Medical alert device
11522991 · 2022-12-06 ·

A medical alert device that may be used to transmit a medical alert over a wireless network. The medical alert device includes a microprocessor for controlling the operation of the device, a data store configured to store the phone number of at least one predetermined call recipient, and a wireless communication module that is connectable to a wireless network. The medical alert device also includes a preprogrammed user actuatable button that is configured to, upon being actuated, initiate the execution of software instructions by the microprocessor to retrieve a phone number stored on the data store. The microprocessor may then connect to the wireless network and establish a communication link with the predetermined call recipient by dialing the phone number. Also disclosed are peripheral devices that may be operatively connected to the medical alert device.

System and method for using computational linguistics to identify and attenuate mental health deterioration

A method for determining a state of mind of a user may include receiving one or more strings of characters composed by the user, and determining, by a processing device, the state of mind of the user by processing the one or more strings of characters. The processing of the one or more strings of characters may include identifying similarities of the one or more strings of characters with other strings of characters indicative of the state of mind. The method may also include determining, based on the one or more strings of characters, a severity of the state of mind of the user.

Systems and methods for multivariate stroke detection

A system for detecting an anomalous event in a person includes a body in contact with a skin surface of a person; a heat source for heating the skin surface to a target temperature; a skin temperature sensor for measuring a temperature of the skin surface in contact with the heat source; a blood volume sensor for measuring a blood volume of the skin surface; and a hardware processor communicatively coupled to the heat source, the blood volume sensor, the skin temperature sensor, and an environmental temperature sensor. The hardware processor is configured to receive a baseline blood volume signal, output a heating signal to the heat source to initiate a heating cycle, receive a second blood volume signal from the blood volume sensor, compare the second blood volume signal to the baseline blood volume signal, and determine whether an anomalous biologic event has occurred.

Method and system for automatically requesting medical assistance

A system and method for automatically requesting assistance for a user experiencing a medical emergency is disclosed. The system includes a user device with a sensor to detect sensed information. Based on the sensed information the user device can determine if the user is experiencing a medical emergency. The user device can communicate with nearby devices over one or more networks and send information about the medical emergency to the nearby devices. The information can include the type of medical emergency, the location of the user experiencing the medical emergency, and any instructions for providing the user with assistance.

A first responder dispatch system is disclosed comprising a sensing wearable configured to be worn by a first responder. The sensing wearable can comprise a wrist-worn electronic device. The sensing wearable can comprise a plurality of biometric sensors configured to measure a plurality of vital signs of the first responder. The system can comprise a server programmed to receive biometric data concerning a plurality of vital signs of the first responder measured by the sensing wearable. The server can also transmit alerts to a plurality of dispatch client devices over a plurality of secured real-time bidirectional connections concerning a status of the first responder. At least one dispatch client device can transmit a response to the server and the server can, in turn, transmit additional biometric data concerning the first responder to the dispatch client device.

Detecting Falls Using A Mobile Device

In an example method, a mobile device obtains sample data generated by one or more sensors over a period of time, where the one or more sensors are worn by a user. The mobile device determines that the user has fallen based on the sample data, and determines, based on the sample data, a severity of an injury suffered by the user. The mobile device generates one or more notifications based on the determination that the user has fallen and the determined severity of the injury.

Advanced cardiac waveform analytics

Systems and methods for electrocardiographic waveform analysis, data presentation and actionable alert generation are described. Electrocardiographic waveform data can be received from a wearable device associated with a patient. A mathematical analysis of at least a portion of the electrocardiographic waveform data can be performed to provide cardiac analytics. In instances where (1) a pathologically prolonged QT interval and (2) an R on T premature ventricular contraction and/or a ventricular tachycardia are detected from the cardiac analytics of the at least a portion of the electrocardiographic waveform data, an actionable alert can be generated and displayed with a visualization of the cardiac analytics.
