Large packet daisy chain serial bus

A communication system for an industrial process includes multiple slave modules connected in series with a master controller. The master controller stores a communication schedule that defines an ordered sequence of messages and identifiers associated with each message. The master controller transmits messages downstream through the slave modules to a terminal one of the slave modules. The terminal slave module generates a return message that is transmitted upstream to the master controller. Each slave module receives each downstream message, identifies based on the message identifier whether the message is associated with response information from the slave module, and inserts the response information into corresponding upstream messages.

A control system includes a master apparatus that includes a calculation unit and a communication processing unit, and one or more slave apparatuses connected to the master apparatus via a network. The communication processing unit is configured to manage cyclic transmission, on the network, of a data sequence containing data that is handled by the master apparatus and the one or more slave apparatuses. The communication processing unit is configured to start cyclic transmission of a first data sequence that contains output data for the one or more slave apparatuses in conjunction with execution of output processing in the operation unit, and to start, a predetermined time period before execution start of input processing in the operation unit, cyclic transmission of a second data sequence for obtaining information collected by the one or more slave apparatuses from the control target.

Automation network and method for transmitting data in an automation network

An automation network comprises at least one primary subscriber, at least one switch, and at least one network subscriber. The primary subscriber comprises primary ports, the switch comprises switching ports, and the subscriber comprises subscriber ports, each comprising a transmitter and a receiver. The primary subscriber is configured to output first and second telegrams to first and second switching ports via first and second primary ports and first and second primary communication paths. The switch is configured to forward the first telegram to a first port of a network subscriber via a first subscriber communication path, and to forward the second telegram to a second port of a network subscriber via a second subscriber communication path. In an error mode, the switch and network subscriber are configured to return the first and/or second telegrams to the primary subscriber via the first and/or second primary port.

Power network monitoring systems are presented. In some embodiments, the system includes a master device installed in at least one substation among the plurality of substations, and slave devices installed in remaining substations except from the substation in which the master device is installed. Each of the slave devices may include a first PMU configured to measure data such as reactive/active power, magnitudes and phase angles of a voltage and current of the substation in which the slave device is installed. The master device may analyze data transmitted from each of the slave devices, may generate a command for taking action of a corresponding slave device based on an analyzed result, and may transmit the generated command to the corresponding slave device.

Information processing device and information processing method

Provided is an information processing device including at least one processor which executes an obtaining process for obtaining sensor data transmitted from each of sensors included in a sensor group, a converting process for converting the sensor data, which has been obtained in the obtaining process, into a particular format, and a providing process for providing, to main equipment, the sensor data whose format has been converted in the converting process.

System and method for communication between a commander device and a responder device

A device includes a master device, a set of slave devices and a bus. The master device is configured to transmit first messages carrying a set of operation data message portions indicative of operations for implementation by slave devices of the set of slave devices, and second messages addressed to slave devices in the set of slave devices. The second messages convey identifiers identifying respective ones of the slave devices to which the second messages are addressed requesting respective reactions towards the master device within respective expected reaction intervals. The slave devices are configured to receive the first messages transmitted from the master device, read respective operation data message portions in the set of operation data message portions, implement respective operations as a function of the respective operation data message portions read, and receive the second messages transmitted from the master device.
