Methods and magnetic imaging devices to inventory human brain cortical function
Techniques are described for determining cognitive impairment, an example of which includes accessing a set of epochs of magnetoencephalography (MEG) data of responses of a brain of a test patient to a plurality of auditory stimulus events; processing the set of epochs to identify parameter values one or more of which is based on information from the individual epochs without averaging or otherwise collapsing the epoch data. The parameter values are input into a model that is trained based on the parameters to determine whether the test patient is cognitively impaired. Graphical user interfaces are described for presenting MEG epoch data and a score that correlates to a likelihood of the test individual being cognitively impaired.
Method and apparatus for providing information needed for dementia diagnosis
Preferred embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus and method for providing information needed for dementia diagnosis. In the apparatus and method in accordance with preferred embodiments of the present invention, an MRI brain image and a PET brain image of a subject for diagnosis are received, the MRI brain image is divided into a plurality of regions, and then the MRI brain image is registered with the PET brain image. Then, a standardized uptake value ratio of each divided region is obtained from the registered image, and for each divided region, a standard value indicating the degree of proximity of a standardized uptake value ratio of the subject for diagnosis to the average value of the standardized uptake value ratios of the group of the Alzheimer's patients and the average value of the standardized uptake value ratios of the normal group, which are stored in advance, is obtained.
Sensory-motor generation of therapeutic musical tracks
A patient therapy method and program product are provided for communicating with a patient monitor to obtain data from a patient engaged in physical therapy. A library of musical features includes a plurality of coordinated musical tracks associated with respective functional therapeutic outcomes. The functional therapeutic outcomes include gait characteristics comprising at least at strike, cadence, stride length deviations. Based on a selected functional therapeutic outcome, musical tracks are selected and mixed together at a desired tempo. The tracks are adjusted based on changes in patient data.
Dynamic silk coatings for implantable devices
Provided herein relates to implantable devices and systems with dynamic silk coatings. In some embodiments, the dynamic silk coatings can be formed in situ or in vivo.
Brain-computer interface for facilitating direct selection of multiple-choice answers and the identification of state changes
Methods, systems, apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable media are disclosed utilizing brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). Various embodiments are disclosed to allow a user to directly select multiple-choice answers, to provide motorized wheelchair controls, and to allow a user to play a game via the BCI. When used in a cognitive assessment test, embodiments include the administration of unmodified standardized tests with results in the same or a similar format as those taken without a BCI. Various embodiments are disclosed to improve the accuracy of BCI test administration using a three-step process for each test question, which includes determining whether the user intends to select an answer, monitoring user brain activity to determine a selected answer, and verifying the selected answer. In addition, the selected answer may be verified by monitoring user brain activity in accordance with a hold-release process to determine whether a user intends to initiate a state change.
PREDICTION DEVICE BASED ON INTER-ORGAN CROSS TALK SYSTEM
An apparatus 1 comprises a subject data obtaining unit 11 for obtaining subject data M4 of an inter-organ cross talk indicator in each organ other than a specific organ, a pattern similarity calculation unit 12 for calculating, by comparing the subject data M4 with standard data 1 of the inter-organ cross talk indicator, similarity of patterns of the inter-organ cross talk indicators, and a prediction unit 13 for predicting the presence of a specific disease and/or the stage of the specific disease by using the similarity as a measure.
Methods for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders
The present invention provides objective methods of diagnosis and behavioural treatments of neurological disorders such as autism spectral disorders and Parkinson's disease.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING BLINK INHIBITION AS A MARKER OF ENGAGEMENT AND PERCEIVED STIMULUS SALIENCE
The present systems and methods provide a mechanism to assess viewer behavior, features of stimuli, and the interaction between viewer behavior and stimuli. The systems and methods described herein for quantifying blink response and blink inhibition provide moment-by-moments measurements of viewer engagement by measuring what is or is not engaging enough to warrant viewers' inhibition of blinking. The present disclosure describes measures of visual scanning, eye movements, blink data, and blink timing data to derive a measure of how engaged a person is with what he or she is looking at. Blink-related data as a measure of viewer engagement provides a mechanism for determining the most engaging spatial and temporal aspects of a stimulus.
REHABILITATION SYSTEM AND IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS FOR HIGHER BRAIN DYSFUNCTION
The present invention is a rehabilitation system for performing rehabilitation of higher brain dysfunction, and includes: an image processing apparatus that executes an app for presenting a patient a problem for rehab based on an image using virtual reality, augmented reality, or mixed reality and stores the patient's problem solution record as rehab record information; a practitioner-side terminal that receives the rehab record information from the image processing apparatus; a server that saves the rehab record information transmitted from the practitioner-side terminal; and a doctor-side terminal that receives the rehab record information from the server and displays the state of rehabilitation performed for the patient on the basis of the rehab record information.
SIGNAL PROCESSING APPARATUS AND SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD
A signal processing apparatus and a signal processing method are provided. The signal processing apparatus includes a memristor array, an input circuit, a first switching circuit, a second switching circuit, an output circuit, and a control circuit. The memristor array includes memristor units and is connected to source lines, word lines and bit lines. The control circuit is configured to control the first switching circuit to select at least one source line to apply at least one first signal to the at least one source line respectively, control the second switching circuit to select and activate at least one word line to apply the at least one first signal to a memristor unit corresponding to the at least one word line, and control the output circuit to output a plurality of second signals based on conductivity values of memristors of the memristor array.
