WIRELESS, WEARABLE, AND SOFT BIOMETRIC SENSOR
By applying a dry and freeform cut-and-paste method, an NFC-enabled wireless tattoo-like stretchable biometric sensor can be fabricated within minutes without using any chemicals, inks, or masks/stencils. This sensor is able to wirelessly receive power via a stretchable inductive coil and an NFC chip integrated on the sensor. Data measured by the sensor can be wirelessly transmitted via the same antenna and NFC chip. The sensor is fully stretchable and conformable to human skin and can follows the mechanical deformation of skin without mechanical and electrical failure or delamination. The sensor is imperceptible to wear and can perform high-fidelity sensing for physiological signals. Depending on where the sensor is applied, possible applications include measuring physiological signals such as skin thermography (body temperature), photometry (pulse oximetry, heartbeat), electrograms (ECG, EEG, EMG, EOG), electrical impedance (skin hydration, body fat) and mechanical motion (seismocaridogram, respiratory rate, joint bending).
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR PROVIDING ADVERSE CONDITION NOTIFICATION WITH ENHANCED WIRELESS COMMUNICATION RANGE IN ANALYTE MONITORING SYSTEMS
Methods, devices, systems, and kits are provided that buffer the time spaced glucose signals in a memory, and when a request for real time glucose level information is detected, transmit the buffered glucose signals and real time monitored glucose level information to a remotely located device, process a subset of the received glucose signals to identify a predetermined number of consecutive glucose data points indicating an adverse condition such as an impending hypoglycemic condition, confirm the adverse condition based on comparison of the predetermined number of consecutive glucose data points to a stored glucose data profile associated with the adverse condition, where confirming the adverse condition includes generating a notification signal when the impending hypoglycemic condition is confirmed, and activate a radio frequency (RF) communication module to wirelessly transmit the generated notification signal to the remotely located device only when the notification signal is generated.
DETERMINING RECOVERY INDICATOR WITH A MEASURED RESTING HEART RATE
Embodiments provide physiological measurement systems, devices, and methods for continuous health and fitness monitoring. A wearable strap may detect reflected light from a user's skin, where data corresponding to the reflected light is used to automatically and continually determine physiological attributes of the user. In particular, the wearable strap may be used to monitor heart rate data including a resting heart rate, a heart rate variability, and sleep qualitye.g., to generate a recovery indicator that provides a quantitative assessment of a physical recovery state of the user indicating whether the user is recovered and ready for exercise.
MOVEMENT BIOMARKER GENERATION USING BODY PART MOTION ANALYSIS
Disclosed embodiments describe techniques for body part motion analysis using kinematics. Two or more sensors, which include stretch sensors or inertial sensors, are attached to a body part of an individual. The two or more sensors enable collection of motion data of the body part. Data is collected from the two or more sensors, where the two or more sensors provide electrical information based on a micro-expression of movement of the body part. One or more processors are used for analyzing the electrical information from the two or more sensors. A movement biomarker is generated for the individual, using the electrical information that was analyzed. Subsequent data is collected from a subsequent attaching of the sensors to a body part. The subsequent data is analyzed to generate a longitudinal movement biomarker for the individual. The longitudinal movement biomarker can be used for clinical evaluation or treatment planning.
Method for identifying human joint characteristics
A method for identifying human joint characteristics, the method including the steps of: placing an item with a known characteristic near the joint, using a mobile imaging device, taking at least one image of the joint, and using the image and the known characteristic of the item to determine a joint characteristic of the joint.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING GUIDANCE FOR PLACEMENT OF A WEARABLE DEVICE
There is provided a method and apparatus comprising a processor to provide guidance for placement of a wearable device. At least one image of the body of a subject is acquired from one or more cameras (502). The at least one acquired image is analysed to recognise body parts of the subject and to identify a body part of the subject at which to place the wearable device (504). Guidance to place the wearable device at the identified body part of the subject is provided (506).
Electronic skin and manufacturing method therefor
An electronic skin is manufactured by disposing an oxide thin film transistor (TFT), a pressure sensor, and a temperature sensor on a flexible substrate. The pressure sensor and the temperature sensor are respectively located on two sides of the flexible substrate. The oxide TFT includes a first TFT and a second TFT. The pressure sensor is configured to drive the first TFT, and the temperature sensor is configured to drive the second TFT. The method for preparing the electronic skin is to form an oxide TFT, a pressure sensor, and a temperature sensor by means of etching and deposition on a flexible substrate whose double sides are covered with conductive materials. The electronic skin provided in the present invention may simultaneously measure pressure and temperatures, and has a simple structure, a low working voltage, small power consumption, high sensitivity, and small interference between sensor signals.
Portable electronic device as health companion
