20220386897 · 2022-12-08 · ·

A pelvic floor contraction detection system and method to evaluate pelvic floor muscle (PFM) exercise performed by a user are disclosed. The contraction detection system comprises a probe adapted to position within a pelvic cavity of the user, a data processing module, and a user interface. The probe comprises two or more sections. Each section is filled with a group of electronic sensors. The first and second sections are seated in contact with tissues of the pelvic cavity. The first and second groups of sensors are configured to detect pressure applied by the internal vaginal surface on the surface of the first and second sections of the probe respectively. The data processing module is in communication with the first and second groups of sensors and configured to calculate a number that is interpreted as the “quality of the contraction”. The data processing module determines the incorrect pelvic floor muscle contraction and notifies the user via a user interface.

Conductive polymer composite based sensor

One aspect relates to a conductive polymer composite based sensor, a detection unit comprising such sensor, a method for manufacturing a conductive polymer composite based sensor, and a use of the conductive polymer composite based sensor or the detection unit. The conductive polymer composite based sensor includes a substrate and a sensor material. The sensor material includes an insulating polymer matrix component and an electrically conductive component dispersed in the polymer matrix component to form the conductive polymer composite. The sensor material is pre-strained and applied to the substrate to form the sensor.

Mucosal impedance measuring apparatus for detecting and measuring the condition of mucosa

A mucosal impedance measuring apparatus detects and measures a condition of mucosa. The mucosal impedance measuring apparatus includes a catheter comprising a tube, impedance sensing electrodes on an exterior surface of the catheter, a balloon mounted on the tube in which the balloon is capable of inflation and deflation, and an impedance measuring system. The impedance measuring system is adapted to measure a pressure-regulated impedance measurement of the mucosa that is indicative of the condition of the mucosa when the balloon is inflated and the impedance sensing electrodes direct an electric current through mucosa while the balloon is pressed against the mucosa.

Method for predicting the probability of steam pop in RF ablation therapy

A method and apparatus that utilizes a force-time integral for real time estimation of steam pop in catheter-based ablation systems. The apparatus measures the force exerted by a contact ablation probe on a target tissue and an energization parameter delivered to the ablation probe. The exerted force and energization parameter can be utilized to provide an estimation of the probability of steam pop. In one embodiment, the force and energization metrics can be used as feedback to establish a desired contact force and energization level combination to prevent steam popping.
