INSTRUMENT FOR IMAGING THE ORAL CAVITY
Disclosed is a device for use in the oral cavity that includes a (1) handle, (2) camera, scanner, or other imaging device (collectively, “camera”), and (3) flexible stem having a first end attached to the handle and a second end attached to the camera. The stem can be moved by an operator into a bent (or curved) position suitable for taking images in various locations in the oral cavity, such as in the back of the mouth and/or behind the teeth. The stem requires an appropriate amount of bending force to be moved into a curved position and then out of the curved position into another position. The flexible stem is configured to require enough bending force so that it does not relax sufficiently to move out of position during normal use.
Smart athletic wear and related systems and methods
An athletic wear includes at least one of an athlete garment, a helmet, a glove, a wristband, a headband, a mouth guard, and a pad. A plurality of sensors and at least one camera are integrated into the at least one of the athlete garment, the helmet, the glove, the wristband, the headband, the mouth guard, and the pad. A processor is in signal communication with the plurality of sensors and the at least one camera for receiving, analyzing, and transmitting data signals obtained by the plurality of sensors and the at least one camera. The plurality of sensors are configured to obtain a wearer's physiological data, position data and movement data.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMAGING A JAW REGION
The disclosure relates to a technique for providing an image of diagnostically relevant area of a jaw region of a patient by means of a magnetic resonance apparatus by capturing information about the jaw region of the patient, which comprises at least one reference to a position and/or an extent of the diagnostically relevant area of the jaw region. The technique also includes adjusting a parameter of a magnetic resonance measurement as a function of the captured information about the jaw region of the patient, carrying out the magnetic resonance measurement with the adjusted parameter, capturing image data of the jaw region of the patient, reconstructing an image of the diagnostically relevant area of the jaw region as a function of the captured image data, and providing the image of the diagnostically relevant area of the jaw region of the patient.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR USER INTERFACING IN DISPLAY GLASSES
A wearable apparatus for display glasses is provided. According to certain embodiments, the apparatus includes a display configured to provide a display of information that includes at least two options for selection. The apparatus further includes an electromyograph device and a processor. The electromyograph device is configured to track muscle activity of a wearer of the display glasses. The processor is configured to determine a plurality of events based on the muscle activity. The plurality of events are associated with at least one of types of the muscle activity, occurring numbers of the types of the muscle activity, or occurring time of the types of the muscle activity. One of the at least two options is identified based on the plurality of events.
Device and method for measuring a movement of a mandible
The invention relates to a device (1) for measuring a relative position and/or movement of a mandible (UK) relative to a maxilla of a patient, comprising an emitting coil (8) for emitting an electromagnetic measuring field (5), at least one mandible sensor (US1), said mandible sensor (US1) being placed and/or can be placed on teeth in the mouth (U1-U8) or in the mouth on a mandible device (UK). The mandible sensor (US1) is designed as a sensor at least for determining a position in a measuring field (5) and/or relative to the emitting coil (8), also comprising an evaluation device (3) for determining the relative position and/or relative movement of the mandible (UK) relative to the maxilla (OK) based on positions determined by the sensor (US1). The sensor coil (8) is placed and/or can be placed outside of the mouth on the side or above the maxilla (OK). The invention also relates to a method for determining a relative position and/or movement of the mandible (UK) relative to a maxilla (OK) of a patient with a device (1), a device (X) for simulating and transferring a measured relative movement from the method and a holding device for at least one maxilla sensor (OS1) and/or at least one mandible sensor (US1).
Monitoring bone characteristics
The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus for monitoring bone characteristics for various conditions such as osteoporosis and/or periodontitis. In various embodiments, a dental hygiene appliance (100) may include: a handle (102) adapted to be held by a user; a tool (106) secured to the handle to perform a dental hygiene-related task; emitter(s) (114A, 116, 360A) mounted on the dental hygiene appliance to emit wave(s) (252, 362) towards a mandible (250, 350) of the user; sensor(s) (114B, 116, 360B) mounted on the dental hygiene appliance to detect wave(s) (254, 364) propagating away from the mandible, wherein the detected wave(s) originate from or are caused by the emitted wave(s); and a controller (108) communicatively coupled with the emitter(s) and the sensor(s). The controller may: receive, from the sensor(s), signal(s) indicative of the detected waves; and determine, based on the signal(s), bone characteristic(s) of the user.
DENTAL IMAGER AND METHOD FOR RECORDING PHOTOGRAPHIC IMPRESSIONS
A dental imager includes an elongated handle with a rotatable head coupled to a distal end thereof and having a central platform with a plurality of arcuate scanning arms pivotally coupled thereto by a hinge. The arcuate scanning arms are of a shape and size for general deployment around a tooth and each include at least one scanner and a roller guide that comfortably rolls along the surface of the tooth or gums to bias the scanners a desired distance from the surface of the tooth, conducive for imaging thereof.
