METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE OBJECTIVE DETERMINATION OF CAPILLARY REFILL BEHAVIOR ON A HUMAN BODY SURFACE
A method for the objective determination of capillary refill behavior on a human body surface in which a spatially and spectrally resolved optical detection is carried out by at least one detector device (1) at a skin surface area (2) having a predefined areal size and outer contour. Subsequently a predefined pressure p constant over the skin surface area (2) is exerted over a predefined time t1; and the pressure effect is ended after expiry of this time t1. The spatially and spectrally resolved optical detection is carried out by the detector device (1) and the respective capillary refill behavior is spatially and temporally determined at a time t2 up to which at least one first threshold value of the measurement values detected simultaneously with spatial resolution has reached the measurement value that had been optically detected before the start of the pressure effect.
PERSONAL CARE DEVICE WITH CAMERA
A personal care system having a treatment device for applying a treatment to the skin or hair of a user is provided. The treatment device has a camera for taking an image of the skin. The system may include or be in communication with an application programming interface (API) that can process the image. The system or an associated API can recommend the use of treatment regimens or topical products according to information determined from the digital image of the skin.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF
A display device includes a touch sensor, a fingerprint sensor, and a sensor driver. The touch sensor generates a touch sensing signal in response to touch of an object on a display panel. The fingerprint sensor detects the object in a first mode to generate a first sensing signal and detects the object in a second mode to generate a second sensing signal. The sensor driver calculates a touch position and a moisture level of the object based on the touch sensing signal, generates fingerprint information based on the first sensing signal, and corrects the moisture level based on the second sensing signal.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING OR DETERMINING AT LEAST ONE BIOMECHANICAL PARAMETER OF SOFT BIOLOGICAL TISSUES
A method of measuring a biomechanical parameter of soft biological tissue is described. The method includes a pre-measurement process wherein an impulse applying device applies a pre-pressure to a surface of the tissue via an end portion contacting the tissue surface. While maintaining the pre-pressure, the device generates at least two impulses separated by a time interval, each impulse causing the end portion to impart to the tissue an action with certain parameters, each action inducing a response of the tissue. A value of a biomechanical parameter of the tissue is determined from each response induced. A determination is made as to whether the determined values of the biomechanical parameter are sufficiently similar to each other to indicate that the pre-pressure, the parameters of the end portion actions and the time interval are acceptable for use in a measurement process to be conducted on the surface of the tissue.
Pneumatic somatosensory stimulation device and method
A device for providing tactile stimulation of a subject via a pulse of compressible fluid, typically for medical diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The device preferably includes a high pressure fluid source and a low pressure fluid source. A pressure valve selectively connects the pressure sources to an outlet conduit. The outlet conduit includes an applicator for directing pulses against the skin of a subject. The pulses may be applied via one applicator or a plurality of applicators, and may be applied in one pattern or several patterns at various application sites. A method of providing tactile stimulation is also disclosed.
Device for stimulating skin regeneration
A device and a method for stimulating skin regeneration is described which allows exploiting the combined action of the surface vasculature (given by the action of the vacuum) and of the cellular regeneration (given by the electromagnetic field generated by a capacitive system) combined with the skin electrostimulation applied, in this case, so as to amplify the biological effect of the electromagnetic field.
Wearable device and method for estimating bio-information
A wearable device may include a main body, a sensor formed on a stem disposed on a side of the main body, and configured to acquire a partial fingerprint image of a finger of a user based on the finger being in contact with the sensor, and a processor configured to control a display to guide the user based on the acquired partial fingerprint image and a full fingerprint image of the finger to permit a measurement site of the finger to contact the sensor.
STRETCHABLE SENSOR FOR SENSING MULTIMODAL TEMPERATURE AND STRAIN, ELECTRONIC SKIN, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A stretchable sensor, electronic skin, and a method of manufacturing the same are proposed. The stretchable sensor includes a first stretchable electrode including a first elastomer and a first conductor dispersed in the first elastomer, a stretchable active layer formed on the first stretchable electrode and including a third elastomer and an ion conductor dispersed in the third elastomer, and a second stretchable electrode formed on the stretchable active layer and including a second elastomer and a second conductor dispersed in the second elastomer. The stretchable sensor and the method of manufacturing the same are effectively capable of sensing a temperature without being affected by strain and recognizing strain without being affected by temperature.
Electronic device and method of estimating bio-information using the same
An electronic device for estimating bio-information is provided. According to one embodiment, the electronic device may include a pulse wave sensor configured to measure a pulse wave signal from an object; a magnetic field detector configured to detect a change in a magnetic field generated by a magnetic field source according to a change in a force exerted by the object to the pulse wave sensor; and a processor configured to acquire a contact pressure between the object and the pulse wave sensor based on the change in the magnetic field and obtain bio-information based on the pulse wave signal and the contact pressure.
