SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR TRACKING ABDOMINAL ORIENTATION AND ACTIVITY FOR PREVENTION OF POOR DISEASE OUTCOMES
The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to tracking abdominal orientation and activity for purposes of preventing or treating conditions of pregnancy, respiratory diseases or other types of medical conditions. In certain specific embodiments, the system, device, or method relates to identifying abdominal or sleep position orientation risk values, calculating and updating a cumulative risk value, comparing the cumulative risk value to a threshold, and outputting a warning when the cumulative risk value crosses the threshold.
ACTIVATION OF HOME APPLIANCE IN RESPONSE TO HOMEOWNER SLEEP STATE
Apparatus and methods are described including using a sensor to monitor a sleeping subject and generate a signal in response to the monitoring. A noise control device is controlled in response to the signal.
DELIVERY DATE PREDICTION
According to a first aspect, there is provided a computer-implemented method for predicting a date of delivery, comprising acquiring heart rate data for a pregnant user from wearable sensor system, determining a heart rate variability and/or a resting heart rate based on the heart rate data, and predicting the date of delivery using the resting heart rate and/or the heart rate variability.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING VAGINAL LACERATIONS DURING CHILDBIRTH
A vaginal dilation device is provided that may include any of a number of features. One feature of the vaginal dilation device is that it is configured to dilate vaginal tissue during labor to prevent tissue damage. Another feature of the vaginal dilation device is that it can be manually controlled to dilate vaginal tissue, or can be automatically controlled to dilate vaginal tissue. In some embodiments, the vaginal dilation device is configured to measure a force applied by the device to tissue. In other embodiments, the vaginal dilation device is configured to apply a constant force to tissue. In other embodiments, the vaginal dilation device is configured to expand at a constant rate. Methods associated with use of the vaginal dilation device are also provided.
WEARABLE DEVICE FOR DETECTION OF AMNIOTIC FLUID
The invention provides an article for detecting amniotic fluid, comprising a membrane layer, a transfer layer, an absorbent layer, and a base layer, wherein the transfer layer comprises an indicator composition. Further provided are methods of use of the article for obtaining an immediate, clear, and reliable identification of amniotic fluid leakage.
Systems and methods for determining parturition onset in animals
Systems and methods for determining timing of parturition onset in non-human animals are provided. Specifically, a software application platform which provides a user with the ability to receive customized information relating to an animal's estimated parturition onset as displayed on a user interface. A user can input data, for example, one or more animal specific biomarkers, and subsequently receive identification of a predicted parturition onset timing and customized recommendations and/or intervention steps for the specific animal.
DRUG DEVICE CONFIGURED FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
This invention relates to an ingestible drug delivery device configured for wireless communication with other ingestible drug delivery devices.
STRUCTURED MEDICAL DATA CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND REMEDIATING TREATMENT RISKS
A system for classifying structured medical data, with each item of structured medical data, the system comprising a processing module that parses items of structured medical data to retrieve values of respective fields of the one or more items of structured medical data, the one or more retrieved values representing a set of medical attributes; a classification module that selects a classifier based at least one of the attributes in the set and applies the classifier to the set of attributes to classify one or more items of structured medical data into a particular risk profile; a user interface that renders one or more controls for input data that confirms one or more of the risk factors of the risk profile; and a transmitter to transmit to a remote medical device, an alert that specifies confirmation of the one or more of the risk factors.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMAGE PROCESSING OF MEDICAL TEST RESULTS USING GENERALIZED CURVE FIELD TRANSFORM
A method for image processing medical self-test results receives a digital image of a visual indication of a test result. A digital image is generated of the visual indication of the test result that includes noise and distortions therein. The digital image is processed using generalized curve field transforms to extract relevant features of the digital image in a presence of the noise and distortions to create a transformed image. A diagnosis is generated based upon the transformed image to the plurality of images of the test results.
Birthing pool monitor system and method
A system (2; 4) for measuring the movement of a birthing mother in a birthing pool (1; 3), the system comprises: a) a birthing pool (1; 3), the pool (1; 3) comprising a base (11; 31) and a peripheral wall (12; 32) upstanding from the base (11; 31), the pool (1; 3) further comprising at least one motion sensor (21, 22; 41, 42), the motion sensor (21, 22; 41, 42) being located adjacent the peripheral wall (12; 32) and/or on the base (11; 31), and wherein the at least one motion sensor (21, 22; 41, 42) is configured or configurable to detect the movement of the birthing mother in the pool (1; 3); b) a processing means, e.g. a processor, operatively connected to the at least one motion sensor (21, 22; 41, 42); wherein the system is configured to monitor motion of the mother whilst located within the birthing pool (1; 3).
