20220054049 · 2022-02-24 ·

A method for determining the tap time of a user in response to an auditory stimulus. The method includes: playing back the auditory stimulus corresponding to a reference audio signal, recording the reference audio signal and one or more vibro-acoustic events, the vibro-acoustic events following one or more taps by the user on a touch screen of the device in reaction to the reference audio signal, detecting the reference audio signal in the recorded audio signal, the recorded audio signal is recorded by a microphone of the touch-screen device, during the step of detecting the reference audio signal in the recorded audio signal, placing the reference audio signal and the recorded audio signal on a common time scale, filtering the detection and normalizing it to keep only the frequencies corresponding to the vibro-acoustic events generated by the user's actions on the touch screen, and detecting the vibro-acoustic events in which instants associated with the vibro-acoustic events are identified in the signal obtained after filtering.

A nerve stimulation system including a stimulation probe including a handle and a stimulation head at an end of the handle; a reference electrode; and a control system in communication with the stimulation probe and the reference electrode, the control system configured to generate an electrical stimulation signal that, when delivered to a skin surface of a patient using the stimulation probe, induces an activation potential in a plurality of nociceptors while remaining below a threshold that induces a muscle contractile response.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING INFECTIONS

This invention relates to diagnostic medical instruments and procedures, and more particularly to implantable devices and methods for monitoring physiological parameters. A device for providing in vivo diagnostics of infections in orthopedic implants having at least one signal processing device operatively coupled with sensors. The signal processing device is operable to receive the output signal from the sensors and transmit a signal corresponding with the output signal. The invention also relates to a method using the device of the invention for detecting infection associated with implants in a human or animal subject.

4D Flow Measurements Of The Hepatic Vasculatures With Two-Dimensional Excitation
20170296072 · 2017-10-19 ·

A computer-implemented method of visualizing blood flow through a patient using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) includes receiving an image of the portal venous system of the patient's liver at a full field of view. A reduced field of view is defined which encompasses the portal venous system of the patient's liver and excludes extraneous anatomy in the full field of view. A navigator area is defined in the full field of view and outside of the reduced field of view. Transmit channels are used to selectively excite the reduced field of view and the navigator area throughout a cardiac cycle of the patient. Measurement data is acquired in response to the selective excitation. The acquired data is used to generate time-resolved 3D datasets. Additionally, a 3D visualization of blood flow though the portal venous system is generated based on the time-resolved 3D datasets.

A mobile, hand-held communication device with a digital display, and a 3D camera for acquiring a three-dimensional image of the human body is programmed to function as a digital anthropometer. The user digitizes anatomical landmarks on the displayed image to quickly obtain anatomical measurements which are used with a known morphological relationship to make an anatomical prediction for clothing measurement, body composition, orthotic and insert manufacturing, and postural displacement with accuracy and without external equipment.

Methods for assessing a vessel with sequential physiological measurements
11666232 · 2023-06-06 · ·

A method, device, and system for evaluating a vessel of a patient, and in particular the hemodynamic impact of a stenosis within the vessel of a patient. Proximal and distal pressure measurements are made using first and second instrument while the first instrument is moved longitudinally in the vessel and the second instrument remains in a fixed position. A series of pressure ratio values are calculated, and a pressure ratio curve is generated. The pressure ratio curve may be output to a display. One or more stepped change in the pressure ratio curve are identified using an Automatic Step Detection algorithm. An image is obtained showing the position of the first instrument within the vessel that corresponds to the identified stepped change. The image is registered to the identified stepped change in the pressure ratio curve. The image may be output to the display.
