METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CORRELATING AN IMAGE CAPTURING DEVICE TO A HUMAN USER FOR ANALYSIS OF COGNITIVE PERFORMANCE
A method capturing eye movement data for detection of cognitive anomalies, includes a computer application displaying a frame on a display, capturing and displaying a video image of a user's face and eyes, while the user aligns the face to the frame, capturing and processing the face image to initiate an image eye movement capture process, outputting an indication on a display and moving the indication spatially to one of a plurality of images, capturing a video of each user eye, to track the position of the indication of the display, the image of each eye comprising a sclera portion, an iris portion, and a pupil portion, parsing the video to determine a reference images corresponding to eye positions, capturing the user's eyes while the user views familiar and novel images, and correlating the images of the user's eyes to the familiar or novel images using the reference images.
Device and method for effective, invasive, and amplitude-modulated neurostimulation
A device and method is provided for stimulation of neurons. The device includes a stimulation unit that can be implanted into a body of a patient and has stimulation elements that apply a stimulation signal to tissue of the patient to stimulate neurons in the brain and/or the spinal cord of the patient. Moreover, a measuring unit receive a measurement signal that reflects a neuronal activity of the stimulated neurons. Further, a control unit generate a modulation signal from the measurement signal, and modulates an amplitude of a pulse train with the modulation signal. Individual pulses of the pulse train include a first and second pulse portions that introduce and remove charge from the tissue. Moreover, the control unit varies a pause between the pulse portions until the synchronization of the stimulated neurons is minimized or falls below a predetermined threshold.
Wireless earpiece with transcranial stimulation
A wireless earpiece includes a wireless earpiece housing, a processor, and a transceiver configured to produce electromagnetic pulses capable of reaching a brain of a user. A method of stimulating the brain of the user using the wireless earpiece includes receiving a request at the wireless earpiece and generating an electromagnetic pulse in response to the request.
EVALUATION APPARATUS, EVALUATION METHOD, AND EVALUATION PROGRAM
An evaluation apparatus comprising: a display screen; a gaze point detection unit that detects a position of a gaze point of a subject who observes the display screen; a display control unit that performs display operation including first display operation of displaying question information that is a question for the subject on the display screen, second display operation of displaying a guidance target object that guides the gaze point of the subject to a target position on the display screen, and third display operation of displaying, at positions that do not overlap with the target position on a same circumference of a circle centered at the target position, a plurality of answer target objects that are answers for the question on the display screen after the second display operation.
Detecting cheating and changes in playing ability in partial knowledge and trick-taking games
Examples herein include systems for detecting cheating in card games, including bridge. The system can acquire board data for multiple events, the events including bridge games. For each event, determining performance values for a player based on the board data, wherein the performance values may additionally be based in part on timing data. The system can detect a deviation of by comparing the performance values against a threshold, wherein the threshold is based on past performance of known cheating players. Then the system can alert a user when the likelihood of cheating exceeds a threshold.
Word repetition in separate conversations for detecting a sign of cognitive decline
A computer-implemented method for supporting detection of a sign of cognitive decline is disclosed. In the method, two or more sets of conversation data of a target individual are obtained. The method includes combining at least two sets of the conversation data corresponding to plural different days to generate a combined set and extracting one or more linguistic features that represent vocabulary richness from at least the combined set. A feature that characterizes word repetitiveness in conversations across the plural different days of the target individual is calculated from the one or more linguistic features. The feature that characterizes the word repetitiveness is output.
DISEASE RISK ASSESSMENT APPARATUS, DISEASE RISK ASSESSMENT METHOD, COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM, AND FOOD FOR DEMENTIA PREVENTION
A disease risk assessment apparatus (100) includes an assessment unit (1) for assessing the risk of developing dementia in a subject, based on the concentration of an amino acid in the blood of the subject. The amino acid includes at least one selected from the group consisting of histidine, phenylalanine, leucine, isoleucine, methionine, threonine, glycine, glutamine, lysine, asparagine, homocysteine, cystathionine, S-adenosylmethionine, and S-adenosylhomocysteine.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A WEARABLE DEVICE FOR ACOUSTIC STIMULATION
In some aspects, a device wearable by a person includes a transducer configured to apply to the brain of the person acoustic signals.
INDIVIDUALLY TAILORED DELIVERY OF AGENTS TO OPTIMIZE EFFICACY
Technologies are described to control and optimize a delivery timing and dosage of agents, such as nootropics, in an individually tailored manner. Nootropics enhance cognitive functions, including executive functions, memory, creativity and/or motivation. Typically, nootropic regimes require a person to orally take multiple different agents at different dosages and at different times of the day. Embodiments are directed to instructing a delivery device to deliver an agent at a predefined time and dosage to an individual, receiving an input associated with parameters related to a physiological function and/or a cognitive function of the individual, and processing the input to analyze an efficacy of the agent. The predefined time and/or dosage for delivery of the agent to the individual may then be adjusted based on the analysis. The delivery device may be a standalone device or may be integrated with various other items.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TESTING OF MULTISENSORY INTEGRATION EFFECTS
Methods, computer program products, and systems for testing of multisensory integration of a user are provided as well as their association with cognitive and motor outcomes. In various embodiments, the method includes providing a first plurality of signals to the user from a first signaling modality. A second plurality of signals are provided to the user from a second signaling modality. Indications are received at a response sensor from the user in response to each of the first and second plurality of signals. Reaction times between each of the first and second plurality of signals and the respective indication are determined. An observed curve is generated based on the reaction times. A differential curve is determined from the observed curve and a predicted curve. An area under at least a portion of the differential curve is determined. When the area is above a predetermined threshold, an indication that the user has satisfactory integrated sensory information is provided. When the area is below the predetermined threshold, an indication that the user has unsatisfactory integrated sensory information is provided.
