MOTION CLASSIFICATION USER LIBRARY
A method includes collecting reference motion data in a device from a motion sensor worn by a user for a movement having a predetermined classification. The motion sensor is attached to a limb having a joint. A user library entry is generated in the device based on the reference motion data and the predetermined classification. Additional motion data is collected in the device from the motion sensor. User motions in the additional motion data corresponding to the user library entry are classified in the device. Range of motion data associated with the user motions is generated in the device. A report is generated in the device including the user motions and the associated range of motion data.
NEGATIVE PRESSURE DRESSING SYSTEM WITH FOOT LOAD MONITORING
Embodiments of systems and methods for monitoring use of an orthopedic device are at least disclosed. In some embodiments, the system can include an orthopedic device, a housing, and a controller. The orthopedic device can provide support to a limb of an individual. The orthopedic device can include a magnet configured to generate a magnetic field. The housing can attach to the individual, and the housing can support a magnetometer configured to generate a signal responsive to the magnetic field. The controller can determine from the signal whether the individual is using the orthopedic device to provide support to the limb and accordingly output usage indications.
POSITIONAL FEEDBACK DEVICES
An apparatus comprising at least one sensor to detect the position and/or orientation of a body portion of a subject, the sensor in communication with a computing device to process sensor data and optionally a transmitter to transmit sensor data between the sensor and the computing device and/or one or more computing devices.
LASER-BASED IMPLANT ALIGNMENT AND RESECTION GUIDE SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
Laser-based implant guide systems and methods that align an implant with an axis of an anatomical structure of interest are disclosed. The systems include a target base configured to couple to a patient in alignment with the axis, and a target member configured to couple to the target base that includes a visual indication of the location of the axis. The systems further include an implant guide that includes a laser device and a resection guide. The implant guide is configured to adjust at least one of the position and the orientation of the laser device with respect to the anatomical structure of interest such that a laser line projecting from the laser device is aligned with the visual indication of the target member, and the resection guide facilities implantation of the implant in a resected portion of the anatomical structure of interest in alignment with the axis.
SARCOPENIA EVALUATION METHOD, SARCOPENIA EVALUATION DEVICE, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM IN WHICH SARCOPENIA EVALUATION PROGRAM IS RECORDED
A sarcopenia evaluation method in a sarcopenia evaluation device that evaluates sarcopenia based on a walking motion of a subject includes: acquiring walking data related to walking of the subject; detecting, from the walking data, at least one walking parameter of an angle of a knee joint of one leg in a stance phase of the one leg of the subject, an angle of the knee joint of the one leg in a swing phase of the one leg, a vertical displacement of a toe of one foot in the stance phase, a vertical displacement of the toe of the one foot in the swing phase, an angle of an ankle joint of the one foot in the stance phase, and an angle of the ankle joint of the one foot in the swing phase; and determining whether or not the subject has sarcopenia using at least one walking parameter.
IMAGING SUPPORT APPARATUS, MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING APPARATUS, AND IMAGING SUPPORT METHOD
An imaging support apparatus according to one embodiment includes an input interface and processing circuitry. The input interface receives input of first information about a disease or a case of a subject. The processing circuitry specifies, on the basis of the first information received by the input interface and second information in which the first information and posture information that expresses a posture of the subject suitable to perform imaging of the disease or the case are associated with each other, the posture information corresponding to the first information. Moreover, the processing circuitry causes a display to display the specified posture information.
COMPUTATIONAL FABRICS FOR MONITORING HUMAN JOINT MOTION
In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a method of determining an angular motion in a subject. The method generally includes one or more of the following steps of: (1) applying a wearable system to a body region of the subject; (2) utilizing the wearable system to sense one or more parameters; and (3) correlating the one or more parameters to the angular motion in the subject. In an additional embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a wearable system for determining angular motion in a subject. Generally, the wearable sensor includes one or more fabrics for sensing one or more parameters of a body region of a subject.
Ankle ergometer
Disclosed is an ankle ergometer for measuring a force exerted on a user's ankle joint by muscles involved in ankle mobility, including: a first splint-type portion receiving the lower limb when the user's knee is extended, and including a lower limb immobilizer with the leg in extension, and a second portion including: a) a main body attached to the first portion, b) a counter-supporting unit secured to the main body, c) a rigid plate forming a supporting surface for the lower surface of the foot, the rigid plate being substantially static relative to the counter-supporting unit, d) a force sensor between the plate and the counter-supporting unit, the plate not being secured to the main body so the sensor measures the force exerted on the supporting surface of the plate by the ankle mobility muscles, the force being transmitted from the plate to the counter-supporting unit.
Robotic knee testing device, subjective patient input device and method for using same
An apparatus for evaluating leg movement characteristics of a patient is provided. The apparatus comprises a base assembly configured to at least partially support the patient's torso; and first and second leg support assemblies independently pivotably mounted about a pivot axis relative to the base assembly. Each leg support assembly is configured to at least partially support a portion of a respective one of the first and second legs, independent of the support of the torso. Each of the leg support assemblies also comprises: a first leg support member including a foot rotation assembly configured to at least partially retain and support an associated foot of the patient and to rotate it about an axis of rotation relative to the base assembly; and a second leg support member configured for supporting a portion of the leg at a location proximal relative to the first leg support member.
Joint Test Data Visualization
A method of evaluating a joint includes obtaining test data indicative of movement of the joint during a test of the joint, generating visualization data for a three-dimensional representation of the joint to be rendered via a display, generating plane data for a representation of a plane to be rendered via the display with the three-dimensional representation of the joint, the plane having a position and an orientation fixed relative to a bone of the joint, adjusting the visualization data to animate the three-dimensional representation to depict, via the display, the movement of the joint during the test, and adjusting the plane data to update the position and the orientation of the plane in accordance with the movement of the joint.
