ANIMATING PHYSIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS ON 2D OR 3D AVATARS
Systems and methods are directed to animating subtle physiological processes directly on avatars and photos. That is, physiologically-grounded spatial, color space, and temporal modifications may be made to the appearance of an avatar to simulate a physiological characteristic, such as blood flow. More specifically, a frame of a video sequence and a physiological signal may be received. An attention mask may be generated based on the received physiological signal, where the attention mask includes attention weights indicative of a strength of the physiological signal for differing portions of the frame of the video sequence. Accordingly, a pixel adjustment value based on the physiological signal and the attention mask may be generated and applied to an identified pixel in the frame of the video sequence.
METHOD OF TESTING AN INFANT AND SUITABLE DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE TEST METHOD
The invention relates to a method of testing an infant, comprising the following steps: displaying a target on a screen; detecting contact made by the infant with the screen inside and/or outside the target; calculating a success parameter on the basis of the contact detected; and recording the calculated success parameter in a memory.
Portable monitoring devices and methods of operating same
According to one embodiment, an apparatus comprising a portable monitoring device to be affixed to a user. The portable monitoring device including: 1) a set of one or more sensors to generate sensor data indicative of physical activity of a user when the portable monitoring device is affixed to the user; and 2) processing circuitry coupled with the set of sensors, to detect that the user has been sedentary for a period of time, and cause the portable monitoring device to alert the user responsive to the detection to encourage the user to move.
Avatar-incentive healthcare therapy
An avatar-incentive healthcare therapy system has a physiological monitor for generating a physiological parameter indicative of physical health. An academic test for generating a test score is indicative of mental acuity. The avatar has outward characteristics and game play capabilities proportional to the physiological health and the mental acuity so as to incentivize improved physical health and academic performance.
Program, information processor, and information processing method for blending motions of a plurality of actors
There is provided a program, an information processor, and an information processing method that make it possible to blend motions of a plurality of actors captured by using a motion capture technique and to reproduce the blended motions in real time in an avatar or the like on a virtual space. The program causes a computer to implement a control function of dynamically controlling a motion of an avatar in a virtual space or a robot on a real space, the control function being configured to: capture motions of a plurality of actors on the real space from respective motion sensors attached to the actors; blend the motions of the plurality of actors on the basis of a predetermined algorithm; and dynamically control the motion of the avatar or the robot on the basis of the blend result to cause the avatar or the robot to make a motion reflecting the motions of the plurality of actors.
Tracking wound healing progress using remote image analysis
Systems and methods for tracking healing progress of multiple adjacent wounds are provided. In one embodiment, a system may include a processor configured to receive a first image of a plurality of adjacent wounds near a form of colorized surface having colored reference elements, determine colors of the plurality of wounds, correct for local illumination conditions, receive a second image of the plurality of wounds near the form of colorized surface, to determine second colors of the plurality of wounds in the second image, match each of the plurality of wounds in the second image to a wound of the plurality of wounds in the first image, and determine an indicator of the healing progress for each of the plurality of wounds based on changes between the first image and the second image.
REQUESTING ASSISTANCE BASED ON USER STATE
Assistance may be provided to a first user of a first device by monitoring sensors of the first device and providing assistance via a character presented by the device. Sensor data, such as audio, video, or biometric data, may be transmitted to a server, and a server may process the sensor data to determine a state of the first user. The server may determine to request assistance based on the state of the first user. The server may then send a request to a second device of a second user to guide the character presented by the first device. The second user may then provide assistance to the first user by guiding the character presented by the first device.
GAMIFICATION OF HEALTH AWARENESS BASED ON SLEEP PATTERNS
A user breeds a virtual life form by practicing good sleep habits and stays motivated toward practicing good sleep habits while enjoying breeding the virtual life form. A game server manages progress of a breeding game of a virtual life form, the game server including circuitry configured to acquire sleep data that at least includes a sleep pattern indicating a bedtime and a wake-up time of a user; store the acquired sleep data as a sleep history; and update the breeding game based on the sleep pattern in the sleep history.
USER TERMINAL APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DRIVING USER TERMINAL APPARATUS
A user terminal apparatus, a method for driving the user terminal apparatus, and a computer readable recording medium are provided. The user terminal apparatus includes a display configured to display a user model personalized to a user and to recommend a plurality of graphic images associated with a physical condition of a user through one zone of the displayed user model, Cand an information visualization processor configured to, in response to one image being selected from the plurality of recommended graphic images, control the display to apply the selected graphic image to the user model.
Virtual reality biofeedback systems and methods
A biofeedback virtual reality (VR) system and methods are provided for improving, optimizing, or minimizing the physiological or psychological effects of a medical condition, such as a physiological or psychological condition of a patient. The biofeedback VR System monitors one or more physiological parameters while presenting an immersive VR environment. The system and method comprise a closed-loop biofeedback system where a user (i.e., patient) observes a VR Experience provided by the VR System. The VR System monitors one or more physiological parameters while guiding the user to an improved (or optimized) physiological state through improvement of one or more of the physiological parameters. In some embodiments, a social experience is included in the VR, where the user engages with one or more other users in the VR Experience.
