The present invention provides a plurality of training modes for an electric walking rehabilitative device, including: constant speed mode, adaptive speed mode, strengthening push/pull mode, weight bearing mode, high frequency disturbance random speed mode, low frequency perturbation variable speed mode, direction control by handle push/pull forces mode, and slope mode, to improve the user's walking speed, muscle strength, balance, speed adjustment, direction control and slope walking.
System, method and computer program for capacitively recording electrical bio-signals
System for capacitively recording electrical bio-signals from a bio-signal source, wherein the system has at least one capacitive measuring electrode and at least one electronic evaluation unit which is coupled to the measuring electrode and is intended to evaluate the electrical signals from the measuring electrode, and wherein the system also has means for monitoring the quality of the capacitive coupling between the measuring electrode and the bio-signal source, characterized in that the means for monitoring the quality of the capacitive coupling have, in addition to the measuring electrode(s), at least two injection electrodes which are electrically separated from one another and are intended to feed injection signals into the at least one measuring electrode via the bio-signal source, wherein the system has signal generators for generating a first injection signal and a second injection signal which differs from the first injection signal, which signals are fed into the measuring electrode by means of the injection electrodes via the bio-signal source, and wherein the system has a determination unit which is set up to determine the quality of the capacitive coupling between the measuring electrode and the bio-signal source on the basis of the signals received via the measuring electrode on the basis of the signal components which are contained therein and stem from the first and second injection signals.
Enhanced visual and audio cueing system for rollators
Walker including a frame, a movement enabling system on the frame that enables the frame to be moved along a surface, and a cueing system that generates audio and/or visual cues to enable a user of the walker to be guided in their forward movement of the walker. The cueing system includes a control unit that generates signals based on stored content relating to cue generation, at least one cue generator that generates the audio and/or visual cues based on the signals generated by the control unit, and a communications module coupled to the control unit and that receives via at least one communications frequency transmissions to set or modify the stored content. The control unit sets or modifies the stored content based on the transmissions received by the communications module.
System for supervising an occupant of a wheelchair
A system (100) for supervising an occupant of a wheelchair relates to the field of electronics engineering. The system (100) enables an authorized person to effectively supervise the occupant. The system (100) further enables the occupant to control electrical appliances. The system (100) includes a plurality of sensors (102) configured to sense various parameters related to the occupant and the wheelchair. The sensed parameters are stored in a server (108), which enables the authorized person to effectively supervise the occupant and take necessary actions in case of the health of the occupant deteriorates. The system (100) also enables the authorized person to track the wheelchair, and to locate the wheelchair if the wheelchair meets an accident. Further, the system (100) enables the occupant to control the electrical appliances while sitting on the wheelchair.
Method and System to Track Weight Without Stepping on a Weight Scale
Embodiments herein provide systems and methods tracking the weight of an individual situated on a furnishing such as a chair or bed. One method generally includes receiving weight data at a weight sensor that is situated to recognize a change in weight on the furnishing, confirming that a fitness device is proximately located to the weight sensor, and transmitting the received weight data to a hosted service.
Multifunctional assessment system for assessing muscle strength, mobility, and frailty
This disclosure describes a multifunctional assessment system that can include a seating platform (e.g., chair, bench, or the like) for a subject, an image-capturing device, and one or more sensors directly or indirectly coupled to the seating platform. The image-capturing device (e.g., camera or motion sensor) records ambulatory motion of the subject, and the one or more sensors can detect at least one of a force or a motion of the subject, such as a seating motion, posture, weight distribution, and motions or forces associated with the subjects overall health. For example, motions or forces detected can be associated with a subject's ability to get up off the seating platform, sit upright, grip strength, and so forth.
System for predicting departure from an origin based on external factors
One embodiment of a monitoring system includes a sensing subsystem adapted to sense an external parameter within a region of interest relative to an occupant support or an occupant of the occupant support. The monitoring system also includes a processor. The processor is adapted to receive data representing the sensed external parameter and to execute machine readable instructions thereby causing the monitoring system to evaluate, based on the received data, a likelihood that the occupant will attempt an egress from the occupant support. The processor is also adapted to generate a notification of the likelihood of attempted egress.
PATIENT MOVEMENT AND INCONTINENCE NOTIFICATION DEVICES
A notification device is provided that includes a sensor pad, and an electronics module generates one or more notifications in response to signals received from the sensor pad. In a first embodiment, the sensor pad includes a pressure sensor for sensing pressure applied by a patient and generating a pressure signal, and conductive tracings for sensing moisture due to incontinence and generating a moisture detection signal when moisture is detected. In another embodiment, an absorbent sensor pad includes a sensor pad for sensing moisture and includes an absorbent chuck having a moisture-impermeable sheet with an absorbent material on an upper surface thereof, wherein the moisture-impermeable sheet has an aperture for receiving the sensor pad. The absorbent sensor pad may be provided in the form of a diaper.
