Imaging system for combine full-color reflectance and near-infrared imaging
An imaging system for acquisition of NIR and full-color images includes a light source providing visible light and NIR light to an area under observation, such as living tissue, a camera having one or more image sensors configured to separately detect blue reflectance light, green reflectance light, and combined red reflectance light/detected NIR light returned from the area under observation. A controller in signal communication with the light source and the camera is configured to control the light source to continuously illuminate area under observation with temporally continuous blue/green illumination light and with red illumination light and NIR excitation light. At least one of the red illumination light and NIR excitation light are switched on and off periodically in synchronism with the acquisition of red and NIR light images in the camera.
VELOCITY-MATCHED ULTRASONIC TAGGING IN PHOTOACOUSTIC FLOWGRAPHY
Among the various aspects of the present disclosure is the provision of systems and methods of velocity-matched ultrasonic tagging in photoacoustic flowgraphy.
Cancer detection systems and methods
A piece of medical information, e.g., a medical image of tissue, may be received for processing and analysis on a computing device or system. A region of the medical image may be analyzed to determine a presence of one or more contours in the region. One or more properties of the one or more contours may be extracted, where the one or more properties are inputted into a first algorithm to determine an indication of cancer for the region. The indication of cancer may be inputted into a second algorithm to generate a cancer score for the region.
VESSEL IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method for locating a vessel, the method comprising illuminating at least a portion of the vessel with a background light having a substantially high susceptibility to absorption by particles in said portion of the vessel; detecting backscattered light from said illuminated portion of the vessel; reproducing an image from said backscattered light; and identifying dark regions within said reproduced image.
Wearable devices with flexible optical emitters and/or optical detectors
A light-guiding earpiece configured to be worn by a subject includes a base comprising a speaker and at least one optical detector, a housing extending outwardly from the base that is configured to be positioned within an ear of a subject, and a flexible optical emitter configured to be conformable to at least a portion of the earpiece. The housing encloses the speaker and comprises at least one aperture through which sound from the speaker can pass. The flexible optical emitter may be integrally formed within the housing, and the housing may include translucent material that forms a light-guiding region through which light from the flexible optical emitter can pass. The optical detector may be a flexible optical detector.
Magnetic Probe Apparatus
A system and method for locating magnetic material. In one embodiment the system includes a magnetic probe; a power module in electrical communication with the magnetic probe to supply current to the magnetic probe; a sense module in electrical communication with the magnetic probe to receive signals from the magnetic probe; and a computer in electrical communication with the power module and the sense module. The computer generates a waveform that controls the supply of current from the power module and receives a signal from the sense module that indicates the presence of magnetic material. The magnetic probe is constructed from a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion of substantially 10.sup.6/ C. or less and a Young's modulus of substantially 50 GPa or greater. In one embodiment magnetic nanoparticles are injected into a breast and the lymph nodes collecting the particles are detected with the probe and deemed sentinel nodes.
Adaptive compression therapy systems and methods
Systems, devices and methods for providing active and/or passive compression therapy to a body part can include a compression device worn over a compression stocking. The compression device can have a pulley based drive train that is driven by a motor to tighten and loosen compression elements, such as compression straps, in a precise, rapid, and balanced manner. Sensors can be used in the compression device and/or compression stockings to provide feedback to modulate the compression treatment parameters.
Drainage devices and methods for use
Devices and methods for draining excess lymph fluid are disclosed. The device can be fixed to the blood vessel adjacent to the thoracic duct. The device can have a port for withdrawing lymph fluid exiting the thoracic duct. The device can have a cannula and/or subcutaneous port to draw the lymph fluid away from the thoracic duct and reduce hemostatic pressure in the lymphatic system.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LYMPH NODE AND VESSEL IMAGING
This disclosure provides a method for imaging lymph nodes and lymphatic vessels without a contrast agent. The method includes providing, using an optical source, an infrared illumination to a region of a subject having at least one lymphatic component, detecting a reflected portion of the infrared illumination directly reflected from the region using a sensor positioned thereabout, and generating at least one image indicative of the at least one lymphatic component in the subject using the reflected portion of the infrared illumination.
DEVICE, METHOD, AND PROGRAM FOR VISUALIZING NETWORK OF BLOOD VESSELS OF SKIN
A device of an embodiment includes: an optical mechanism; a control computation unit that controls driving of the optical mechanism, acquires a tomographic image of skin by processing an optical interference signal from an optical system, and calculates a network of blood vessels on the basis of the tomographic image; and a display device that displays an image of the network of blood vessels. The control computation unit sets a reference profile obtained by function approximation of an intensity profile in a depth direction of the acquired tomographic image, calculates a difference between an intensity value on the reference profile and an actual intensity value as an outlier V, the intensity values being those in the depth direction in the tomographic image, determines, as blood vessels or blood vessel candidates, coordinates with the outliers V within a predetermined blood vessel determination range, and calculates the network of blood vessels.
