Patient movement and incontinence notification system

A notification system is provided that provides notification of patient events such as movement and/or incontinence. The notification system provides for a plurality of different pressure sensor pads as well as an incontinence pad to be used in association with a single monitor.

Patient mobility assessment device

Provided herein are patient mobility assessment devices having a mobility assistance device with an incorporated distance tracker for use in assessing the ambulation of a recovering medical patient. The distance tracker can be integrated into or removably attached to the mobility assistance device. The information obtained may be displayed on the mobility assistance device and/or at a nurse's station or other remote location for convenient monitoring of patient ambulation. Also provided herein are methods for evaluating patient ambulation using the mobility assessment device and optionally, provision of therapeutic ambulation protocols to a display on the device to assist with patient physical therapy and recovery.

Wheelchair foot sensor alarm

A foot sensor alarm for wheelchairs, detects if a wheelchair occupant's foot has fallen off of a wheelchair footrest. The sensor and alarm make a wheelchair occupant or care giver aware that a foot has fallen off of one or more of the footrests. Sensors may include contact closure sensors, with snap-action switches or magnetically actuated reed switches can be used. Battery-operated window alarms with piezoelectric sound emitters send out vibratory or audio sounds as alarms. An occupancy sensor seat pad is used to power up the alarm system. A flashing light emitting diode can be wired in parallel with each sound emitter to provide a visual alarm as well.

Wheelchair safety systems and related methods

A wheelchair system includes one or more servers. A software application is provided by the server(s) to be installed on a computing device (such as a mobile phone) communicatively coupled with the server(s) through a telecommunications network. One or more user interfaces displayed on the computing device, using the software application, include a traffic navigation selector configured to receive a user selection indicating that a wheelchair operator is preparing to cross a street. In response to a selection of the traffic navigation selector the software application may: determine whether vehicles are nearby; notify the wheelchair operator when to cross the street; notify the wheelchair operator how much time is left to cross the street; visually record the wheelchair operator crossing the street; and determine, based on receipt of sensory input from computing device sensors and wheelchair sensors, whether an accident has occurred and, if so, notify emergency personal and family/friends.

Method for performing lower limb rehabilitation training

A method for performing lower limb rehabilitation training comprises the steps of: (a) placing a training object's feet on a pedal in a limb rehabilitation training system, wherein the pedal comprises a pressure sensor and a location information sensor; (b) standing stably on the pedal to enable the pressure sensor on the pedal to record the body weight of the training object; and (c) sitting down on the saddle, thereby enabling: the pressure sensor on the pedal to monitor pressure variation between the training object and the pedal throughout the training of the training object, wherein the rehabilitation evaluating unit evaluates the physical status and rehabilitation status of the training object according to the physiological information and exercise information of the same collected by the sensing unit, and adjusts the exercise frequency and the exercise duration of the training object according to the physical status.
