PATIENT TABLE AND PATIENT WEIGHT MEASURING SYSTEM
Patient weight measuring system includes a patient table and a control circuit. The patient table includes a tabletop that receives a patient thereon, an elevation mechanism, and a load sensor. The elevation mechanism adjusts a height of the tabletop relative to a floor. The elevation mechanism includes a support frame and an actuator. The support frame includes multiple pivotable frame members mechanically connected to the tabletop. The actuator is configured to exert an actuator force on at least one of the frame members to control the height of the tabletop. The load sensor is operably connected to the actuator and configured to measure the actuator force. The control circuit is communicatively connected to the load sensor, and is configured to calculate a weight of the patient disposed on the tabletop based on the actuator force measured by the load sensor.
Articulating Patient Positioning Apparatus
An apparatus having at least one anatomical support member which comprises at least one layer of laminar sheeting and at least one articulating joint unit is in engagement with the at least one of anatomical support member. The joint is positionable in at least a vertical and horizontal orientations enabling smooth positioning of portions of an anatomy in three dimensions such that translational and/or rotational centrepoints in its x, y and z axes substantially coincide. The joint is preferably made of by material(s) that do not cause substantial radiographic or nuclear imaging artifacts when medically imaged thereby.
QUANTIFICATION PHANTOM FOR USE WITH MULTIPLE IMAGING MODALITIES
Described is an in-scan phantom for use during an imaging procedure. The phantom can include at least one measuring insert and/or at least one measured insert. The measuring insert may have radiation detecting capabilities while the measured insert may include a radioactive material. Also described is an imaging modality system that includes an imaging modality and an in-scan phantom as well as methods of using the in-scan phantom for imaging a patient or performing a scout scan.
Patient transfer support locating device
A patient transfer system is provided to move a patient between modalities. The system includes a deploying modality having a top surface configured to support the patient; a patient transfer support positionable on the top surface of the deploying modality, the patient transfer support also being configured for movement from the top surface of the deploying modality to a top surface of the receiving modality; a patient transfer support locating feature positionable to limit movement of the patient transfer support relative to the top surface of the receiving modality; and a keying feature positionable to engage at least one of a surface associated with the receiving modality or a surface of the patient transfer support, the keying feature being configured to inhibit movement of the patient transfer support in at least one direction relative to the top surface of the receiving modality. The patient transfer support locating feature limits the range of movement of the patient transfer support relative to the top surface of the receiving modality when the patient transfer support is moved from the top surface of the deploying modality to the top surface of the receiving modality.
Sled-Table For Radiographic Imaging And Medical Device Integration
X-ray procedure tables with improved structural strength that enable radiation shielding and integrated medical device and monitoring systems. The design allows the incorporation of an integrated patient support structure, radiation shielding and associated devices and conduits for medical care in procedures that employ X-ray imaging.
APPARATUS FOR X-RAY BONE DENSITOMETRY
An apparatus for bone densitometry (1) includes a patient-carrier frame (2) fitted with a support surface (21) for a patient and an arm (3) movable with respect to the frame (2) in a longitudinal direction (X) from the feet to the head of the patient. The arm is fitted with a generator-detector assembly having an X-ray generator (31) and an X-ray detector (32), mechanically aligned so that the collimated beam (F) of X-rays produced by the generator (31) centers the detector (32). In particular, the frame is a monocoque (2) and fully supports, at the support surface (21), the arm (3) in order to leave the space underneath the frame (2) free. Advantageously, moreover, in the case of apparatus with frame (2) made of aluminum, the frame itself also serves as a filter for X-rays.
PATIENT SUPPORT DEVICE FOR AN X-RAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A PATIENT COUCH OF A PATIENT SUPPORT DEVICE
Systems and methods are provided for a patient support device for an x-ray device for use during an examination of a patient including a patient couch and at least one support (6) bearing the patient couch. The patient couch includes a first, x-ray-transparent material disposed in an at least partially flexible covering made from a second x-ray-transparent material. The first material includes a solid, dimensionally stable state and a deformable state, in particular at least partially liquid and/or gaseous state, that are linked by reversible phase transitions. The patient support device further includes at least one induction device for inducing at least one of the phase transitions of the first material between the states by applying and/or removing energy.
Path planning and collision avoidance for movement of instruments in a radiation therapy environment
Apparatus and methods for therapy delivery are disclosed. In one embodiment, a therapy delivery system includes a plurality of movable components including a radiation therapy nozzle and a patient pod for holding a patient, a patient registration module for determining a desired position of at least one of the plurality of movable components, and a motion control module for coordinating the movement of the least one of the plurality of movable components from a current position to the desired position. The motion control module includes a path planning module for simulating at least one projected trajectory of movement of the least one of the plurality of moveable components from the current position to the desired position.
Couch device, X-ray CT apparatus, and medical image diagnostic apparatus
A couch device according to an embodiment includes a couchtop, shape control members, and driving circuitry. The couchtop includes a movable base couchtop and a transformable couchtop mounted above the movable base couchtop and capable of bending a part thereof from a flat shape. The shape control members control the shape of the transformable couchtop. The driving circuitry moves the couchtop to an opening of a gantry device that collects data for taking medical images. The transformable couchtop includes divided couchtops, and transformation support members for fixing the transformable couchtop to the movable base couchtop are fitted to divided sections. Each of the shape control members adjusts a position of a specific transformation support member so that an installation location thereof is a fixed point of the movable base couchtop.
