Notifications on a User Device Based on Activity Detected by an Activity Monitoring Device
Methods, systems and devices are provided for motion-activated display of messages on an activity monitoring device. In one embodiment, method for presenting a message on an activity monitoring device is provided, including the following method operations: downloading a plurality of messages to the device; detecting a stationary state of the device; detecting a movement of the device from the stationary state; in response to detecting the movement from the stationary state, selecting one of a plurality of messages, and displaying the selected message on the device.
System and method for determining sleep and sleep stages of a person
The present invention relates to a system and method for determining sleep, sleep stage and/or sleep stage transition of a person, including heart rate detecting means configured for detecting a heart rate of the person, movement detecting means configured for detecting a movement of a part of the body of the person, where the detected movement is caused by a skeletal muscle of the body, recording means configured for recording the detected heart rate and the detected movement of the part of the body, heart rate classifying means configured for classifying the recorded heart rate of the person into at least one heart rate class at least one heart rate variability class, movement classifying means configured for classifying the recorded movement into at least one movement class, and determining means configured for determining sleep, a sleep stage, a sleep stage transition and/or a sleep event of the person based at least partially on the at least one heart rate class and the at least one movement class.
Deep brain stimulation for sleep disorders
In some examples, a medical device delivers electrical stimulation to the external portion of the globus pallidus of a brain of a patient in order to treat a sleep impairment of the patient. In some examples, the electrical stimulation may be delivered via one or more electrodes implanted in the GPe of the brain. In some examples, an electrical stimulation device is configured to deliver electrical stimulation therapy to the GPe based on detection of a sleep state of a patient. The sleep state may include, for example, a state in which the patient is awake and intending on sleeping, is awake and attempting to sleep or has initiated sleep. In addition, in some examples, an electrical stimulation device is configured to deliver electrical stimulation therapy to the GPe based on detection of an awake state of a patient.
Collision Avoidance System and Collision Avoidance Method
A driver state detection unit detects a state of the driver of a host vehicle. For example, a drowsing state of the driver is detected. An outward warning device performs an outward warning operation pertaining to a warning directed at another vehicle traveling in the vicinity of the host vehicle. Then, an inward warning device performs an inward warning operation pertaining to a warning directed at the driver of the host vehicle.
LIVING-HABIT IMPROVEMENT DEVICE, LIVING-HABIT IMPROVEMENT METHOD, AND LIVING-HABIT IMPROVEMENT SYSTEM
A lifestyle improvement device includes: a lifestyle pattern generator configured to generate a lifestyle pattern based on biological information that is of information about physiology caused by object person's physical activity and behavior information that is of object person's dynamic information; and a lifestyle predictor configured to predict the biological information about the object person based on the lifestyle pattern generated with the lifestyle pattern generator.
SEAT RECLINING POSITION CONTROL DEVICE
A seat reclining position control device includes: a seat on which an occupant of a vehicle sits; an adjustment part configured to adjust an angle of a backrest of the seat; a sleep state detection unit configured to detect a sleep state of the occupant; a control unit that operates the adjustment unit to control the angle; and a vehicle interior detection unit configured to detect a vehicle interior state of the vehicle. The control unit implements a seat angle control to adjust the angle of the backrest for the occupant in the sleep state based on the vehicle interior state to a suitable sleeping angle suitable for sleeping when the sleep state detection unit detects the sleep state of the occupant.
WAISTBAND MONITORING ANALYSIS FOR A USER
Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable mediums for waistband monitoring analysis for a user are provided. In a particular embodiment, a waistband monitoring device is configured to generate a motion pattern based on motion data from a motion sensor coupled to the waistband monitoring device; receive physiological data generated by a physiological sensor coupled to the waistband monitoring device, wherein the physiological data indicates at least one vital sign of the user; identify an activity of the user that corresponds to the motion data and the physiological data; and generate an analysis of the user's performance of the identified activity based on the motion data and the physiological data.
Ship maneuvering assistance system, ship control device, ship control method, and program
In order to provide a ship maneuvering support system capable of coping with drowsiness of an operator, a ship maneuvering support system includes: a portable terminal carried by a ship's operator for detecting the operator's drowsiness, and a navigation device used for navigating the ship and performing a predetermined operation when the operator's drowsiness is detected.
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator with automatic detection of leg orientation and leg motion for enhanced sleep analysis, including enhanced transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) using the same
Apparatus for providing transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) therapy to a user, the apparatus comprising: a housing; an application unit for providing mechanical coupling between the housing and the user's body; a stimulation unit for electrically stimulating at least one nerve of the user; a sensing unit for sensing the user's body movement and body orientation; and a reporting unit for providing the user with feedback based on the user's sensed body movement and body orientation.
APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR MANAGING TASKS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALERTNESS LEVELS AND THRESHOLDS
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining data from a plurality of sensors at a first point in time, analyzing the data to identify a first level of alertness of a user, predicting a second level of alertness that is required by the user to operate a machine at a second point in time that is subsequent to the first point in time, comparing the first level of alertness to the second level of alertness to generate a first comparison result, identifying a first type of a first notification based on the first comparison result, identifying a third point in time to provide the first notification based on the first comparison result, wherein the third point in time is subsequent to the first point in time and prior to the second point in time, and providing the first notification at the third point in time.
