Portable medical station

At least one embodiment is a portable medical station comprising a main body, which is disposed at least partially inside of a bag. Coupled to the main body is at least one tray and a plurality of handles. There are also a plurality of screens coupled to the main body and at least one computer coupled to the main body, wherein the portable medical station is foldable inside of the bag so that the portable medical station is movable while being substantially folded inside of the bag.

MONITORING SYSTEM

Apparatus for performing impedance measurements on a subject. The apparatus includes a first processing system for determining an impedance measurement procedure and determining instructions corresponding to the measurement procedure. A second processing system is provided for receiving the instructions, using the instructions to generate control signals, with the control signals being used to apply one or more signals to the subject. The second processing system then receives first data indicative of the one or more signals applied to the subject, second data indicative of one or more signals measured across the subject and performs at least preliminary processing of the first and second data to thereby allow impedance values to be determined.

Combination vein contrast enhancer and bar code scanning device

It is known in the art to use an apparatus to enhance the visual appearance of the veins and arteries in a patient to facilitate insertion of needles into those veins and arteries. This application discloses a number of inventions that add additional data collection and presentation capabilities to a handheld vein enhancement apparatus and a set of processes for the collection of blood and the delivery of IV medicines that use the handheld device to mediate the process.

MANAGEMENT OF MULTIPLE DEVICES WITHIN AN ANALYTE MONITORING ENVIRONMENT

Systems, devices, and methods are provided for the management of multiple sensor control devices and/or multiple reader devices in an in vivo analyte monitoring environment, and also for resolving conflicts when merging data collected by different reader devices.

Methods, devices, systems, and kits are provided that buffer the time spaced glucose signals in a memory, and when a request for real time glucose level information is detected, transmit the buffered glucose signals and real time monitored glucose level information to a remotely located device, process a subset of the received glucose signals to identify a predetermined number of consecutive glucose data points indicating an adverse condition such as an impending hypoglycemic condition, confirm the adverse condition based on comparison of the predetermined number of consecutive glucose data points to a stored glucose data profile associated with the adverse condition, where confirming the adverse condition includes generating a notification signal when the impending hypoglycemic condition is confirmed, and activate a radio frequency (RF) communication module to wirelessly transmit the generated notification signal to the remotely located device only when the notification signal is generated.

METHOD AND APPARATUS TO ACCOUNT FOR TRANSPONDER TAGGED OBJECTS USED DURING MEDICAL PROCEDURES

Medical procedure related objects (e.g., instruments, supplies) tagged with transponders are accounted for in a medical procedure environment via a medical object accounting system using a number of antennas, and optional readers. A first set of antennas is configured to interrogate sterile fields and/or non-sterile fields which do not encompass a body of a patient to account for the objects proximate a start and an end of a medical procedure. Readers (e.g., symbol, RFID) may be employed. A database is maintained with information including a current status of each instrument or supply, for instance as checked in or checked out. On notification of a discrepancy, a handheld antenna and/or second set of antennas interrogate a volume encompassing a body of a patient for retained instruments or supplies. The system is automatically configured (e.g., loading appropriate software) on communicative coupling of a device (e.g., antenna, reader, peripheral device).

Body-worn vital sign monitor

The invention provides a body-worn monitor featuring a processing system that receives a digital data stream from an ECG system. A cable houses the ECG system at one terminal end, and plugs into the processing system, which is worn on the patient's wrist like a conventional wristwatch. The ECG system features: i) a connecting portion connected to multiple electrodes worn by the patient; ii) a differential amplifier that receives electrical signals from each electrode and process them to generate an analog ECG waveform; iii) an analog-to-digital converter that converts the analog ECG waveform into a digital ECG waveform; and iv) a transceiver that transmits a digital data stream representing the digital ECG waveform (or information calculated from the waveform) through the cable and to the processing system. Different ECG systems, typically featuring three, five, or twelve electrodes, can be interchanged with one another.

An image capture apparatus displays a live view image that is based on an acquired image, stores image data that is based on the acquired image, and acquires additional information associated with a predetermined subject included in the live view image. The image capture apparatus superimposes the additional information on the live view image and displays the resulting image before the image data is stored, and stores the image data and the acquired additional information in association with each other.
