Methods and systems for compliance confirmation and incentives
Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for monitoring use by a user of a portable research device in accordance with at least one predetermined use criterion are disclosed. The disclosed examples include passively gathering data for assessing an identity of a user of the portable research device, processing the passively gathered data to produce assessment data indicating a possibility that the user is not a predetermined correct user of the portable research device, based on the assessment data, displaying a message to the user requesting a response from which the user's identity may be determined, and processing a response to the message to produce data indicating whether the user is the predetermined correct user.
Personal authentication apparatus system and method
A target authentication device includes an electrode to detect an electrical signal associated with a user of the device. The electrical signal represents an authentication code for the device. An authentication receiver module is coupled to the electrode. The module receives the electrical signal from the electrode and determines whether the electrical signal matches a predetermined criterion to authenticate the identity of the user based on the electrical signal. An authentication module is also disclosed. The authentication module includes one electrode to couple an electrical signal associated with a user to a user of a target authentication device, the electrical signal represents an authentication code for the device. An authentication transmission module is coupled to the electrode. The authentication transmission module transmits the electrical signal from the electrode. A method of authenticating the identity of a user of a target authentication device also is disclosed.
Methods and apparatuses for dental images
Described herein are methods and apparatuses to obtain an image, or a set of images, of a patient's teeth from one or more predetermined viewing angles. These methods and apparatuses may include the use an overlay comprising an outline of teeth for each predetermined viewing angle. The overlay may be used for automatically capturing, focusing and/or illuminating the teeth. Also described herein are methods and apparatuses for using a series of images of the patient's teeth including a set of predetermined views to determine if a patient is a candidate for an orthopedic procedure.
Texture interface for measuring bio-signal and bio-signal measuring apparatus including the same
A bio-signal measuring apparatus may include: a finger contact surface configured to be in contact with a finger of a user; an optical sensor configured to be disposed underneath the finger contact surface and sense a light when the light is reflected from the user, and a textured area formed on the finger contact surface at a boundary of the optical sensor, and configured to provide a texture different from a texture of a remaining area of the finger contact surface other than the textured area, so as to allow the user to feel a tactile sensation from the textured area when the finger is in contact with the finger contact surface.
System and method for diagnosing and treating disease
A device and method for treating disease involves inserting a scope into a patient's body, the scope having a light source, a camera and a cartridge connected thereto. The cartridge has two chambers separated by membrane, a first one of the chambers containing a virus, and a second one of the chambers being connected to a plurality of microneedles configured for extending into the patient's tissue upon insertion of the scope. Cells from the patient are removed via suction from the microneedles and are deposited in the second chambers. The membrane is then broken to mix the virus with the cells to infect the cells, and the infected cells are then transported back into the patient to treat the disease.
Compatibility method for individuals
A compatibility method for determining the likelihood that two individuals will be compatible wherein the method of the present invention implements a testing protocol that utilizes music. The present invention operably integrates with a music library of each user prior to implementing a testing protocol. The testing protocol incorporates a plurality of questions wherein the questions are provided to a user with an answer set for a user to select an answer therefrom. Subsequent selecting an answer, the software application of the present invention will cross-reference keywords in the answer with keywords in the lyrics of the songs within the music library of the user. The software application will then play an alternate song based on the keyword correlation of the aforementioned wherein the song initiates play prior to presenting the user with an additional question. The protocol continues with the software application determining an emotional quotient value.
MONITORING BONE CHARACTERISTICS
The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus for monitoring bone characteristics for various conditions such as osteoporosis and/or periodontitis. In various embodiments, a dental hygiene appliance (100) may include: a handle (102) adapted to be held by a user; a tool (106) secured to the handle to perform a dental hygiene-related task; emitter(s) (114A, 116, 360A) mounted on the dental hygiene appliance to emit wave(s) (252, 362) towards a mandible (250, 350) of the user; sensor(s) (114B, 116, 360B) mounted on the dental hygiene appliance to detect wave(s) (254, 364) propagating away from the mandible, wherein the detected wave(s) originate from or are caused by the emitted wave(s); and a controller (108) communicatively coupled with the emitter(s) and the sensor(s). The controller may: receive, from the sensor(s), signal(s) indicative of the detected waves; and determine, based on the signal(s), bone characteristic(s) of the user.
EXERCISED-BASED WATCH FACE AND COMPLICATIONS
Exercise-based watch faces and complications for use with a portable multifunction device are disclosed. The methods described herein for exercise-based watch faces and complications provide indications of time and affordances representing applications (e.g., a workout application or a weather application). In response to detecting a user input corresponding to a selection of the affordance (e.g., representing a workout application), a workout routine can optionally be begun. Further disclosed are non-transitory computer-readable storage media, systems, and devices configured to perform the methods described herein, as well as electronic devices related thereto.
Electronic device and method for contact tracing
A first electronic device includes an interface; microphone circuitry; memory circuitry; and processor circuitry. The first electronic device is configured to discover, via the interface, a first wireless network. The first electronic device is configured to receive, via the interface, from a second electronic device discovering the first wireless network, a voice biometric indicative of a second user. The first electronic device is configured to activate the microphone circuitry to detect an input audio signal. The first electronic device is configured to determine whether the detected input audio signal satisfies one or more criteria. The first electronic device is configured to, when the detected input audio signal satisfies the one or more criteria, determine a parameter indicative of a level of risk of exposure; and generate, based on the parameter, contact data.
