Notifications on a user device based on activity detected by an activity monitoring device
Methods, systems and devices are provided for motion-activated display of messages on an activity monitoring device. In one embodiment, method for presenting a message on an activity monitoring device is provided, including the following method operations: downloading a plurality of messages to the device; detecting a stationary state of the device; detecting a movement of the device from the stationary state; in response to detecting the movement from the stationary state, selecting one of a plurality of messages, and displaying the selected message on the device.
Reflective video display apparatus for interactive training and demonstration and methods of using same
A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A NOTIFICATION OF A MEDICAL CONDITION
A system and method for preliminarily identifying a medical condition in a monitored patient. A predetermined set of patient physiological parameters that are indicative of the presence of a medical condition is monitored. If all of the patient physiological parameters meet a predetermined criteria, a notification is activated that is indicative of the presence of the medical condition. Optionally, users are provided with guidance concerning additional patient physiological parameters to be checked to confirm the presence of the medical condition.
TOILET SYSTEM WITH SENSORS FOR MEASURING EXCRETION OUTPUT OF A USER
A toilet system comprising a bowl and an outlet, the toilet system being adapted for discerning between types of excretion excreted by a user of the toilet system, where the toilet system comprises at least one first sensor device configured to capture at least one signal indicative of a type of excretion excreted by a user of the toilet system, and at least one second sensor device configured to capture at least one signal indicative of a quantity of excretion excreted by a user of the toilet system.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSOCIATING SYMPTOMS WITH MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Disclosed is a system for associating a symptom with a medical condition. The system comprises a server arrangement, associated with a user device. The server arrangement is operable to: provide, to user device, a set of user activities; receive, from user device, information relating to selection of a user activity from set of user activities; receive, from user device, user input associated with selected user activity; analyse user input and assign performance score thereto; identify, based on performance score, one or more symptoms; and assign severity score to symptom for associating symptom with medical condition. Disclosed also is method for associating symptom with medical condition and computer program product to execute aforementioned method.
METHOD FOR CLASSIFYING MENTAL STATE, SERVER AND COMPUTING DEVICE FOR CLASSIFYING MENTAL STATE
A method of classifying a mental state of a user using a computing device, which includes a microphone, a camera, a display, a wireless communication unit, and a processor, and a mental state classification server is provided. The method comprises: by the microphone, detecting ambient noise of the user; by the camera, generating an image by photographing a face of the user; by the processor, checking whether each of ambient noise of the user, ambient brightness of the face of the user obtained from the image, and a face position of the user obtained from the image is suitable for a heart rate variability measurement environment; by the processor, controlling to display on the display images indicating whether each of the ambient noise, the ambient brightness, and the face position is suitable for the heart rate variability.
Monitoring and Management of Wearable Devices
Aspects of the present disclosure describe systems and methods that enable a user of a computing device (e.g., a smartphone, tablet, etc.) to interact with a wearable device worn by the user. In one embodiment, the computing device provides a touchscreen-based graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI displays a three-quarter view of a plurality of icons arranged in a ring, where each of the icons is associated with a respective health/fitness parameter (e.g., heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, etc.). The GUI enables the user to interact with the wearable device through the computing device, via swiping gestures, presses of icons, and press-and-holds of the icons.
WEARABLE SWEAT SENSOR
A wearable sweat sensor for detecting one or more analytes in human sweat comprises an optical module comprising at least one light source and at least one light detector; at least one sensor layer optically coupled to the optical module and having optical absorbance properties that are dependent on the concentration of a target analyte of said one or more analytes; and one or more processors in communication with the optical module. The one or more processors are configured to: cause light from the at least one light source to be transmitted towards, and/or through, the at least one sensor layer; obtain, from the at least one light detector, one or more optical signals reflected and/or transmitted from the at least one sensor layer; and determine, from at least one wavelength component of the one or more optical signals, a target analyte concentration.
DETECTION OF PHYSICAL ABUSE OR NEGLECT USING DATA FROM EAR-WEARABLE DEVICES
A system may obtain a set of features characterizing a segment of inertial measurement unit (IMU) data generated by an IMU of an ear-wearable device. The system may apply a machine learning model (MLM) that takes the features characterizing the segment of the IMU data as input. The system may determine, based on output values produced by the MLM, whether a user of the ear-wearable device has potentially been subject to physical abuse. The system may then perform an action in response to determining that the user of the ear-wearable device has potentially been subject to physical abuse.
Magnetometer Surgical Device
A magnetometer-based metal detection device and methods of use are described. The device includes a proximal portion, a central body and a distal portion, and at least one magnetometer positioned within or on the distal portion. The at least one magnetometer includes at least one sensor capable of sensing a magnetic field in three orthogonal axes. Also described is a method of calibrating the device to achieve rotational invariance, and a method of determining a directionality or directional line along which a target metal object lies.
