20190183365 · 2019-06-20 ·

A capacitive accelerometer device is provided, and includes a capacitive accelerometer module, a display device and a signal line. The capacitive accelerometer module includes one or more capacitive accelerometers for sensing an arterial acceleration pulse wave of a user. The display device includes a displayer and a speaker. The displayer is used to display the arterial acceleration pulse wave of the user. The speaker emits an audible signal according to a change value of the arterial acceleration pulse wave. The display device electrically connects to the capacitive accelerometer module via the signal line. The display device automatically senses the arterial acceleration pulse wave of the user and correspondingly generates the change value. The display device generates a prompt signal when the change value is equal to or larger than a predetermined value.

Externalized audio modulated by respiration rate

Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for closed-loop respiration entrainment based on spatialized audio signals. According to an aspect, based on a determined rate of a subject's respiration, spatialization of a virtual sound source is altered to simulate a distance or directionality to the subject. Simulating the distance, directionality, and/or source characteristics comprises processing sounds of the virtual sound source to generate a perception of the sounds being heard from one or more distances or directions with reference to the subject. The altered virtual sound source attempts to regulate the rate of respiration of the subject. An audio device outputs the sounds of the altered virtual sound source.

An image sensor in a first earcup captures an image of a pinna. First sound is output by a transducer in a second earcup located at the pinna and respective second sound is detected by each of one or more microphones in the second earcup located at the pinna. Based on the captured image and the respective second audio sound from each of the one or more microphones, a non-linear transfer function is determined which characterizes how sound is transformed by the pinna. A signal is generated indicative of one or more audio cues for spatializing third sound based on the determined non-linear transfer function.

A device includes an EMG processing application operable with a processing module to receive an output signal from EMG testing, wherein the output signal represents electrical activity of at least one muscle. The EMG processing application is operable to process the output signal to detect at least one type of waveform of a plurality of types of waveforms from the output signal and display the detected at least one type of waveform.

TECHNIQUES FOR GENERATING ALERTS BASED ON A RELATIVE LOCATION OF A WEARABLE DEVICE

Methods, systems, and devices that support techniques for generating alerts based on a relative location are described. A method may include acquiring physiological data associated with a user via a wearable device, the physiological data including at least temperature data, acceleration data, and photolethysmogram (PPG) data, or a combination of data. The method may include determining that the user is not wearing the wearable device based on the physiological data. The method may include determining a signal strength associated with a wireless connection between the wearable device and a user device associated with the user based on the user not wearing the wearable device. The method may include causing a graphical user interface (GUI) of the user device to display notification associated with the wearable device based on the signal strength failing to satisfy a threshold signal strength.

BIOCOMPATIBLE IMPLANTABLE SENSOR APPARATUS AND METHODS

Receiver apparatus for use with an analyte sensor, and methods of operation and manufacturing. In one embodiment, the analyte sensor is an implanted/implantable blood glucose sensor, including oxygen-based detector elements. The receiver apparatus is a wireless-enabled small form-factor device with limited functionality that can be easily worn or kept with the user on a continual basis, thereby obviating the need for a more fully featured receiver or smartphone for extended periods of time (e.g., one week). The exemplary oxygen based analyte sensor, with high degree of stability over time, enables the user to divorce themselves from the more fully functioned receiver or smartphone, since no external calibration of the sensor is required during the extended period. In one variant, the device is a lightweight wristband. Other variants include e.g., pendants, finger-worn rings, arm or head bands, skin patches, and even dental, subcutaneous, or prosthetic implants.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING AUDITORY GUIDANCE IN MEDICAL SYSTEMS
20190133552 · 2019-05-09 · ·

An auditory guidance system and method for medical systems and procedures are disclosed. A method for providing auditory guidance during a medical procedure includes selecting a song for playing during the medical procedure. At least a portion of the song is assigned to the medical procedure. Parameter information for at least one parameter associated with the medical procedure is obtained during the medical procedure. The obtained parameter information is compared against predetermined thresholds for each parameter. The portion of the song associated with the parameter information is modified in accordance with the comparison and the modified portion of the song is played to provide auditory guidance during the medical procedure.

SWALLOWING TRAINING APPARATUS

This swallowing training apparatus includes: a respiration detection part configured to detect a respiratory motion of a subject; and a controller. The controller is configured to: provide a trigger for swallowing induction to the subject on the basis of a detection result from the respiration detection part; detect that swallowing was performed by the subject; determine whether or not the detected swallowing was at an appropriate timing with respect to the respiratory motion; and output, to outside, information indicating a result of the determination.

System, method, use and information storage medium for practicing of an inhalation process

An inhalation training system and a method for practicing of an inhalation process and a method of operating a portable communications device in this respect and to an information storage medium are improved. An air flow during inhalation is converted into an acoustic signal, especially a whistling tone. The acoustic signal is picked up by a microphone of a portable communications device, such as a smartphone, and is electronically evaluated. The inhalation training system has a mouthpiece and a converter apparatus for converting the air flow into the acoustic signal and in addition has a holding apparatus for especially detachable holding of the communications device.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING AUDIO SIGNALS BASED ON MOTION DEVIATION

A system measures performance activity of a user using a motion capture device, such as one or more knee sleeves each a plurality of inertial-measurement unit. Captured motion characteristic data is classified against previously captured data and then mapped to particular audio effects, which are then altered in different ways depending on the classification and provided the user. The audio feedback works to improve the user's performance of the activity by changing between negative and positive feedback depending on the user's performance. The system regularly measures the motion capture data, altering audio effects provided to the user, until the user reaches an improvement goal.
