TACTILE STIMULUS PRESENTATION DEVICE

A tactile stimulus presentation device includes a stage, a contact member, a drive mechanism, an information setting part, and a control part. The stage includes an opening and an arrangement surface, the arrangement surface on which a body part of a subject is arranged thereon so as to close the opening. The contact member is for giving a tactile stimulus to the subject by being in contact with the body part of the subject arranged on the arrangement surface of the stage through the opening. The drive mechanism is a mechanism for holding the contact member and moving the contact member in a direction substantially parallel to the arrangement surface and in a direction substantially perpendicular to the arrangement surface. The information setting part is configured to set information to be presented by gibing tactile stimulation to the subject by tactile stimulation. The control part is configured to control the drive mechanism to present the information set by the information setting part by giving tactile stimulation to the body part of the subject arranged in abutment on the arrangement surface.

Systems and methods of the present invention provide for generating a first, second, and third series of interface objects comprising a first and second sequence respectively, displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI). At least one visual indicator display object is also displayed that requires a switch between the first and second series of user interface objects. A user navigates through the first and second series of interface objects, including the visual indicator display object(s), and a score for the user is calculated according to a user input matching, or failing to match, a correct response associated with a task data defining a function skill demonstrating a cognitive ability of the user.

EEG MICROSTATES ANALYSIS

Using microstate data to evaluate Alzheimer's disease including dementia and/or mild cognitive impairment and/or depression and optionally provide treatment based on the diagnosis and/or modify treatment and/or diagnosis based on response to treatment, optionally as measured using microstate data. In one example, the method includes analyzing EEG data to generate one or more EEG parameter; and generating a risk for one or both of depression and MCI (mild cognitive impairment) based on said one or more EEG parameters. Optionally, the disease comprises MCI. Optionally, the disease comprises depression. Optionally, the one or more EEG parameter comprises a microstate-derived parameter. Optionally, the one or more EEG parameter comprises a microstate duration derived parameter.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS RELATED TO SEX- SPECIFIC METABOLIC DRIVERS IN ALZHEIMERS DISEASE

The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for use in the analysis of broad metabolic changes associated with neurological disorders. In particular, the present disclosure provides materials and methods relating to the use of metabolomics as a biochemical approach to identify sex-specific metabolic biomarkers of neurological disorders. Embodiments of the present disclosure include the use of sex-specific metabolic biomarkers to aid in the determination of whether a subject suffers from, or is at risk of developing, a neurological disorder, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD).

A SENSORY EVOKED DIAGNOSTIC FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF COGNITIVE BRAIN FUNCTION
20200237296 · 2020-07-30 ·

The clinical diagnosis and monitoring of patients with neurological conditions may be established through behavioral examinations, assessments or evaluations, or neuroimaging scans. The system and methods described herein diagnose the cognitive function of a subject by measuring the neural response of the subject to one or more naturalistic sensory stimuli. The system measures the subject's sensory evoked response to the naturalistic sensory stimuli by computing the statistical comparison between the subject's neural signal and either the raw stimulus signal or the stimulus' signal envelope. A latency value, or other signal feature, is extracted from the subject's sensory evoked response and a diagnosis of the subject's cognitive function is then made based on the identified latency value or other extracted signal feature.

Embodiments of the present systems and methods may relate to a non-invasive system with diagnostic and treatment capacities that use a unified code that is intrinsic to physiological brain function. For example, in an embodiment, a computer-implemented method for affecting living neural tissue may comprise receiving at least one signal from at least one read modality, the signal representing release of photons from mitochondria of the living neural tissue, computing at least one signal to effect alterations to the living neural tissue based on the received input signal, the computed signal adapted to cause transmission of photons to the living neural tissue, and delivering the photons to the living neural tissue to effect alterations to the living tissue.
