The present invention provides a mobile imaging system for imaging of patients in medical interventions comprising a ring gantry with a plurality of independently rotating rings whereas a first rotating ring positions an X-ray source with collimator and a second rotating ring positions an image detector such that the region of interest (patient) can be positioned off-centered with respect to the ring center. The system supports planar X-ray imaging and Computed Tomography (CT) and Cone beam CT (CBCT) acquisitions of three dimensional (3D) volumes with variable X-ray field of views (FOVs) adapted to regions of interest (ROIs), which are not required to be of cylindrical shape. The mobile system can be equipped with stereoscopic cameras integrated in the gantry an on moving rings to support optical tracking and navigation of instruments within the same co-ordinate system of X-ray information. The gantry can be equipped with additional sensors and robotic manipulators on further rings operating in said co-ordinate system on mobile platform. The gantry provides a generic mechanical and electrical interface to a supporting structure, which can be attached to a variety of mobility platforms to support robotic positioning of the system in various orientations of scanner in treatment rooms to accommodate a wide range of patient setups, including the possibility for inclined and vertical scans of patients in upright position.

Method and systems for correcting x-ray detector tilt in x-ray imaging

Various methods and systems are provided for x-ray imaging. In one embodiment, a method comprises acquiring, with an x-ray detector tilted at an angle with respect to an x-ray source, an x-ray image, calculating the angle from the x-ray image, generating a corrected x-ray image based on the calculated angle, and displaying the corrected x-ray image. In this way, tilt artifacts caused by the x-ray detector being tilted with respect to the x-ray source may be removed from an x-ray image.

The system includes a camera configured to capture an image of a patient, a display, a two-way mirror positioned between a patient location and the display, and an electronic processor. A cabinet X-ray image system for obtaining X-ray images and colorized or grey scale density X-ray images of a specimen includes a sampling chamber for containing the specimen, a display, an X-ray system including, an X-ray source, a photon counting X-ray detector, and a specimen platform, and a controller configured to selectively energize the X-ray source, control the photon counting X-ray detector to collect a projection X-ray image of the specimen when the X-ray source is energized, determine the density of different areas of the specimen from data collected from the photon counting X-ray detector of the projection X-ray image, create a density X-ray image of the specimen wherein different areas of the specimen are indicated as a density or range of densities based on the determined density of different areas of the specimen, and selectively display the density X-ray image of the specimen on the display.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DISPLAYING IMAGES TO PATIENT RESIDING ON MOVABLE TABLE DURING MEDICAL IMAGING OR THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES

Systems and methods are provided for delivering images to a patient before and/or during a medical procedure in which a patient is translated on a table relative to a gantry. In various example embodiments, images are projected to the patient while preserving the projected field size during table motion, thereby potentially reducing patient anxiety by providing a more immersive patient viewing experience. In some embodiments, the projected field size is maintained by a display system that is secured to the table such that both a projector and a projection screen are fixed relative to the table, and relative to the patient, during translation of the table. In some example embodiments, a reduction in patient anxiety may be achieved by projecting images as virtual images that are perceived by the patient as residing at a depth that lies beyond the confined spatial region in which the patient resides.

A system and a method are respectively for positioning an examination object and evaluation of an image with respect to a positioning of a breast of an examination object in relation to an x-ray device. In an embodiment, the system includes an x-ray device including at least one compression device to fix a breast of the examination object; at least one camera, arranged in relation to the x-ray device such that images are acquirable via the at least one camera, the images showing a current positioning of the breast of the examination object in relation to the x-ray device; and at least one display device, embodied to display the images.
