The plurality of PET detector entities are arranged in a ring formation. The processing circuitry is configured: to obtain, with respect to each of the plurality of PET detector entities, state information indicating a state of the PET detector entity; to detect an abnormality when an index value indicating a state of any individual or a whole of the plurality of PET detector entities exceeds a threshold value on the basis of the state information; and to detect a state in which the abnormality is not detected on the basis of the state information, but an index value indicating states of at least two of the plurality of PET detector entities is different from an index value indicating states of at least two other PET detector entities.
System and methods for treating cancer cells with alternating polarity magnetic fields
Systems and method for destroying or inhibiting cancer cells and other rapidly-dividing cells include applying AP magnetic fields having a defined frequency of 5 Hz-500 kHz and a field strength of 0.1-5000 μT to a target body area that includes the cancer or other rapidly-dividing cells, and modifying the cancer or tumor microenvironment to increase the presence of cancer-suppressive cells or decrease the presence of cancer-promoting cells. In various embodiments, the systems and methods may include adjusting the therapy based on the dosage of an immunotherapy drug administered to the patient before, during, or after the application of the AP magnetic fields.
Refining lesion contours with combined active contour and inpainting
A mechanism is provided in a data processing system for refining lesion contours with combined active contour and inpainting. The mechanism receives an initial segmented medical image having organ tissue including a set of object contours and a contour to be refined. The mechanism inpaints object voxels inside all contours of the set. The mechanism calculates an updated contour around the contour to be refined based on the in-painted object voxels to form an updated segmented medical image. The mechanism determines whether the updated segmented medical image is improved compared to the initial segmented medical image. The mechanism keeps the updated segmented medical image responsive to the updated segmented medical image being improved.
READOUT AND PROCESSING ARRANGEMENT IN A SENSOR SYSTEM
A sensor system includes a detector substrate, multiple readout substrates and a processing substrate. The detector substrate has a detector mounted thereon. Each of the readout substrates is disposed perpendicular to the detector substrate, and has corresponding readout circuitry mounted thereon. The processing substrate is disposed perpendicular to each of the readout substrates and parallel to the detector substrate, and has one or more processing elements mounted thereon. Electrical connections between component nodes on the detector substrate and corresponding readout substrates are made using connectors or right-angled solder joints created using a solder reflow process. Electrical connections between component nodes on the processing substrate and corresponding readout substrates are also made using connectors or right-angled solder joints created using a solder reflow process. The geometric arrangement of the substrates allows for high density of pixelation on the detector. In an embodiment, the sensor system is a radiation detector system.
MEDICAL INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, X-RAY CT APPARATUS, AND MEDICAL INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
A medical information processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry obtains image data rendering a blood vessel of a patient. The processing circuitry performs a fluid analysis on the obtained image data and calculates an index value related to a blood flow in the blood vessel with respect to each of a plurality of positions in the blood vessel. With respect to the index values to be calculated, the processing circuitry selects a position in which a first value is to be obtained from among the plurality of positions or selects a value serving as the first value from among the index values exhibited in positions. The processing circuitry causes a display to display the first value in a predetermined display region thereof used for displaying the first value.
COLLIMATORS FOR MEDICAL IMAGING SYSTEMS AND IMAGE RECONSTRUCTION METHODS THEREOF
A method of imaging reconstruction includes providing a detector and a collimator, operating the detector to acquire a measured image of a target object from photons passing through the collimator, partitioning the collimator such that the collimator can be represented by a first matrix, providing an initial estimated image of the target object, and calculating an estimated image of the target object based on the measured image and the first matrix. The calculating of the estimated image includes an iteration using the initial estimated image as a starting point. The method also includes partitioning the collimator such that the collimator can be represented by a second matrix larger than the first matrix, and calculating a refined estimated image of the target object based on the measured image and the second matrix. The calculating of the refined estimated image includes an iteration using the estimated image as a starting point.
