Apparatus and method for detecting a presence of cancer
A method of examining breasts of a patient in an examination room to detect for potential breast cancer includes sliding a camera assembly along a rail between a pair of rail ends on a horizontal plane between a plurality of positions. A plurality of control thermographic images and a plurality of test thermographic images are recorded during the sliding movement to allow the camera assembly to consecutively record the control and test thermographic images of breasts of the patient from each of the plurality of positions. The camera assembly is slid to first and second optimal positions that are each disposed adjacent to one of the rail ends and in alignment with first and second sides of the breasts of the patient to capture images of the lymph nodes on the sides of the breasts.
Method of evaluating lymphatic system function
An embodiment relates to a method of evaluating a lymphatic system function including: selecting one or a plurality of lymphatic routes to be evaluated from a plurality of lymphatic routes existing in four limbs; determining an injection site of a visualization agent based on information on the selected lymphatic route and injection sites of peripheries of the four limbs corresponding to the selected lymphatic route; injecting the visualization agent from the selected injection site; and visualizing the injected visualization agent and evaluating functions of the one or plurality of lymphatic routes to be evaluated.
INDICATOR
A method for use in analysing impedance measurements performed on a subject, the method including, in a processing system, determining at least one impedance value, representing the impedance of at least a segment of the subject, determining and indicator indicative of a subject parameter using the at least one impedance value and a reference, and displaying a representation of the indicator
PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING METHODS AND APPARATUS
An earpiece module includes a plurality of sensor regions, each sensor region contoured to matingly engage a respective different region of an ear of a subject, and each sensor region including an electrode. The earpiece module is configured to detect or measure physiological information about the subject from the different ear regions via the respective electrodes.
Velocity-matched ultrasonic tagging in photoacoustic flowgraphy
Among the various aspects of the present disclosure is the provision of systems and methods of velocity-matched ultrasonic tagging in photoacoustic flowgraphy.
Image processing of streptococcal infection in pharyngitis subjects
A method for determining a disease state prediction, relating to a potential disease or medical condition of a subject, includes accessing a set of subject images, the subject images capturing a part of a subject's body, and accessing a set of clinical factors from the subject. The clinical factors are collected by a device or a medical practitioner substantially contemporaneously with the capture of the subject images. The subject images are inputted into an image model to generate disease metrics for disease prediction for the subject. The disease metrics generated by the image model and the clinical factors are inputted into a classifier to determine the disease state prediction, and the disease state prediction is returned.
DETECTING SENTINEL LYMPH NODES DURING SURGERY
A method for detecting sentinel lymph nodes during surgery. The method includes injecting a crystalloid solution into a region, measuring a plurality of electrical parameters utilizing a sensor, and detecting a sentinel lymph node among a plurality of lymph nodes based on the plurality of electrical parameters. The region is associated with a tumor in a patient's body. Measuring the plurality of electrical parameters includes measuring each respective electrical parameter of a respective lymph node of the plurality of lymph nodes. The plurality of lymph nodes are associated with the tumor. The sentinel lymph node is located at a shortest distance from the tumor among the plurality of lymph nodes.
Systems and methods for treatment of fluid overload
Various systems and methods are provided for reducing pressure at an outflow of a duct, such as the thoracic duct or the lymphatic duct, for example, the right lymphatic duct. A catheter system can be configured to be at least partially implanted within a vein of a patient in the vicinity of an outflow port of a duct of the lymphatic system. The catheter system includes first and second selectively deployable restriction members each configured to be activated to at least partially occlude the vein within which the catheter is implanted and to thus restrict fluid within a portion of the vein. The catheter system includes an impeller configured to be driven by a motor to induce a low pressure zone between the restriction members by causing blood to be pumped through the catheter when the restriction members occlude the vein.
Methods of using optical agents
In certain aspects, the invention relates to processes for using renally excretable optical agents to detect one or more tissues of the renal system of a surgical patient. In certain aspects, the invention relates to a kit including a biocompatible composition containing one or more optical agents and instructions for using the optical agent(s) in a process of the present invention.
