Driving light emissions according to a jitter specification in a fluorescence imaging system

Driving an emitter to emit pulses of electromagnetic radiation according to a jitter specification in a fluorescence imaging system is described. A system includes an emitter for emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation and an image sensor comprising a pixel array for sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation. The system includes a driver for driving emissions by the emitter according to a jitter specification. The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength from about 770 nm to about 795 nm and/or from about 795 nm to about 815 nm.

The present invention relates to endotracheal tubes for intra-operative monitoring of nerve and muscle tissue (neuromonitoring), a system for intra-operative neuromonitoring, a method for deriving stimulus responses in intra-operative neuromonitoring, and a method for classifying tissue types, having the purpose of preventing damage to nerves and muscles which run within the area of operation.

Apparatus for dilating bodily tissue and for monitoring neural activity in the dilated bodily tissue

An apparatus is provided herein for dilating bodily tissue and for monitoring neural activity in the distracted bodily tissue. In one aspect of the invention, the apparatus includes a first dilator having a tubular body with a distal end, a proximal end, and at least one electrode mounted about a circumference thereof; and, a second dilator having a tubular body of electrically-insulative material, the tubular body having a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therebetween sized to permit the second dilator to subsequently telescopically slide over the first dilator and come into overlapping coaxial alignment with the first dilator. A discrete window is formed through the tubular body, at or near the distal end, in communication with the lumen. With the second dilator being in overlapping coaxial alignment with the first dilator, the window is located to come into registration with at least one electrode such that, upon rotation of the second dilator relative to the first dilator, the window is positionally adjustable about the circumference of the first dilator. Advantageously, in addition to detecting the proximity of a nerve to the first dilator, the apparatus permits determination of the direction of the nerve from the first dilator. This facilitates more efficient re-positioning of the apparatus for avoidance of nerves, if a new path is necessary.

Methods for determining neurostimulation electrode configurations based on neural localization

Methods and systems for obtaining and analyzing electromyography responses of electrodes of an implanted neurostimulation lead for use neurostimulation programming are provided herein. System setups for neural localization and/or programming include a clinician programmer coupleable with a temporary or permanent lead implantable in a patient and at least one pair of EMG sensing electrodes minimally invasively positioned on a skin surface or within the patient. The clinician programmer is configured to determine a plurality of recommended electrode configurations based on thresholds and EMG responses of the plurality of electrodes and rank the electrode configuration according to pre-determined criteria. The clinician programmer further includes graphical user interface on which the plurality of recommended electrode configurations are displayed for modification and/or selection by a clinician in programming an IPG or EPG coupled with the lead to apply a neurostimulation treatment according to the selected electrode configuration.

This invention provides methods for mapping and ablating renal nerves to treat disease caused by systemic renal nerve hyperactivity, e.g. hypertension, heart failure, renal failure and diabetes. Also provided are catheters for performing the mapping and ablating functions.

Methods and Systems for Operating an Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring System in Conjunction with Electrocautery Procedures

Methods and systems for conditioning a signal indicative of electrosurgical unit activity are described. A hardware circuit acquires AC current from an electrosurgical unit on patient isolated circuitry and conditions the signal in either of two alternate processing methods. The processed signal is routed as input to an analog to digital converter circuit. A method for determining saturation on referential inputs and recovering inputs to an unsaturated state is also described.

Fiber tracking and segmentation

The present solution can segment tracts by performing two-pass tractography. The system can first perform deterministic tractography and then probabilistic tractography. The system can use the result from the deterministic tractography to update and refine initial identified regions of interest. The refined regions of interest can be used to filter and select streamlines identified through the probabilistic tractography.
