Load Sensor Assembly for Bed Leg and Bed with Load Sensor Assembly
A bed comprises substrate support members, each including a load bearing and a base configured to provide contact with a floor. The load bearing member is configured to move vertically relative to the base, while the base and the load bearing member are configured to fit together to maintain lateral alignment of the base and the load bearing member. A load sensor is positioned between the base and the load bearing member, the load bearing member configured to transmit a load from the substrate to the load sensor. A printed circuit board is in communication with the load sensor. A controller is in communication with the printed circuit board of each substrate support member and is configured to receive and process data output by the printed circuit boards.
VIBRATING PILLOW STRIP AND OPERATING METHODS
Introduced are methods and systems for: gathering human biological signals, such as heart rate, respiration rate, or temperature; analyzing the gathered human biological signals; and controlling a vibrating pillow strip based on the analysis.
Balance compensating device, body center measuring apparatus, balance compensation system, and balance compensation method
An apparatus for determining balance compensation includes a platform, sensors and a processor. The platform is configured for a person to stand on the platform. The sensors are coupled to the platform and measure at least one of a weight and a pressure. The processor determines a balance of the person based on the measurements of the sensors.
BED HAVING FEATURES FOR ESTIMATING CORE BODY TEMPURATURES FROM SENSING OF CARDIAC PARAMETERS AND EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE
A bed has a mattress. One or more temperature sensors are used, each sensor configured to: sense a temperature for the sleeper; and transmit, to a controller, temperature readings; one or more pressure sensors, each pressure sensor configured to: sense a pressure applied to the mattress by the sleeper; and transmit, to a controller, pressure readings. A controller may include a processor and memory, the controller configured to: receive, from the temperature sensors, the temperature readings; determine a skin temperature for the sleeper based on the temperature readings; receive, from the pressure sensors, the pressure readings; determine at least one cardiac parameter for the sleeper; and determine, from the skin temperature and the cardiac parameter, a core temperature for the sleeper that is different than the skin temperature and represents thermal state of a core of a body of the sleeper.
BED HAVING SENSORS FEATURES FOR DETERMINING SNORE AND BREATHING PARAMETERS OF TWO SLEEPERS
A mattress supports a left-side user and a right-side user. At least one acoustic sensor is configured to sense acoustic energy in the environment of the left-side user and of the right-side user. At least one pressure sensor is configured to sense pressure applied to the left-side portion by the left-side user and applied to the right-side portion by the right-side user. A controller is configured to receive at least one acoustic stream from the at least one acoustic sensor and at least one pressure stream from the at least one pressure sensor. Left-side snore/breath parameters and right-side snore/breath parameters are generated. The controller is further configured to, responsive to determining that a home automation rule includes a condition that includes at least one of the left-side snore/breath parameters and the right-side snore/breath parameters send an instruction to drive a controllable device to the controllable device.
Radiative warming system
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a warming system. The warming system includes a light device having a light source configured to be positioned proximate to a patient support having a patient support surface. The light source can also be configured to generate infrared radiation. The warming system can also include a flexible sheet having a first side configured to reflect at least some of the generated infrared radiation from the light device toward a portion of the patient support surface.
Sleep Monitoring System with Multiple Vibration Sensors
According to an aspect of the invention there is provided a system for use in monitoring one or more physiological states of a user, the system comprising one or more processors configured to: receive a pressure signal representing pressure within a cushioning layer supporting at least a portion of a user and an acoustic signal representing acoustic vibrations within the cushioning layer; and determine, based on the pressure signal and acoustic signal, the one or more physiological states of the user.
Bed having rollover identifying feature
A mattress has a first support portion configure to receive and support a first user and a second support portion configured to receive and support a second user. The first support portion and the second support portion are adjacent to each other such that the first user is capable of rolling over from the first support portion to the second support portion while sleeping on the first support portion. A sensor is configured to sense first pressure in the first support portion and sense second pressure in the second support portion. The sensor is further configured to transmit data of the first pressure and the second pressure. The controller is configured to receive the data and from the data of the first pressure and the second pressure, determine if the first user has rolled over from the first support portion to the second support portion.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING ENHANCED PAP METRICS
A system for obtaining and providing enhanced PAP metrics of a patient's sleep period includes: a pressure support device for use in providing a flow of breathing gas to the patient; a processing unit; and a number of auxiliary devices in wireless communication with the processing unit. Each auxiliary device of the number of auxiliary devices is structured to detect and collect sleep-related data of the patient. The processing unit is programmed to: receive data obtained by a number of sensors of the pressure support device during operation of the pressure support device in providing the flow of breathing gas to the patient; receive supplemental data obtained by the number of auxiliary devices while the pressure support device is not providing the flow of breathing gas to the patient; and determine the enhanced PAP metrics of the sleep period of the patient utilizing the data and the supplemental data.
SLEEP PHASE DEPENDENT PRESSURE CONTROL AND LEARNING METHODS TO OPTIMIZE SLEEP QUALITY
A bed includes components to control pressure of a sleep surface, for example based on sleep position and sleep stages of a user. In some embodiments target pressures for the sleep surface are iteratively adjusted over multiple sleep sessions so to achieve improvements in sleep states and/or sleep quality for the user.
