Dental arch width measurement tool
Systems and methods for rapidly and reliably determining an arch with of a patient's dental arch. A patient's dentition may be scanned and/or segmented. Arch width may be determined between points of intersection on the occlusal surface and a long axis of each tooth between one or more of: canine, first bicuspid, first primary molar, second bicuspid, second primary molar, and permanent first molar. Arch widths of different modified versions of the patient's dentition may be dynamically compared the patient's starting dentition, or to each other, and may be dynamically updated as the user modifies or switches between one or more 3D models of the patient's dentition.
PREDICTION OF HEAD IMPACT EVENT MECHANISM VIA INSTRUMENTED MOUTHGUARD DEVICES
A method for prediction of a head impact event mechanism via an instrumented mouthguard device comprises receiving, as input, time series data representative of a head impact event, wherein the time series data is derived from the instrumented mouthguard device. The instrumented mouthguard device includes one or more accelerometers. The method further comprises generating an array of spatial coordinates representing points on a computer head model, and processing the time series data to determine a direction of impact and location of impact relative to the computer head model.
AREA OF INTEREST OVERLAY ON DENTAL SITE USING AUGMENTED REALITY
A system comprises an image capture device, an augmented reality (AR) display to display, and a processing device. The processing deice receives image data of a dental arch from the image capture device and processes the image data using a plurality of detection rules, where each detection rule detects one or more dental conditions. The processing device determines a dental condition for the dental arch based on the processing, determines a position of an area of interest on the dental arch, wherein the area of interest is associated with the dental condition, generates a visual overlay comprising an indication of the dental condition at the position of the area of interest, and outputs the visual overlay to the AR display, wherein the visual overlay is superimposed over a view of the dental arch on the AR display at the position of the area of interest.
System for Reminding a User to Brush the User's Teeth
An illustrative system includes two wearable devices configured to be worn near a jaw on opposite sides of a user's head, each device comprising: at least one microphone, at least two accelerometers, at least one loudspeaker, wherein the system is configured to process data acquired by the accelerometers and by the microphones to: detect chewing, and output an audible notification via the loudspeakers to notify the user to brush the user's teeth after chewing is no longer detected.
CARIES DETECTION DEVICE
A caries detection device includes: a screening optical system that irradiates a tooth with a near-infrared ray from a light source to detect transmitted light through the tooth; and a Raman scattered light detection optical system that irradiates a caries candidate area of the tooth detected from information of the transmitted light with a near-infrared ray from the light source to detect Raman scattered light generated from the caries candidate area.
System and method for fabricating a dental restoration
A system for fabricating a dental restoration to restore a plurality of teeth in a dentition of a patient is described. The dentition includes a restoration dental arch and an opposing dental arch. The restoration dental arch includes a restoration site and the opposing dental arch is opposite the restoration dental arch. The system includes an impression apparatus, a motion capture apparatus, an interference model generation system, and a restoration design system. The impression apparatus is configured to capture an impression of the dentition of the patient. The motion capture apparatus is configured to capture a plurality of location data points that represent the locations of the opposing dental arch relative to the restoration dental arch. The interference model generation system is configured to generate an interference model for the restoration site. The restoration design system is for designing a restoration using the interference model.
Modular Deformable Platform
A modular deformable electronics platform is attachable to a deformable surface, such as skin. The platform is tolerant to surface deformation and motion, can flex in and out of a plane of the platform without hindering operability of electrical components included on the platform, and is formed via arrangement of discrete flexible tiles, with corners of adjacent tiles connected by a flexible connection material so that individual tiles can translate and rotate relative to each other. Interconnects disposed on bases of separate tiles electrically connect adjacent tiles via their connected corners, and electrically connect components disposed on different tiles. Each pair of adjacent corner connections defines an axis about which at least a portion of the platform can flex without deformation and without hindering connections between tiles. The flexible material and/or bases of the tiles can include Parylene.
INTRAORAL MONITORING DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
An intraoral monitoring device includes a plurality of sensors integrated on a flexible substrate. The plurality of sensors includes first and second photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors. The first PPG sensor is coupled along an anterior portion of the flexible substrate and adapted to be located intraorally along a first anatomical location defined along a mid-line of a maxilla, facing the labial mucosa, directly at a septal branch of a superior labial artery in a front lip to consistently provide a plurality of first PPG signal, relating to a plurality of cardiorespiratory parameters. Further, the second PPG sensor is coupled to a rear portion of the flexible substrate, adapted to be located intraorally along a second anatomical location defined along the interior part of an oral cavity facing outward toward the labial mucosa to consistently provide a plurality of second PPG signals, relating to a plurality of muscular parameters.
Osteoporosis diagnostic support apparatus
Provided is an apparatus for measuring the thickness, roughness, and morphology index of the mandibular cortical bone using a dental panorama image to assist in the diagnosis of osteoporosis, wherein the thickness, roughness, and morphological index of the cortical bone is measured more accurately and the diagnosis of osteoporosis can be supported more accurately. An osteoporosis diagnostic support apparatus, wherein the apparatus has a contour extraction unit adapted to extract a mandibular contour from an image of a mandibular cortical bone photographed by a photographic apparatus adapted to photograph the mandibular cortical bone and surroundings thereof, a line segment extraction unit adapted to extract line segments from the image of the mandibular cortical bone photographed by the photographic apparatus; and a cortical bone thickness calculation unit adapted to calculate a thickness of the cortical bone based on the extracted mandibular contour and line segments.
System and method for providing mandibular advancement and sleep positional therapy
The present disclosure pertains to a system and method for providing mandibular advancement and sleep positional therapy to a user for a sleep session. The system is formed by a mandibular advancement device for treating obstructive sleep disordered breathing (e.g., obstructive sleep apnea and snoring) that includes an electronics module configured to aid in sleep positional training. The present system and method facilitate advancing a lower jaw of the user into a protruding position relative to an upper jaw of the user to increase a size of an airway of the user, determining whether a posture of the user has breached a posture threshold, and, responsive to a breach, prompting the user to change posture such that the posture of the user no longer breaches the posture threshold.
