Examples of invasive biosensor alignment and retention features and methods are described. One example biosensor includes a housing comprising: a first surface defining a first opening, and a second surface opposite the first surface, the second surface defining a second opening, the first and second openings defining a substantially unobstructed pathway through the housing; a biosensor wire partially disposed within the housing and having an exterior portion extending through the first opening; a hollow insertion needle positioned within the pathway and extending through the first opening, the hollow insertion needle at least partially encircling the biosensor wire; and a biosensor retention feature collapsible against the first surface of the housing, the biosensor retention feature encircling and contacting the hollow insertion needle.

Terminal and method for controlling the same

The terminal includes a touch panel including first electrodes arranged in a first direction and second electrodes arranged in the second direction intersecting the first direction, a display panel attached to the touch panel and to display an image, and a processor to control the touch panel and the display panel. In a measuring mode, the processor is configured to: apply a driving signal to the touch panel, the touch panel being configured to form an electric field and/or magnetic field when the driving signal is applied, and determine body composition of a user based on a sensing signal output from the touch panel in accordance with eddy current, the eddy current being induced to a body of the user by the electric field and/or magnetic field formed around the touch panel.

Dynamic collection and distribution of contextual data

Techniques for automatically collecting data and updating social media profiles based on sensor data are discussed herein. A system can comprise an activity identification component that based on sensor data received by the activity identification component, identifies an activity associated with an entity of a mobile device, resulting in an identified activity. Additionally, the system can comprise an updating component that based on the identified activity, updates a social media profile associated with the activity with activity data related to the identified activity.

OLFACTORY IMPAIRMENT TESTING AND TRAINING PLATFORM
20230337963 · 2023-10-26 · ·

An olfactory testing platform for testing for olfactory performance and for prompting olfactory training. The kit contains a plurality of inhaler sticks, each of which includes a first indicia that is computer readable, and a second indicia that is human readable. Each inhaler stick provides a scent that is different than every other inhaler stick in smell or concentration. A computer application running on a smart device having a camera is used to identify each inhaler stick in the kit using the first indicia and to prompt a user to select a detected scent from a plurality of options in response to presentation of the first indicia to the camera of the smart device. The smart devise also captures cognitive functions and integrates performance of various cognitive domains with olfactory performance.

Geographic condition analysis in activity analysis for monitoring health concerns

A method, system, and/or apparatus for automatically monitoring for possible mental or physical health concerns. The method or implementing software application uses or relies upon location information available on the mobile device from any source, such as cell phone usage and/or other device applications. The method and system automatically learns user activity patterns and detects significant deviations therefrom. The deviations are automatically analyzed for known correlations to mental or physical concerns, which can then be automatically communicated to a relevant friend, family member, and/or medical professional.

Methods and apparatuses for dental images

Described herein are methods and apparatuses to obtain an image, or a set of images, of a patient's teeth from one or more predetermined viewing angles. These methods and apparatuses may include the use an overlay comprising an outline of teeth for each predetermined viewing angle. The overlay may be used for automatically capturing, focusing and/or illuminating the teeth. Also described herein are methods and apparatuses for using a series of images of the patient's teeth including a set of predetermined views to determine if a patient is a candidate for an orthopedic procedure.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MODE SWITCHING

Systems and methods described provide dynamic and intelligent ways to change the required level of user interaction during use of a monitoring device. The systems and methods generally relate to real time switching between a first or initial mode of user interaction and a second or new mode of user interaction. In some cases, the switching will be automatic and transparent to the user, and in other cases user notification may occur. The mode switching generally affects the user's interaction with the device, and not just internal processing. The mode switching may relate to calibration modes, data transmission modes, control modes, or the like.

Administering Exposure Treatments of a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Using a Smartphone App
20230377716 · 2023-11-23 ·

A method for administering an exposure treatment of a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) uses a mobile app and a server application. A user state of a patient undergoing a first step of the CBT based on the patient's condition during the first step is detected by sensors of the patient's smartphone. A situational state of the patient's surroundings during the first step is detected by the smartphone sensors. The mobile app determines whether the patient has made progress performing the first step. A user prompt is generated based on the user state and situational state. A next step of the CBT is configured based on the user state and situational state. The characteristics of the user prompt are generated using machine learning based on past task completions by the patient and other users so as to increase the likelihood that the patient will complete the next step of the CBT.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR COMPLIANCE CONFIRMATION AND INCENTIVES

Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for monitoring use by a user of a portable research device in accordance with at least one predetermined use criterion are disclosed. The disclosed examples include passively gathering data for assessing an identity of a user of the portable research device, processing the passively gathered data to produce assessment data indicating a possibility that the user is not a predetermined correct user of the portable research device, based on the assessment data, displaying a message to the user requesting a response from which the user's identity may be determined, and processing a response to the message to produce data indicating whether the user is the predetermined correct user.

SMARTPHONE-BASED MULTISPECTRAL DERMASCOPE
20230371885 · 2023-11-23 ·

Methods, apparatus and systems that relate to a portable multispectral dermascope are described. An example dermascope includes light sources having different spectral contents and configured to illuminate an area of the skin and at least one imaging sensor configured to collect light that it receives from the area of the skin. The dermascope also includes a processor to control illumination provided by the light sources to the area of the skin and process information associated with received light from the area of the skin to produce images of the area of the skin. In the dermascope, illumination from the light sources is controlled to provide illumination in a plurality of distinct wavelengths or range of wavelengths that produce differing optical responses of the area of the skin. The described methods and devices can be used to identify skin conditions using a compact and convenient device, such as a mobile phone.
