BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
The biological information measurement system of the present invention includes a test subject-side device provided in a toilet installation room, and a server communicable with the test subject-side device, the test subject-side device includes a sulfur-containing gas sensor sensitive to sulfur-containing gas and outputting detection data, a transmitter-receiver transmitting measurement data including detection data of the sulfur-containing gas detected by the sulfur-containing gas sensor to the server, and the server includes a database in which measurement data including detection data of sulfur-containing gas detected by the sulfur-containing gas sensor is accumulated and recorded with dates and times of defecation acts by being associated with test subject identification information, and server-side data analyzer that analyzes physical condition of a test subject on the basis of a time-dependent variation tendency of the measurement data accumulated and recorded in the database.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PERFORMING TISSUE CLASSIFICATION USING MULTI-CHANNEL TR-LIFS AND MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS
Described herein are methods and systems for analyzing a sample by applying time resolved laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy to the sample to measure lifetime time decay profile data relating to the sample, and applying multivariate analysis to process the data so as to classify a sample as, for example, normal or abnormal. The sample may be cells, fluid or tissue from any organ. The sample may be in vitro or in vivo. The data may be obtained in situ or in vitro.
LARGE INTESTINE CONTENTS' DIAGNOSIS AND ACOUSTIC CHARACTERIZATION
Systems, kits and methods are provided, which analyze the large intestine content and utilize acoustic signals detected during delivery of water into the large intestine and drained large intestine contents to derive large intestine characteristics such as microbiotal analysis. Systems may include a water delivery unit including a water supply and a nozzle connected thereto, configured to introduce water controllably into a patient's large intestine, and an analysis unit that provides information about the drained contents using optical examination or biological assays. The information may be related to acoustic analysis of signals from acoustic sensors that are attachable to a patient's abdomen. A variety of sensor configurations, positioning options, analysis strategies and large intestine characteristics are presented.
Gas supply apparatus
A gas supply apparatus includes: a gas supply conduit for supplying a gas to a digestive tract; a pressure detecting device which detects a pressure in the digestive tract; a flow regulating device which regulates a gas amount supplied from the gas supply source to the digestive tract via the gas supply conduit; a first control device which controls the flow regulating device according to a result detected by the pressure detecting device to supply the gas into the digestive tract so that the pressure inside the digestive tract becomes a set pressure; a second control device which controls the flow regulating device to supply a fixed gas amount into the digestive tract; and a gas supply mode switching device which switches between gas supply modes including a mode for executing control by the first control device and a mode for executing control by the second control device.
Method and apparatus for generation of combined magnetic resonance images
In a method and magnetic resonance (MR) apparatus for generating a combined MR image of an examination object, a first image data record of an examination object, generated from magnetic resonance data recorded with a first reception coil, is loaded into a computer. A second image data record of the examination object, generated from magnetic resonance data recorded with a second reception coil, wherein the first and the second reception coils are different reception coils, is also loaded into a computer. At least one interim image data record is generated by the computer by applying a mask function to the first and/or second image data record. An interim image data record is combined in the computer with the image data record to which no mask function was applied, or with the other interim image data record, to form a combined MR image.
System and method for the discrimination of tissues using a fast infrared cancer probe
Systems and methods utilize an infrared probe and discriminating software to rapidly discriminate normal tissue processes from normal tissue during surgery, physical examination of in-situ lesions, and in the assessment of biopsy and resected tissue specimens. Examples demonstrate discrimination of cancerous from noncancerous tissues. The discriminating software, i.e. the metrics, algorithms, calibrant spectra, and decision equations, allows tissue to be identified as abnormal or normal using a minimum of infrared (IR) wavelengths in order to be measured rapidly. The probe records IR metrics approximately 1000 times faster than current commercial instruments, i.e. on a timescale fast enough for clinical use. The probe uses a tunable mid-infrared laser with a small set of selected wavelengths that are optimized for detecting the chemical and molecular signatures of tissue specific lesions to include, but not limited to, cancer, preneoplasia, intracellular accumulations (e.g. steatosis), inflammation, and wound healing.
Systems and methods for use of a variable stiffness flexible elongate device
The following describes various applications and uses for a controllably rigidizable flexible device or sheath. Such rigidizing mechanisms can allow for a transition between a rigid state and a flexible state of a sheath. Rigidization can be applied along an entire length of a flexible sheath or along select portions of the sheath, and the rigidization can be of varying stiffness. Rigidization can be user controlled or automatically controlled using computer processes.
INTRA-OPERATIVE IMAGING
The present invention relates to the use of a NIR fluorescent probe comprising an aza-bicycloalkane based cyclic peptide labelled with a Cy5.5 dye moiety in the fluorescence- guided surgery of pathologic regions and to an optical imaging method that comprises using this fluorescent probe for the identification and demarcation of tumor margins during the surgical resection.
ABDOMINAL STATISTICS PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHODS
An abdominal statistics system including a low profile rapidly deployable sensor element having an acoustic sensor and vibration actuator that can be conveniently attached to the abdomen of a patient. The system acquires acoustic signals as gastrointestinal (GI) sounds, processes these signals, and provides actionable data to patients and their providers.
SYSTEM and METHOAD FOR USING A CAPSULE DEVICE
A capsule device configured to navigate through a patient's GI track is disclosed. System and method to turn on the capsule device based on acceleration is described. First the capsule is monitored at a slow sampling mode. Then the capsule is monitored at a fast sampling mode. A user can input hand motion to change the acceleration to turn on the capsule device.
