment diagnosis information, among the extracted features.

System and method for detecting cognitive decline using speech analysis

System and method for detecting cognitive decline in a subject using a classification system for detecting cognitive decline in the subject based on a speech sample. The classification system is trained using speech data corresponding to audio recordings of speech from normal and cognitive decline patients to generate an ensemble classifier comprising a plurality of component classifiers and an ensemble module. Each of the plurality of component classifiers is a machine-learning classifier configured to generate a component output identifying a sample data as corresponding to a normal patient or a cognitive patient. The machine-learning classifier is generated based on a subset of available features. The ensemble module receives component outputs from all of the component classifiers and generates an ensemble output identifying the sample data as corresponding to a normal or cognitive decline patient based on the component outputs.

An electronic sensing and allocation system is provided for a distributed water infrastructure containing a plurality of differing appliances. The system may receive, from at least one sensor upstream of the plurality of differing appliances, a plurality of signals indicative of water usage within the distributed water infrastructure. The system may output a first indication of a first volume of water together with an indicator attributing the first volume of water to a first rate schedule, and output a second indication of a second volume of water together with an indicator attributing the second volume of water to a second rate schedule. The system may enable billing of the first and second volumes of water to a consumer at differing rates based on differing uses.
