Method for accurately estimating a pure tone threshold using an unreferenced audio-system
Method for estimating a pure tone hearing threshold or a pure tone audiogram of a person with a non-calibrated audio-system, comprising the steps of performing a supra-threshold test at least over a portion of the audible frequency spectrum, wherein the audible frequency spectrum ranges particularly from 16 Hz to 20.000 Hz, wherein the supra-threshold test is performed on an unreferenced audio-system at a first relative sound level relative to a predefined output level of the unreferenced audio-system, determining the result of the supra-threshold test for at least a portion of the audible frequency spectrum, wherein the results of the supra-threshold test are provided particularly relative to the predefined output level of the unreferenced audio-system, determining from the progression of the determined result of the supra-threshold test at least one absolute pure tone threshold, wherein the at least one absolute pure tone threshold is provided in absolute physical units, particularly in decibels hearing level or decibels sound pressure level.
METHODS OF DETERMINING VENTILATORY THRESHOLD
A method of determining a ventilatory threshold for a subject engaged in an activity includes sensing heart rate information, breathing rate information, and motion information from the subject via a monitoring device worn by the subject; analyzing the heart rate information to identify one or more points in time where heart rate increased at a steady subject workload; and identifying the ventilatory threshold for the subject as occurring at a point in time where an increase in breathing rate lagged an increase in heart rate. The method also includes modifying when the ventilatory threshold for the subject occurs in time by presenting to the subject musical audio having a tempo correlated to frequency characteristics of a heart rate and/or breathing rate of the subject.
Sleep-inducing device
A sleep-inducing device, including: 1) a probe including a heart rate sensor detecting a heart rate of an infant's mother; 2) a sampling module collecting data with regard to the heart rate detected by the probe; 3) a first microcontroller unit (MCU) calculating the data transmitted from the sampling module and outputting a heart rate signal; 4) a second microcontroller unit (MCU) receiving and processing the heart rate signal transmitted from the first MCU; 5) a keyboard inputting, controlling and adjusting parameters of the second MCU; 6) a display displaying an operation/control state of the device; 7) a loudspeaker playing audio data of the heart rate signal processed by and transmitted from the second MCU; 8) a first memory storing the audio data of the heart rate signal; 9) a low dropout regulator (LDO) providing a constant voltage to the second MCU; and 10) a power supply.
Diagnosis of pathologies using infrasonic signatures
A medical device includes an acoustic transducer, which is configured to sense infrasonic waves emitted from a body of a living subject with a periodicity determined by a periodic physiological activity and to output an electrical signal in response to the sensed waves. At least one speaker is configured to output audible sounds in response to an electrical input. Processing circuitry is configured to process the electrical signal so as to generate a frequency-stretched signal in which infrasonic frequency components of the electrical input are shifted to audible frequencies while preserving the periodicity of the periodic physiological activity in the frequency-stretched signal, and to input the frequency-stretched signal to the at least one speaker.
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, AND PAIRING METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT DEVICE AND INFORMATION TERMINAL
An information management system according to the present invention includes one or more measuring devices and one or more information terminals configured to receive information related to measurement values from the one or more measuring devices. When each information terminal receives an input indicating that a measurement value displayed on one of the measuring devices and a measurement value displayed on the information terminal match each other, the information management system pairs the measuring device and the information terminal.
System and method to analyze waveforms for electromyography testing
A device includes an EMG processing application operable with a processing module to receive an output signal from EMG testing, wherein the output signal represents electrical activity of at least one muscle. The EMG processing application is operable to process the output signal to detect at least one type of waveform of a plurality of types of waveforms from the output signal and display the detected at least one type of waveform.
AUDIO BIOMARKER FOR VIRTUAL LUNG FUNCTION ASSESSMENT AND AUSCULTATION
A mobile device application prompts and conducts audio and/or video tests using a microphone on a smartphone, tablet or laptop in order to record and analyze a patient's speech, cough, breathing and other sounds in order to diagnose the patient with Covid 19, another ailment, or as having normal ranges not indicative of disease. The mobile device's tests and protocols use program instructions, AI processing and other automated tools to facilitate the speed and reliability of the testing.
Magnetometer Surgical Device
A magnetometer-based metal detection device and methods of use are described. The device includes a proximal portion, a central body and a distal portion, and at least one magnetometer positioned within or on the distal portion. The at least one magnetometer includes at least one sensor capable of sensing a magnetic field in three orthogonal axes. Also described is a method of calibrating the device to achieve rotational invariance, and a method of determining a directionality or directional line along which a target metal object lies.
System and method for generating music from electrodermal activity data
The Plant Choir™ system comprises a software program and hardware that measures the electrodermal activity of a person, plant, or animal and translates those readings into music on a computing device. The EDA readings of the individual subjects are translated via the software into musical notes in real time. The creation of the notes is synchronized to a master tempo in order to allow the subjects to play together in a unified fashion similar to a choir. A riff mode allows the subjects to produce multiple notes per beat. The music is rendered using a software synthesis algorithm that employs the pre-recorded sounds of real instruments. The software can also utilize MIDI devices if the operating system has that capability. The software allows the user to load and save their settings so they can create and experiment with their own choir configurations and musical scales.
